I love this place! I prefer seeing a movie here than a regular movie theater.
Make sure you get there early. They usually seat for your movie 15 mins before it starts so that they can take your orders.
The food is good. I love the spinach dip and buffalo wings. My fiance usually orders the pizza. The kids meal is either a hot dog or slice of pizza, popcorn and pop. I've been told that they cant substitute pop in the kids meal. My kid doesn't like pop. I just order a lemonade for myself and just switch with her.
Sometimes they have celebrity's come...and you get to meet them, get an autograph or picture. -

Why waste time doing dinner AND a movie? 2 in 1. Boom!
Sure, after looking at your receipt at the end of the night, it may seem like a lot, but is it? You can easily spend $15/person at an ordinary movie theater on drinks and snacks. In comparison, you're getting a lot more here. Yeah, the food's not that great, so what? After a few drinks it all tastes good anyway.
My only suggestions to the theater: 1) bring back the 18 and over after 5:30 PM 2) please grease those chairs! There is nothing more awkward than a loud squeal during a deep, silent moment in the movie not to mention the tact and skill required to bring your seat back up silently afterwards. -

Our family likes to watch movies here on special occasions for the novelty of eating dinner while catching a movie on the big screen. The food is alright, nothing that will make you stand up and take notice. It's your typical bar fare type food, burgers, wings, nachos, pizza.. except with catch movie themed names. But that doesn't exactly make it taste better does it?
Ticket prices for the movies themselves are reasonable, but that's because you're required to buy a food item with every ticket... and that's where they get you.
Get there early for popular movies so you can choose where you want to sit and because the theater can fill up fast. -

Due to my 16 y/o daughter experiencing a lackluster response to the theater over-selling for the movie she tried to see, we've declared 'never again.'
I don't care if she is a teenager, offer a solution to the problem created by your staff, versus shrugging your shoulders and saying, "Oh well."
We've only been able to see a couple movies there due to them constantly selling out. We'll go to Lowes in Woodridge, thank you. -

Computer chairs woooo, really love the fact that they provide services from the Formosa Cafe. The People who work there were very courteous and ATTENTIVE which happens to be a plus in my books. In conclusion they will have my business in the future.

I am ranking this Cinema/Restaurant based on "matinée show times", because I never been there during prime time (Fri and Sat Nights) when there is probably more alcohol-induced chaos and longer lines. Ticket prices are reasonable ($6 per person, Matinée times), because it is the food and drinks where you will spend most of your money. Food is good, but no "wow factor". Parking is tight, because it is located in strip mall with other retail stores. Inside, I saw bouncers, which is necessary because some parents are dumb enough to bring their kids to a venue that serves alcohol, and some people forget that it is only a movie--especially when they are drinking. Not a good place to watch a complicated plot-twisting movie if you plan on drinking. I lost track of the movie plot half-way through movie, after a few "Mandarin Martinis". For two people we spent a total of $87.83 (Movie Tickets, 5 Drinks, Food, Tip), minus the $25 gift card, and our final total was $62.83.

The food is fried & the service isn't that great but I love this place. Mondays are cheap buckets of beer and Tuesdays are half price pitchers of margs & long islands. It used to be no kids allowed but they slowly started offering family movies & the rule went out the window, much to my dismay.
This is the perfect place to take a group of friends to see a terrible action flick. They continue to remodel as well as add interesting things to keep you coming back. Go early to start the buckets & pitchers before the film, otherwise you'll wait awhile for the servers to get to you in the theater. -

I love coming here.. Always enjoy myself. Tickets are cheap and the bill does add up when you include food and drinks, but you will save in the long run when you don't have to go to a fancy restaurant.

The last two movies I have seen at the theater have been here. It is a great date night place since while waiting to go in the theater you can sit in the lobby for a drink and chat.
Even though I thought this was a no kids place....the last time I went I saw many kids....hmmm maybe the no kids policy changed?
They have a great variety of food...and it is pretty good. I have had their martinis and I thought they were too strong for my liking but that can be a good thing right?
At first you would think the food and waiters would distract you but actually I did not mind at all. :-)
This is slowly becoming my favorite place to watch movies.. -

