REVIEW FOR THE HOTEL BAR ONLY.
This place has a pretty awesome happy hour in their hotel bar! It's about $3 for STIFF drinks and free buffet! Every weekday from like 4-6 or something around there; normal happy hour hours. Woo!
The bar is on the top floor with a pretty cool view. The clientele isn't great.. I mean, this isn't where you'd go on a date, or to GET a date.. it's just some middle aged business men from the hotel, but it's nice enough and come on... $3 for stiffys and free food!? Do I need to repeat that or do you get my point?? :)
This place is going to be memorable because it was where our class celebrated the last day of class! The hotel roof bar was FUN, especially since I had secret crushes going on that night (2). Unfortunately, I was a starving student and did not have the balls to make a move on either guy. Now I TOTALLY regret it!!!!! Oh well, maybe they will chase me soon???? LOL. Geez I hate how passive I am. Cute but passive.....
Aww Valentine's Day...
It is the perfect day to spend a bunch of money on the one you love...
My amazing boyfriend brought me here for dinner last night, the food was delish. It consisted on either salad or soup to start (both were great), fish or fillet mignon for entree (the fillet mignon was amazing) and for dessert either nutella crepes or a pomegranate dessert which were both so good!
What I didn't know is that the evening wasn't over! He had a room and there were strawberries and champagne when we got there apparently also part of the Valentine's Day special... it was great.
The rooms are very pretty, very big, and the bed was very comfortable.
It was a great evening spent only a few blocks away from home!
:)
Happy Hour up high the elevators creepy.
But happy hour snacks are free and was sushi.
The drinks were strong the service was great.
Was not crowded.
Good place to go while waiting for your tire to be fixed across the street.
Okay, here's the thing. I love mid-century architecture, and the prospect of staying in what is clearly a testament to that influence has always led me to consider staying at this Holiday Inn. Well, as fate would have it, we needed to stay away a day from our home and it happened to be the weekend of the TED convention in Long Beach. Every downtown hotel was either going for a fortune or booked. I thought that this was the perfect option for one night. I got in late and was tired enough from work to go to sleep fairly quickly- I am also a pretty heavy sleeper. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of my boyfriend. As a light sleeper, he was bothered by the TREMENDOUS NOISE made by the 405 freeway. It doesn't help matters that the sliding glass door that leads to a 8 inch deep balcony (why bother?) only partially covered by a drape. The other half simply has a sheer curtain covering it-Great sound buffer!!!
This place would have qualified for way more stars had that not occured. The room was clean, the staff courteous and an easy check in and out. So, for those of you considering this place - ASK FOR A ROOM AWAY FROM THE FREEWAY. Cheers!
We came here again for our annual event last night. Instead of a buffet, this time we pre-ordered our entrees from a choice of three. Salad, entrees, and dessert were delivered directly to our tables, and once again, the food was pretty good! Check it out for your next event if you want a central location that's not too expensive.

I came to the Holiday Inn for a fancy gala held in the hotel's Sunset Ballroom. The food, served… Read more »
At the ho-tel mo-tel Ho-li-day Innnnn...
It's hard to miss this spherical construction, towering over the 405.
This addition to the Long Beach skyline usually marks the return of my journey whenever I venture south on the freeway or fly in from a Jet Blue bargain destination.
This bar/lounge is one of Long Beach's hidden gems. Complete with a panoramic view, this is the ideal spot to blow off a little steam and chill-ax coming off a long flight from the nearby airport.
The view is a great first impression of our city to visiting friends and relatives. The bar is always stocked by a regular stable of thrifty bartenders and the menu prices are very reasonable.
The elevation makes for a perfect nightcap setting after a movie.
Conveniently located right off the 405 freeway (Lakewood S. exit) buy a pint & wings while the rush hour traffic dies down, but you don't have to limit your tastebuds & play it safe here, try the Ceviche and Calamari.
Don't let not having a hotel room discourage you from talking to the temporary out-of-town residents, if the view doesn't persuade you to stay, the friendly atmosphere might,-)
Used it as a bridge to our cruise trip which departed from Long Beach.Awesome package: 1 night stay and they allowed us to park for FREE for up to 14 days + FREE shuttle from/to the docks. Can`t beat it for the convenience factor. There is FREE Internet downstairs,a gym (pretty basic) and a pool. Not fancy at all but very effective for the dollar spent. We`ll stay there again,if in a similar situation.
I stayed at this hotel over 20 years ago. I was 8 years old and my family and I were on our way back home from Disneyland. We lived in San Diego at the time. Anyways, we were so tired that we stopped at this hotel and crashed for the night.
I remember loving this strange round hotel--except for the fact that I lost my brand new pair of Minnie Mouse earrings.
Anyway, my point is that this place pops up in my mind as a place of refuge. After two days of trying to find a decent hotel in the HB/LB area to stay at (EVERYTHING WAS BOOKED!!!) the Hotel Motel Holiday Inn had available rooms.
We only stayed for one night. But it was great. I watched Little Miss Sunshine on cable, ordered room-service (really really good salmon, a bottle of wine, and dessert), showered and crashed.
For the weary traveller that is all we want: bread and a bed.
AND the room rate was very reasonable. Come on, I was weary and didn't want no Motel 6 or Super 8 status, ya know what i mean?
Good props for the Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport.
This place is tall and round with a restaurant/bar on top called Panorama Grill. This bar is a place where someone could get into trouble for sure! I saw a lady walk out of there with a magnum of vodka hidden under her coat. Hopefully she was going back to her room and not to her car. Anyway, who woulda thunk the crazy partying was happening far above the clouds of the LBC.
