Remember all those candies that you would get as a kid? Those sugar filled flying saucers? That taffy? The waxy stuff with no taste that you loved?

Yeah, all that and much more is here.

Also come for nuts, flour, baking supplies and teas.

It's a little out of the way and I always get lost going here, but you can certainly find something a little different when you shop here.

The Home Economist sells self-service bulk food items (e.g., chocolate, spices, trail mix, nuts, etc.). They enjoy a large selection--items you've probably never heard of before. I've shopped here many times and have never found anything old or stale.

The store appears clean, however one must be concerned about all the hands in the bulk bins touching the scoops. You'll find the scoop handles--probably touched by hundreds of customers, touching the food items.

Parking is adequate in the strip center's parking lot. I've found the staff friendly.

To outsiders, this looks like a shady place to shop. Once you go there, it's completely different. You get different colored sugar, a deli, european cheeses and drinks. Lots of bulk candy and sweets. You can get anything for baking and cooking. Lots of spices and other goodies!

Drove past a few times before I realized it was a bulk food store and not dry cleaners or a tax service.  Weird little midwestern-style shopping center.  They have nuts!  Nearly sell all kinds and in many different forms; roasted&salted, roasted&unsalted, honey roasted, blanched, chopped, sliced, chocolate covered (though I'd pass on these).  Peanuts, walnuts, pecans, cashews, almonds, pine nuts, sunflower, spices, chocolate chips, sugars, flours, rices.   It's small and reasonably priced.  Beware - if you're weak for jellybellies, circus peanuts or boston baked beans, they got 'em too.

So much fun!  Aisles of fun snacks to choose from.  All kinds of nuts, chocolates, and gummy candies.  There are also hard to find cooking and baking ingredients.  I really like to come here and stock up on fun snacks though.

Great little shop to buy bulk of anything - coffee, spices, jelly beans, flour. Great variety. Prices okay. You can even make your own nut butters or purchase fresh deli items, or speciality cheeses. Staff are pretty knowledgable, even the teen-agers.
