This park has everything. There is a gorgeous lake, arboretum, 5k running trail with fit trail stations, 2 playgrounds, tennis, multiple picnic areas and a skiing hill.

Can get crowded on Saturday afternoons in the summer, but the park is big enough to accommodate everyone.

WOW. Yelp, i love you, i can't believe this park is on yelp.  i grew up going to this park every year for sledding, picnics, field days, trips to the farm, and then for cross country races with the dreaded bowl.  this park really has something for everyone and is one of the most beautiful parks.  after moving to new york, i was depressed when someone referred to a stone-paved plaza as a park.  where was the grass? the flowers?

this park, while not huge compared to some other ones, is a gorgeous park with several areas for various activities.  huge amounts of space to play frisbee, football, soccer, etc? you got it.  an arboretum with millions of trees? got it.  bbq, picnic areas? fishing? ridiculous playgrounds for little kids? colonial style working farm with people in colonial style outfits? crazy amount of hiking/walking/running trails for various levels and lengths? tennis courts?  see how i can go on here?

this is one of the best xc courses in the state and i dare other runners to list one that is as tough in new jersey.  schools would bus their teams over to train on this course a few times a season while we hit the trails every day. even if you're not a runner, watching races here is a lot of fun.  you don't watch people run around in circles (although that has its own fun).  but you can perch on the hill on the other end of the dreaded "green monster" and watch a field of runners converge into a single line that then charges up the hill past you.  you can then walk across the main road for the end of the race where you wait along fences to see who will be the first that comes out of the "back woods" and then to see who gets passed or who has the best kick on the final leg of the race. lots of anticipation and exhilaration.

this place is great for families, couples, teams, artists, people looking for inspiration, or people who just want to be by themselves.  there are days when i miss going back there for a run or to even just watch the races.  i recommend it in all seasons, but mostly spring and fall.  absolutely gorgeous.

This park is beautiful - no joke people actually have their wedding photos taken here.

You can do everything here - walk, run, hike, picnic, bbq, sled, see animals, fly kites, play frisbee, play practically every sport - it is HUGE!  I've had hours upon hours of fun here.  They have playgrounds for the kiddies too.  It's also good for dog and people watching.  And random wildlife/animal watching.

They still have animals on the farm, but I miss the sheep they had.  I would come every spring and see the baby lambs.  That is definitely one of my favorite past times.

this place is absolutely amazing you can basically go hiking, fishing, jogging, etc. anything you want here, it's such an open space and it's good to just come and relax and do some exercise! i came here with my baby cousin he was having a blast at the park, and there's a picnic spot, and a petting zoo with sheep, pigs, it's great if you have kids.

I'm not just saying this is one of the best parks in the area because I grew up in Holmdel. It has lot's to do and is very picturesque.

The park has large rolling country-side and wooded areas where you can wander for hours (and get lost. Not that it's happened to me), lot's of separate picnic areas (a favorite for family and group picnics with folks from all over the area), a lake with ducks and geese (and ice skating when this global warming thing is on hiatus), tennis courts, a working farm and a couple of playgrounds for the kids. There's a shelter/activity center with a huge fireplace in the center where they sell snacks and drinks (great hot drinks during the winter sledding season).

For those fitness fanatics, there are miles of trails to hike through the woods with one of those "FItness Trail" things to do push ups and sit ups along the way. Even an official 5K cross-country course that they always have some of the regional HS championships at because, well, it's over the hills and through the woods (no grandma's house, though) and not partially or fully on the streets as some towns have to do because of lack of suitable parkland.

    Highly recommended.

I love me some Holmdel Park!!

This is the location of choice for Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th, and everything else picnics. Also for walks, walking dogs, playing with little ones, etc. There is indeed a farm, which at one point was mislabeled as a zoo, and totally confused me as barnyard animals do not equal zoo in the mind of someone who grew up on trips to the Bronx Zoo.

There's a great arboretum, which obviously is better in summer than winter, but then again, I think that applies for the park overall.

Holmdel Park is a Monmouth County Park Located in Holmdel, NJ.   There is always something going on no matter what the season is.

The park is built around one of the older farms in Holmdel.  The farm has been preserved and children and adults will enjoy walking around and observing the animals.  On the weekends you can tour the farm house.  The workers/volunteers on the farm dress in period outfits and work the fields using horses and tools from an earlier time.

The park also has hiking trails, an activity center and an arboretum.  In the winter there is a large sledding hill.  In the upper part of the part are tennis courts and a second play ground.

During the weekend there are often groups having picnics or meeting up for bike rides.

This a great place to spend a couple of hours relaxing and exploring.

Amazing County Park! Holmdel Park is a wonderful archived property w/ a full working farm, miles of hiking / running trails, flat lands and cultural activities to remind you of the basics!

I had class trips and track meets galore here! Sasquatch was caught in a Kodak moment in the high school year book during class picnic... too funny!

Bring the kids to see the ponies at Long Street Farm!!!

I need to come back here one day.  I used to go here a lot as a kid, whether it was a field trip or a family outing (I wonder if the Longstreet Farm still exists).   My fondest memories was the playground in the back.  They had that huge (well.....back then it was to me!) fort made of logs and those cranes.

My god I feel old now.