I recently went here with two girlfriends to see the Rocky Horror Picture show. To be honest, I was expecting a lot more. While I appreciated their creativity, it just felt like a sit-in cast. Either not completely dead-on with what they were doing... or just going thru the motions perhaps? Some of the cast was great, but honestly it was hit or miss.
And the food... holy shit. Never again. It was AWFUL. I ordered a dish with three 'burritos' and a side of guacamole. The quacamole and chips were the only edible thing. And it was about $10! The burritos were coated in this god-awful sauce and melted cheese to the point where they didn't even LOOK like burritos. I thought my waitress had brought me the wrong thing! And I'm not sure if it was the sauce or something else, but it had this bitter tinge to it that made me question if I was going to get food poisoning. And the rice w/ beans... I think? Had the texture of soggy oatmeal.
I'd like to give the theatre another try (and a different show perhaps), but I will only be ordering a drink and NO food.
The concept is nice: Watch a movie. Eat food. Have some drinks. Interact..... but I think it needs to be polished a lot more. -

This was my first time going to a movie theater & restaurant at the same time. I heard some great things, so we decided to try it out. The theater is decorated like the actual Hollywood Boulevard and old movie stars (we had Charlie Chaplin in ours). The theater chairs are very comfortable - they are like nice desk chairs. You also have a small counter for you to set your food/drinks on.
The menu has a variety of food - everything from burgers to Mexican food to salads. One thing to remember is that the food comes out as it is ready, not all at once with you party's food. I thought the food (I got a burger) was a little over-seasoned, to the point where I couldn't eat the whole thing.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They come about 4 times - once to take your order, once to bring your drinks, once to bring your food, and once to take away plates and bring the check. They are good about not standing in your view of the movie and taking orders quickly and quietly.
Going to movies anymore is expensive in general...but here you definitely pay more. We paid a regular price for a later movie on a Friday, plus money for each meal (the prices are pretty comparable to Apple Bees or TGI Friday's). Honestly it is a pretty good deal for everything you get, but I wouldn't do it every weekend.Listed in: I Swear I Do Stuff Besides Eat, Movie Night!, Special Reviews

IMO, This is a great place for a date or a special outing for your kids. The food isn't gourmet but it is above average (AMC) selection having burgers, wraps and still preserving the movie menu of popcorn, soda and candy.
Okay let's be real....I can watch a movie and drink an adult beverage #topthat -
Review from Josh M.
The ADD in me makes it hard to sit through a movie most of the time without getting too antsy. Put a decent burger in front of me and a couple of beers and now we have a different story.
The seats are your basic office chair that beats most theater seats that tend to make my bum fall asleep half way through. There is also a counter kind of like a bar top in front of you to set everything on. All in all its a hell of a lot more comfortable than what you are used to.
The food is good but not great. If I were you Id opt for a burger. They seem to be the only consistent item that they make. The waffle fries are usually not too crispy or hot but the sweet potato fries are a good alternative if you go that way.
For the price you really can't beat the movie and the environment. If only they could work a little on the food. I don't understand the soggy nachos and the wrap with way too much lettuce and not enough meat in it. Check this place out though if you don't mind eating a burger in the dark - its actually pretty enjoyable. -

-The food wasn't very good (I ordered the Three Amigos) and my water tasted WEIRD... I can't even explain it
-The chairs were just fake leather computer chairs.
-Our "waiter" seemed to have forgotten about us, twice.
-The movie screen was small and I didn't feel like we received any real value for our money. Next time we're going to Muvico.
I'm not a particularly snooty person that needs all the best but one thing I do need is VALUE and I did not get that here. -

I recently made my first trip to Hollywood Boulevard. As I took my seat I was a bit surprised. The menu was full service. I was expecting only theater food. Suddenly there was a disturbance in the force. The manager approached and informed me that the projector for the film I desired to see had broken down. Ahh!!! He then comped me on my food, put me in a different movie, and gave me passes to be used in the future. Now that's service!!!
The concept is very cool. Watch a movie. Eat food. Drink alcohol. Have a good time. Be aware though, parking is limited.
I plan on going back again. The place rocks. -

