Deserves a minus one ... but ... a few things made me feel bad to really castrate this business ... or maybe not.
After a long day at the Valley, I met a formidable equal, the Ms. World of High Tech Engineering ... yes, us female geeks cling to each other forever, only because it's already rare to find intelligence, anywhere, then to find another intelligent FEMALE Engineer???? Daym... us geeks, we stick to each other, like Elmer's Glue, irregardless of race, creed, or gender...
Ooops, I went into a James Joyce tangent, so back to the point.
Why is this place one or LESS??
LESS because it sucks...
ONE star because it seems to be clean, we were shocked to see a clean Holiday Inn Express.
Why less? After a very tiring and long day, as we got into check-in, the front desk girl (or kid?) with a very uncustomer friendly disposition (or should I say with a terrible attitude problem), imposed the burden of waiting for almost an hour until she resolved with whoever her escalation mgr was their inability to process over five of my friend's credit card due to their malfunctioning system. It was a horrible experience, one you'd expect at a Motel Six or something, but not at a so-called hotel chain.
WHY? ... I asked, is it the device that could be defective? your database? the network? What?
The kid, yes KID behind the desk was frazzled, and eluded a very abhorrent attitude that made me think, is this simply the new generation's attitude? Is this experience a result of a generation of unmotivated peeps, or perhaps her parents forgot to provide proper upbringing and breeding. I think it is the latter, because even my son and nieces/nephews with their hipster attitude do not fail to demonstrate proper breeding when required.
After a very long hour, my friend was able to check-in in a supposedly NON-SMOKING floor, yet as we ascended the elevator and STAIRS (yes, Stairs after elevator), to drop-off her luggage and freshen up, stale whiffs of cigarette scents greeted our nostrils - the hallway smelt like an ashtray.
Her room was not bad, she was welcomed with fresh sheets, marble bathroom, a pathetically small window.
Avoid this place like a plague.
