3 reviews for Holiday Inn
I needed a place to crash for a wedding I was attending in Palos Verdes. I went on http://Hotwire.com to choose between a 2-star hotel and a 3-star hotel ($48/nt vs. $68/nt). My friend told me that Torrance can be pretty ghetto, so I just paid a little extra for the 3-star hotel. I wasn't expecting much but a clean bed to sleep in a relatively safe area. (Hotwire doesn't let you know what hotel it is until after you pay).
So when I got the confirmation that it was Holiday Inn, I thought "cool." When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel, the size of the room, and the good service. We also ate at the Ginger cafe attached to the hotel. They have good French toast, but the rest of the food is so-so (service can be slow since there was only one waitress in the morning). Anyway, this is a great place to crash if you are in town, and the quality of the hotel is pretty decent for the price. (I think Motel 6 charges $50/night! I'd rather pay an extra $20 for sheets that don't smell like funk)

I'm happy to know I'm not the only one that thinks this place sucks ass. bad location, bad service, and bad decor
Wow...what a nightmare of a hotel.
But to be fair: This is with their group reservations, and I haven't actually stayed there. But their customer service is awful.
Our company is about 5 blocks away from the Holiday Inn, so we definitely are interested in having a corporate rate with them. We used to have a corporate account with them, but mysteriously, I found out that we stopped a few years back.
Well, now I found out why.
I tried booking reservations with this hotel, but changes came up, and they were really inflexible and both the hotel rep and the manager basically said, "Well...you signed the contract, and yes, it looks as if we screwed you over. But, hey!...You signed the contract, so...too bad!"
Ugh...never again will I allow any of our business guests to stay there. I'm sending them to the Marriott on 190th instead. It's cheaper than the Holiday Inn, and the lobby looks absolutely gorgeous and homely.