This is from my summer break when I went here again. The weather was rainy when I went here once more, and this time, I was around with some of my family members to see Captain America. Only a minor decrease in stars, but I tell you the reason why in a moment.
The server: Nice to us, and I ordered the nachos and man, were those sauces loaded!
The reason for the minor decrease in stars: In the middle of the movie, it was momentarily freezing at some parts, and the server explained why clear as crystal. She told us it was something they were downloading, and the download was causing momentary interference. But despite that, we were still able to watch the movie completely.
You know what, that's the very first time as a moviegoer that a movie would stop and start at some parts, but lesson learned, it happens. I'm just glad we were compensated with free movie passes afterwards.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Hollywood Boulevard is a great alternative to the common movie theater. Small theaters with drinking, dining and all around fun having. The place is getting better and better too with all of the recent renovations they have done.
Prices are very comparable to the average theater, but the big added bonus of drinking and dining at your seat. There are different drink specials throughout the week and some of their cocktails are really delicious. The food and drink though is a bit pricey here. You can expect to pay a few bucks more than you would normally for a beer, but that is to be expected at the movies.
The theaters are small, some seating only about 50 people, but you are spread out. The chairs are like big, high back, comfy office chairs and there is a table in front of you. Before the show starts a server will come around and take orders. This can be an incredibly lengthy ordeal, as there are never enough servers for the room. I can't really comment on the food quality because I have only actually eaten desserts there, but everything looks good. The oreo pie is awesome by the way.
This is a great way to experience a movie and a great place for a date. The theater that used to be here when I was a kid was small and cramped and Hollywood now is just awesome. -

Talk about a movie experience!! Hollywood Blvd makes you feel like you are actually in Hollywood going to a movie premier!! Ok, maybe that's a stretch but it's very close and with a full bar, you can leave that to your imagination!
Hollywood Blvd (HB) is one of those places that you should try if you every have the opportunity to do so. If you every go out on a date for dinner and a movie and after the movie you don't know exactly where to go to eat afterwards?? At HB, you can watch your movie WHILE eating your dinner at the same time!!!
While you wait to go inside to see your movie, you can sit at one of their two bars located before you enter the theater gates. They call your movie out by name and time and then you line up to go in to your designated rooms.
Once you get to the room, you pick any one of the many computer chairs that are lined up alongside the tables. At the front of the theater, you can get a round table for groups but it can be difficult to watch the screen if your back is towards it.
The food is actually very good and I think my favorite item on the menu is the Arnold Schwarzenburger, which is basically a cheeseburger with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. I think one of the best things about the food is the waffle fries that they serve alongside your meal. Very crispy and hot!!!
Another neat thing about this place is that you will get the occasional celebrity come in to promote their movie and sign autographs/take pictures with fans...it truly is something to see.
Final thing on HB...Every Saturday night at midnight, there is the showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in which you, the audience, actually takes part of the movie. People really get into it and dress up as some of their favorite characters from the movie. It's something to check out if you are a fan of the movie or if it's your first time ever seeing it. Well, enough with my ramblings..Check it out!!!

The hubby and I took our daughter here a while back to see Gnomeo and Juliet for a date night. We all had a good time, but there were a couple of little annoyances.
So first, you buy your tickets at the front counter. We were given coupons for other things as well--score!! I love me some coupons! To actually get into the theater, you wait in the crowded line of people. Some are going to the same movie as you, some are not. You don't really know if they're your "competition" to get a good seat in the theater or not since it's a free-for-all once you get in the theater door. But I digress.
While we were waiting in this cattle-herding line, an announcement was made that all theaters were being seated. Yay. So we gather up our daughter and start to move forward int he line. We get up to the ticket-taker, and they say "oh no, not your movie, just the rest of them". Ummm, then don't say ALL the movies, dude. Other people were annoyed by this as well because we had to get out of line, wait for them to all go to their theaters, and then re-get into line for our movie. Oh, and Jusin Beiber. Oh, the Beibs...
So finally, it is our turn, and we are cattle prodded into the teater to mad dash to a "good" seat for our movie. We were one of the first people in line, so we got good "office chairs" to sit in. Totally not comfortable--I am used to the airplane-like seats at AMC South Barrington.
So there is a minimum order and we all got dinner. I got a the super munchies nachos, my daughter got Marilyn's grilled breast of chicken, and my husband got some kind of burger. The waffled fries that came with my daughter's meal were really good, but the chicken was very dry. My nachos lacked a lot of ingredients--very slapped together. My husband ate his burger, but didn't care for his fries.
But something that annoyed my husband, not me as I wasn't on the end, was that between the ordering, passing, asking for stuff, getting refills, getting the check, paying, etc. he missed a lot of the movie. Not a huge deal when you're seeing a kid's cartoon like we were, but if you were watching a movie you actually needed to concentrate on, I can see how you would be annoyed. So it's a good theory given the right movie circumstances.
I will be back!! -

I will give you the fair down low about Hollywood Boulevard.
Pros: Good service, the ability to eat dinner while watching (if that's your thing), lots of promotional deals and coupons, cool special movies and events
Cons: Food purchase required, food isn't that great, bad sound/screen, office chairs get uncomfortable after a while, the ticket staff aren't friendly
Not to mention, you often find yourself standing around until movie start time before the ticket folk will let you in to sit down. Why do they do this? It makes me feel very unwelcome.
All in all, this place works for some, not for others. -

