Nice king.  42 inch plasma.  Normal tub :(  Under two bills.

Wireless internet works well for a hotel.  As this post attests.  Right by the Fashion Island mall and Huntington Beach.

Overall, very pleasant.

Right on the Pacific Coast Highway, $179 to $199/night. The bed was comfy, pillows were marked "firm" or "soft", flat panel tv, free breakfast (pastry, eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee, bagels, and cereal). All families here vacationing.
Toiletries smelled like cinnamon buns, nicer than expected for a Holiday Inn!

Its an extremely clean hotel - sheets are great, bed was wonderful, pillows in hard or soft, very clean and nice bathroom.  Everything looked like it had been remodeling in the past year or two.    A great bargin w a fridge, internet, etc.
Breakfast is free and its way better than your avg free breakfast - eggs, bacon, and AMAZING cinnamon rolls (seriously, i am not joking, way better than you get at the airport or at IKEA or anything).

The one bad point is the pool is kinda in the parking area, but i still hung out and read and went for a dip one afternoon and its in great shape, very clean - just not the best location.

Simply smart.

That is the motto they now have about their new bedding collection... and I like it because it's true. No longer do you have to deal with the usual gross, stiff comforters once provided on their beds. Instead, they have crisp, clean, fitted sheets... a duvet blanket... and a soft fleece throw to top it all off. You also get your choice of soft or firm pillows... very smart.

Other than that, the bathrooms were super clean and the shampoos, lotions, and things of that like, all smelled like sugar cookies... or cinnamon buns even. Whether or not that's intentional to promote the free breakfast bar they offer, which includes fresh cinnamon buns, it was a nice touch to my showering experience at the Holiday Inn.

My only complaint?

The free high-speed internet never worked in our room when we hooked it up... and no one was able to help us fix that problem either, but oh well. Oh, and also I hate the fact that I inhaled two and a half cinnamon buns quickly after my shower... so much for not breaking the diet while on vacation!

Average run of the mill Holiday Inn.  However, the price is quite decent for the location since it's near the ocean and in Newport Beach.  Firm beds and pillows, WiFi.  Close enough to decent bars/clubs and restaurants for you to cab it.
