I was in Houma on business and the Holiday Inn was recommended as a place to stay. The hotel seems very, very new so maybe they have not worked the kinks out yet. For a Holiday Inn it was very nice, I typically stay at Hilton's or Marriott's so I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, the flat panel TV, nice bed, but right off to bat the TV in my room didn't work, figured out it was the remote. Called to the front desk and was told that since there was no one else in the hotel to help me so if I could come down to the front desk they would give me a new remote. I guess this would be ok if it was late, but the front desk attendant is the only person at the hotel at 7pm???
The only issue I had with the hotel is the walls were paper thin, I could hear everything that was going on in the adjacent rooms, out in the halls, I think I could even hear the people above and below me. It was quite irritating to be honest with you.
Finally on my last night the hotel lost all electricity from 8 pm until midnight, luckily my laptop had a full charge, but I couldn't get on the internet to check mail and fully work on things.
I paid what I feel was a higher than average price for this class of hotel. I have paid less for nicer hotels that offer higher service. I can't say I would recommend a stay here, but then again I don't know how it compares to the other hotels in town.
