I like hotels, I can't deny that.
I like them a lot more when they come with great service though.
Habib ( I am dead serious) was not at all happy to have been woken from his behind-the-desk nap, and was about as helpful as a tea towel in a rainstorm.
I have membership with the rewards program HI offers, and I KNOW that they can look the acct. up by basic info, but he insisted that he couldn't do anything for me. I finally gave up, and decided to try my luck with the morning shift person. Good thing I did, because Nancy (who is a TOTAL sweetheart) let me know that Mr. I-don't-wanna-do-my-job gets a lot of complaints, and that she would pass my complaint along. Here is the really funny part though, Habib is the Customer Service Supervisor.
This HI underwent a renovation a few years back, and the improvement is dramatic. ( I stayed there a few times prior to it)
The room was spacious, with surprisingly nice linens and towels, and a pillow menu! I am a total pillow junkie, the more the better, and they not only will give you as many as you need, they actually have different kinds available, as well as other basics you may have forgotten. This property also has a pool in the back, and an cafe that serves breakfast. Unfortunately the food is pricey, and not too tasty. If you have AAA, make sure to mention it when asking for your rate, as they often have discounts available.

My boyfriend actually had to come here for a business trip so since I had those days off, I came along as well. The bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows (can't complain about that!!). The employees were nice and the food at the restaurant on site was good too.
I felt like we were the only ones in the hotel since I didnt see many people there.
Other than that, I didnt mind staying there at all!
So, I spent a night here last week. It wasn't half bad, the rooms were big, the beds were comfy, there was an Internet connection and free parking.
Of course, it's in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. On top of that, the room rate for the night was around $128. Good thing I didn't pay for that. Our room at the Omni Hotel the few nights after was cheaper, and it was actually close to stuff.
But hey, if this is the place you have to be, this Holiday Inn is as good as any.
I can't believe I am staying at a Holiday Inn. I guess that is what the dot bust does to the travel budget. While it is quite difficult for one who is used to the opulence of five star accommodations, I have no choice. Gone are the days of lounging at a Sol Melia in Caracas, the Hudson in New York, or MyHotel Bloomsbury in London. It's back to basics as the internet industry recuperates from its premature boom.
I would have rated this hotel a two or one star, but surprisingly, the Holiday Inn at Woodland Hills is not as Holiday Inn'ish as I expected it to be.
The room is clean and spacious. The bathroom fixtures: marble top; though the space and shower/tub is standard. It is surprisingly comfortable. Amenities are not luxurious, I did not expect Kiehl, but at least lotion is included along with a sample size shampoo and conditioner. Free wireless access = plus one star for a sum of three.
The staff is very professional, while the restaurant wait staff endearing. Tonight I had a light dinner while hoping to work. The internet access was weak in the area and my waitress was so worried over my inability to access the network, she called the front desk to check on the status of the connection. I had to explain to her that it's ok, it's possible that the restaurant is out of range. I truly appreciated her sincere concern. Good customer service stems from the heart.