Got a promotional coupon for a free ticket from work, so I decided to check out the Boulevard with some friends. In order to get the free ticket you have to order something, so I decided on a glass of wine. I thought this was a pretty good deal since the wine was under 6 dollars.
About the theater itself:
-Super cheesy decorations but kind of cute if you are into old Hollywood.
-Each theater has a theme-we sat in the Wizard of Oz one. All the statues kind of freaked me out.
-You are seated as a group, so that everyone has a fair shot a getting a seat with their group.
Overall this was an interesting movie experience. The actual screen in the theater is pretty small and the seats are not too comfy. Since I have another free ticket coupon, I will be back again. Good bargain indeed! -

Tickets are fair priced and the seating is roomy and comfortable. not the best place to go if you are looking for a close romantic night with your significant other, only because the chairs are office chairs so no cuddle sessions there lol.
The prices are pretty fair for the delicious food and portions you will receive. Really its a fun place to go once in a while with friends.
Its been awhile since i've gone, but this place has a GREAT rendition of Rocky Horror Picture Show which is done live in front of the screen while the movie is playing.
Expect to drop 60-70 dollars for food, beers, and movie between the 2 of you but you'll have a blast -

I always take my out-of-town friends here! I especially love the $3 college night since the food purchase pretty much evens out what you would spend at another place just for a ticket.
Pros: Lots of daily specials (check it out on their website), great margarita pitchers(!), really cool atmosphere with the decorations and theaters, under 18 kids must be accompanied by an adult.
Cons: Food purchase is required, waiters are distracting as they take everyone's order and serve everyone during the movie, extra noise from eating/squeaky chairs.
Overall, this place is really fun if you're looking to have dinner and a show. If you're going to see a movie that you're really excited about and want to pay close attention to, then don't come here! I've seen some great movies here that weren't ruined by the food service/waiters, but there have been times where I get a little lost while I'm ordering.
I also would not recommend coming here for a kids movie if you don't have them because the kids get extra distracted in these theaters since they're so decorated and they tend to be louder than what I've experienced at other theaters. -

I've been going to Hollywood Blvd for a few years and I must say that I am a fan of this place. Good prices on first run movies, a full bar in the lobby, and dinner & drinks during the movie--me likey!
I'm diggin' the décor of Hollywood Blvd. too. The lobby has an oriental feel to it; the hallway leading to all the theaters has pictures from classic movies on the walls, and every theatre has its own theme, ranging from Egyptian, to classics, to animation.
The best thing about this place is the fact that you can have dinner & drinks during the movie! Just grab a seat, place your order with your server, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Sometimes it can get pretty busy in here, depending on what movies are playing, what day of the week it is, and whether or not they are having a special event; but don't worry, if crowds aren't your thing, mosey on over to the bar & have a few drinks to wash away your agoraphobia while you wait for your theater to begin seating.
Hollywood Blvd. has got the right idea--new movies, booze, and food--all at good prices. The service is pretty good too, and fast, considering the fact that they have several theaters full of hungry and thirsty movie goers! I am definitely a fan of this place. I give it 5 stars: 4 stars overall plus 1 star for having The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturdays at midnight!

So I'm being Yelped at to Yelp.. but I'm not just gonna pop my Yelp cherry with anyone people, I have standards! Ok, I was just here last night so why not.
I am spoiled. I haven't been to a regular theater since the first time at Hollywood Boulevard (exception being needing to get my 3D on). Fear not! This newly expanded theater now has 3D!
All in all, you will spend more than a regular theater. However, the chairs are waaay more comfortable, you get food and cocktails (my favorite part). The tickets are only $8 and they give you a BOGO coupon for your next visit within a month. Food prices aren't bad but the food is nothing special. Their menu NEVER changes and don't expect gormet. Hey, its better than the usual $30 popcorn and have to pee every 5 min cola combo. It's a tad louder than your average cinema but you're not as crammed so when the movie starts you don't even notice.
I went here one night when they weren't busy and did a little exploring. They have a mini museum of movie memorabilia by the restrooms (its no Planet Hollywood) and one of the staff members showed us their special theaters upstairs and in the back (never actually seen a movie in either of these but the decor is awesome).
They have events every so often where they show classic movies and you can meet an actor or 2. This is where I met Christopher Lloyd!!! Every Saturday night at midnight they show Rocky Horror... people dress up... it's interesting to say the least.
Anyway, this place rocks and I've seen dozens of movies here. Definitley check it out. If you're closer to Naperville they also have their Hollywood Palms location (never been). (Would've been 5 stars if the food was better)Listed in: these playgrounds are where I…, VIP'n, ROTD

