For the price that we paid, it suited us totally. However, we were opposite the linen closet and they are quite loud when they slam those doors shut. The breakfast was good, but mobbed at 8:30...tasty cinnamon rolls. Slow elevators and the computers in the "business center" are very popular but I didn't see any safes or anything in the room to put your laptop. They do offer free wi-fi so that would be helpful if we decide to come back again, which we probably would since the location is fabulous.
Located 2 blocks South from where the Bolt Bus drops you off from Boston.
Pros:
Location, location, location! Subway station was a min away and easy access to Manhattan, Madison Sq Garden, Times Sq, etc. We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite and I appreciated a bubbly hot bath so much.
Cons:
The suite was right next to the hotel storage and hotel staffs were in and out all day all night. It was very noisy and cleaning carts and other things were always on the way to our room; this was really bad. Breakfast place was small and it was really crowded from the time it opened till it closed. Many people had to eat while standing.
One thing I really did not like:
I had an airline send my delayed baggage to this hotel. I gave a heads-up to a hotel staff a few times. I even called the hotel while I was away to ensure they knew my bag was coming. My bag was supposed to be delivered by 3PM and I called the hotel after 3PM. The hotel staff told me that it was not there. So, I came back to the hotel and asked the front staffs about it. They were like, "It is not here. Nobody brought anything. You should call the airline and you really need to push them." I called the airline and they said it was delivered already, so I checked at the front office again.
You know what, my delayed luggage had been sitting in the back of the front office for the whole time!!!! Hello??!!!! Then, the hotel staffs "Ah, yea, it is here." No word of apology was given and I was so upset about their attitude.

Location is great. Rooms were decent. Breakfast was included. Priceline taken advantage of.

This hotel was opened fairly recently and I ended up staying here about 4-5 different times during the last half of 2007. They must have been dumping a lot of rooms on hotwire, but they were consistently the cheapest "normal" hotel room I could get on Manhattan during the fall and holiday season.
It's clean, has a nice little gym, and a free breakfast buffet. The 24 hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate service in the lobby is really nice during the cold NY winter months. The rooms are small but not overly cramped. The location is really convenient since it's just a few blocks from Penn Station, with easy access to the subway and a pretty short ride either up or downtown.
This is a good no-frills place to spend your sleeping hours, if you need something more fancy then go somewhere else.

This place does the job if you want to be close to it all. The rooms are small but nice. Let me mention the free breakfast, not bad Holiday Inn EXPRESS. If you want to save some money and don't mind a small room this place is it. I wish I would have known about this place the first time I came to New York. I will never forget this hotel, I was there the night of the elections, when Obama Won. It was amazzing to see the excitement of the city it was so the perfect place to be for me at that time. Cool then there's that, really though try the comped b-fast it was good.

Priceline directed us to this hotel and we were not let down. GREAT location -- central to everything we needed, especially for the two taking buses to DC/Boston which picked up right outside Penn Station. Room was decent, comfortable for 3 of us. Breakfast was adequate, but what we really took advantage of was the coffee/hot chocolate machine in the lobby that seemed to available to us 24/7 -- nice!
This is a good hotel for "cheap" in NYC. It is clean and pretty convenient to subway stations. My 2 biggest pet peeves are the auto closing door on the bathroom not letting air in to prevent mold and mildew. For the record, I didn't see any. The other is the air conditioner/heater unit. It is directly beside the desk and there is no real way to move from getting cold air on you if you need to do some work. The wi-fi was sporadic. Luckily I didn't need it that much. Just be prepared to have spotty service if you stay here. I would stay here again, but it will depend on what hotel Hotwire or Priceline get me.
