10 reviews for Hollywood 2002
It's my 4th month in New York and after video conferencing with father and consulting the state of my hair (grew a lot) he suggested it was time to go in, but this time not to cut too much at the bottom that skin would show.
I also agreed and wanted to change up the style such that it would be the same great hair cut but cut less short. I just showed up and asked for Albert. Albert is the best in my opinion. In one sentence, he knew what to do.
Haircutting is an art and there IS a difference to who you go. For $12 dollars this AMAZING!
Professional + Consistency + a true Gentleman's haircut = one stop and your out to worry about other things.
When I come here, it is one thing I don't have to worry about, it's always perfect! And not worrying is a nice thing for only $12 dollars.
The best in Manhattan and United States of America for the matter.!!!

First time in NYC... moved here and needed a haircut. If you are from Brooklyn, come here, it IS… Read more »
Alex always manages to make me look better than I did when I walked in, and for a mere $13.
He's the man.
I am really sorry I listened to these reviews. To me, a $12 haircut that looks like a $7 haircut is not my idea of a barbershop.
I told the guy (no, I didn't catch the name, sorry) that I wanted it cut a little long. I emphasized that. It was all yes, fine, fantastic, no problem. I'm a bit nearsighted so I can't really talk an amateur hair-cutter through the process, which I can't really see, and I came out of it looking like a Marine at Basic Training. Someone told me yesterday, before I said a word, that it looked like I got a "butch" haircut.
To me, a good barber is somebody who will do what *you* want, not the kind of haircut they can do in their sleep. Maybe the other guys are all geniuses and this idiot is the only bad one, but I am not going back again.
I get your basic haircut. I got tired of paying $25 for that. I started going here 3 years ago. Men's haircuts start at $12. Alex and Yuriy and the other stylists know how to shape hair and make you look good. And the price can't be beat.
Try it, you'll like it.
I went here for a haircut today and I left very satisfied. Very friendly and inviting people working there, who are definitely good at what they do.
There's nothing special or unique about this place, the only thing that stands out is that its the cheapest haircut you can find anywhere at $12 for a basic men's haircut. By the way they'll cut women's hair but this is mainly a men's barber shop. It's not a fancy clean high class place, its your typical older somewhat grungy foreigner (Greek?) run barber shop. It's not the best haircut I've ever had but it's a decent place to walk right in, not have to wait and pay next to nothing for a decent haircut (they're cash only).
I'm a cheap haircut kind of guy. Hollywood 2002 is my kind of place. Alex gave me a kick ass haircut for $12 and some good conversation to boot. It's probably not for everyone but if your hair is low maintenance and you live in the neighborhood... this is your joint.
This place is a fantastic neighborhood barber shop. These guys always make me feel welcome are friendly and fast. A real asset to 14th Street.
Just went here for the first time and Yuri gave me a great haircut for $12, an unbelievable deal. Afterwards he told me he wanted to see me back again in 3 or 4 weeks. I said it'd be more like 5 or 6, and then he told me to tell my friends to come in. So, a great haircut for a great price, with a mildly annoying but perhaps unsurprising bit of pressure to return and to spread the word. What I look for in a barber is someone who really focuses and pays close attention to detail. Yuri was certainly that on my first haircut... Let's see if he stays that way once he pegs me for a regular.
Had my first haircut here with Yuriy today. He was every attentive and asked questions to make sure that everything was exactly the way I wanted it. He paid close attention to detail. I am very satisfied and for $12, I'll be back.