Review from Aimee M.
I like the concept of Hollywood Boulevard's dinner and a movie. Also, Dinner, DRINKS and a movie if you prefer. Each theater is made up of rows of swivel-y office chairs and long tables so that patrons can enjoy the dinner or appetizer of their choice while watching a flick. There's a bar in the lobby so folks can also enjoy a drink or two before the movie and even during the movie. There are weekly specials like 1/2 price pitchers of margaritas or $5 martinis on certain nights. And if you sign up for specials on the website, you can also get free tickets on your birthday. They also have rules on kids and certain times when kids aren't allowed.
The theater doesn't get very dark--for safety reasons of course, the servers need to maneuver around. And the chairs, although swivel-y, are not very comfortable. My first chair was stuck leaning all the way back so I was almost parallel to the floor. We switched it out to another chair that was rickety and also leaned way too far back. Not enjoyable at all. Either they are old and broken or just not good quality. Although the service is good and checks on you a bit. It kind of takes your attention away from the movie. We were watching a movie with a lot of fast dialogue and even though the servers are doing their job, it got to be pretty obtrusive. Perhaps if I return, it would be for an action movie where following dialogue isn't too important.
Even though you've already paid for the admission price, you still have to order at least one item on the menu. There is still popcorn and fountain drinks if you don't care for a meal. The hubs and I shared the chicken quesadillas and crab rangoon appetizers. It was pretty average and came out luke-warm.
I'm glad I checked it out, but for the quality of the food and theater, an "old fashioned dinner and a movie" for me is a better experience. It looks like they're doing a lot of renovation in the lobby--hopefully new chairs will be part of it. -

This is a fun place to see a movie with groups of people. The ticket prices are standard for movies. The catch is you must order something off of there full service menu. They do have 'movie theater food' you can order if you aren't looking for a full menu.
However it is a fun experience. If you get to the theater a little early they have a large lobby that had a full service bar. You can mingle with friends and have a drink. Once you enter the theater they have office chairs for seating and long tables. the font of the theater has circular tables to sit at. You then place your order. I usually like to go a lunch or dinner time since you can order a full meal there. They bring the food while the movie is starting and you eat while you watch the movie.
If you don't want to spend the money to have a meal while eating I suggest you go to just to a standard movie theater. This theater is my go to when I want to go out with a bunch for friends and make a whole night of it. -

I love coming to Hollywood and I usually come on Tuesday's cause the pitchers of Margarita's are 1/2 price that's right boys and girls I said 1/2 price !!! The food is really good too they have a really good pulled pork sandwich and the wings are mmm mmm good. I really enjoy coming here with my family, or with the girls for dinner and a movie and cocktails, or just on date night with the hubby. I live in the city and yet I will drive the distance to get my movie and margarita's on !!! -

I liked Hollywood Boulevard a lot but am a little disappointed every visit. It is a great concept and a good time. I like events and they have some pretty good events and stars who come to visit. They are mostly C and D list has beens but they have had some greats.
Nice theatres, seats are comfortable, the service is pretty non-intrusive. We just saw Limitless (very good, very surprised by Bradley Cooper!) and it is a pretty fast paced movie and the only annoying time is when they bring out the food about 15 minutes into the movie, they have a tendancy to bring out the whole joynt's food at the same time.
MY DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Thursday night is Martini night. They don't know how to make martinis! They are definetly not cold enough and I should order them on the rocks.
The food here is so average and mostly sub-par. If you want a good salad or something with reasonable calories., forget it here. There "light" stuff is lousy. I have had their nachos and beefs too here and while they are better than the healthy stuff, I as disappointed with the quality.
The pluses:
It is a fun place and a good time overall. Minutes away from me and they have great giveaways. Be sure to sign up for their e-mail list and you get goodies for your birthday month.
Hollywood B. is fun and I enjoy it but I would love to see them get there food in order!!!! Maybe fewer menu items and do 'em better???? -

