The rooms were fine but don't waste your money eating at the attached restaurant. The food tasted like something you'd pick up from the freezer section of a bargain store.

I stay here when doing business at Wheaton College and I'm very impressed with the rooms at this hotel. They are spacious and well kept--attended to very nicely by housekeeping. There's plenty of room and I'm always happy to head back to my room after a long day. In fact, I stayed at a Hyatt just after leaving this Holiday Inn and would much prefer the room at this Carol Stream Holiday Inn! Free wifi is a MAJOR BONUS too.

Ok, I am the "dear Mother" Dave G. referred to (last review), his new Mother in Law. I too called 2 days after special rate expiration date. After much discussion, put on hold, etc., a very accommodating clerk, Michelle, assured me I had 4 rooms reserved at the special wedding block rate, 1 of which I reserved for the bride & groom. I was very happy at this point.
Fast forward to wedding day, Front Desk checking in, (2 hours till wedding) our rooms are at the full rate ,+$30.00 each room. Back & forth, call this manager, takes 15 minutes to come, she can't help, call someone else, more time, no one comes. I am now upset, no way "ornery", as I need to get to wedding, pictures have started, bride keeps calling, where am I? This is customer service?? I finally leave to settle this later (should have done this to begin with). Get to my room, can barely breath, (they had only 2 non smoking rooms left), this was above and beyond a 'smoking room'".
Then to find out they had called the groom 2 hours before his wedding to complain about me?!??! I am furious!! What did they want him to do, was no one at the hotel capable of handling this without calling him!? In the world of Price Line, http://Hotels.com, I know how flexible rates are.
Holiday Inn needs to look at their policies and how their customers are treated when there is a problem. I will tell all our friends about this and encourage them to not stay at Holiday Inns!
PS- In spite of this, the wedding, at Klein Creek Golf Course was very beautiful and this was the only minor (very) flaw!!! -

I recently had my wedding at this hotel. The ceremony and reception were held in the tent and then the ballroom. The location is PERFECT, the hotel is very well kept and the prices were excellent. The package for our wedding included EVERYTHING and they gave us a great deal.
The staff? Not so much. It took weeks to get responses back from the "wedding coordinator" Debbie. She was very rude in them also. We had our rehearsal at the hotel the night before and she was talking to my stepped who was looking at her pictures in her office. She didn't know I stopped to ask a question when she said, "Well, I sure hope the marriage outlasts the wedding photos!" When she looked up, saw me, she just said, "oops!".
I was told to bring all my stuff the night before for them to put out on the tables and ceremony. I guess they decided to NOT decorate the ceremony for us and did not say anything. The ceremony got decorated 30 min prior to the start! When asked, they said it "Wasn't their job!"
I would NOT recommend them if you are looking for a wedding location. Sure, the price is right but I guess you get the service you pay for. -

I think I was maybe expecting a little bit better since Chicagoland seems to be a more competitive hotel market, plus seeing the size of the building itself made me think that the hotel might be a little nicer. There have been a lot of complaints about the dated decor, which are valid for the common areas, but the room I had on the 3rd floor appeared to have been renovated. My wife and kids said the pool was freezing cold in October, which seemed to be odd, and there were only two luggage carts in the entire hotel, which made bringing in our luggage difficult when they were both in use. On the other hand, the bed was great, and I probably had the best night's sleep of any non-resort hotel where I've ever stayed. Besides the pool, there wasn't a whole lot for our kids to do besides run up and down the hallways downstairs. It looks like a hotel in transition, but they're not quite there yet.

We just were married very close to the Holiday Inn Carol Stream, we had a block rate for our guests, in the midst of all of the planning I neglected to get a room for my bride and I. I called 2 days after the block rate expired and was unable to have it extended for myself(the groom). Ok not a huge deal, there's plenty of places to stay for the standard rate!
Jump to the wedding day! Debbie the group rate contact decided to call me 2 hours before my wedding ceremony to inform me that my mother was being unruley at the front desk, as she was unable to get the block rate the day of the ceremony. I don't care who is causing a scene at the front desk, where's the tact, calling me 2 hours before my wedding! Not to mention my dear mother passed away a few years ago. Where does Holiday Inn find their customer service people? The DMV rejects?
Looking back I had "smokers" complain about the condition of their smoking allowed rooms, infact they claimed the entire 4th floor was almost intollerable, with the stench of smoke.
This place sucks! It's a shame their are some great venues in the vicinity that could send many patrons their way, but I really hope they don't and spare others from the terrible service at Holiday Inn Carol Stream. -

We have a lot of our training classes here and the sales department is great to work with. We always have a lot of last minute things that need to be taken care of and all it takes is a call and the girls in the sales department are on it. If you are looking for an off site meeting area give Leslie in the sales department a call.