I love this movie theater!!!
Comfy chairs, a full restaraunt, and full bar! I've been spoiled by this theater. The only time I don't watch movies here is if I wanted to watch something on an IMAX screen. They occasionally have film festivals (Wizard of Oz based, Quentin Tarentino, etc...) that always have some meet and greet with stars of the shows.
The ticket prices are equal to or cheaper than most movie theaters. There is a one item minimum along with the price of your ticket. This can be a soda if you're wanting a cheap night at the movies, but I usually get more. The food is good and they recently opened a Chinese restaraunt, but I have not eaten there yet. I will update once I've tried it. -

I've been coming here for years since they opened. It's always a fun place to go and to show your friends. "There's only like 2 of these in the 60 miles radius, you know" (I don't know, but they don't know that). The cool stuff: you get to watch a movie while lounging on an all executive-leather chair, getting your fingers dirty and saucy on a burger or chicken wings. Notice: an order is required per person so you can't get away with just a water (at least not if the staff can notice).
Tip: come with friends (it's much more fun), come hungry, and if possible, come with a coupon in hand. They give out coupons on a regular basis for free entrance passes for two. If you sign up to be part of their email club, they usually send your passes for free screenings too. So overall, there's really no excuse not to check this place out especially when you can see a free movie for the price of a meal. Just last week, I saw The American, The Other Guys, and Eat Pray Love all for free!!
Their food is OK, not the best but you'll live with it since you'll be so distracted in trying to keep up with the storyline. And it's also nice that at this theater, you wont see too many tweens. They serve alcohol so it's restricted admission. Yay to no more kids kicking in the back of your chair as you're trying to sit back.
And my last tip is, don't go here if you are going to be serious about watching something. Between all the whispering to the waiters about your order, them ducking with the person in front of you and behind you, them juggling to get the tray of food in to you in the dark while trying carefully not to spill on you, you will find yourself looking up every 10 minutes going "What?? What happened? What did I missed?" And likely, your friends wont fill you in on any of it because they either missed it too or they're just cruel. Yeah, I went here to watch Inception and.... totally didn't get it. Was far to distracted by my wings....
P.S: The Coconut room is the best room in the house. Hope that your movie is there at least once because it has a star-lit ceiling (not real stars though).Listed in: Interesting Places, Fun Places to Eat

Woodridge, IL
I absolutely love Hollywood Blvd. I've been going for years and seeing a movie any other way just doesn't compare. The food has always been consistently good, they're don't skimp on the alcohol either!
It can be tough to find parking on a Friday or Saturday night so definitely allow time for that. I prefer to get there 30 min before showtime so I can stake my spot in line. ;) I'd enjoy it even more if it was an adults only theater - I've been there to see movies with a theater full of kids and it takes away from grown up time.
They have fantastic special showings with really cool celebs - this weekend I'll be going to see "It's a Wonderful Life" for the 4th year in a row. Such a treat to see it on the big screen and listen to Zuzu give her shpiel on what it was like to be in the movie.
Servers are fantastic and do a great job with limited lighting and interference. The only other place I'll go to see a movie is their other location in Naperville which beats Woodridge by a hair. -

AUTOMATIC FIVE STARS!!!!!
Thanks to the Food Network, Hollywood Boulevard delivered! As in delivered food, beer, and cocktails to your movie seats (dining tables)! I was intrigued about this place after watching it on the Food Network. You can actually have appetizers, entrees, and dessert while you watch your movie. During my Chicago vacation, my friends and I caught two films "Grown Ups "and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". We took advantage of the Thursday night $5.00 martinis and got our drinks on! Screw going to nightclubs tonight.... we're at the movies!!!
The food is somewhat ok (typical bar food) serving pizza, burgers, fries, salads..... somewhat like an Applebees. Service was great - the wait staff quietly attends to your table without disturbing your movie. Helpful Note: Be sure to leave tip when your bill arrives at the end of the movie (the wait staff bust their asses for you!). You can still do the popcorn and soda thing, but I wanted the whole dining and movie experience. I'm so happy I did. We have nothing like this in the Bay Area!
As for the venue, Hollywood Blvd is lavished with familiar celebrity posters, movie paraphernalia, old stage props, wax statues, and a full scale bar. Imagine having your favorite cocktails before watching a movie. And yes... you can bring them with you to the movie theater.
Helpful Notes:
- Best time to watch a movie is dinner time. Make it a DATE NIGHT!
- Evening movies are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for kids / senior citizens.
- Parking: Plenty. Its located in a shopping plaza.
- Special Deals: Visit their website weekly for special deals like half off bucket beers, college night, $5.00 nights, etc....etc...etc...
Again, I really wish we had one of these theaters in the Bay Area!
* sigh *
