Pretty standard hotel - beds, bathrooms, breakfast, etc. I will say that the beds were pretty comfy - nice and firm, which is my preference. Pillows could have been better, but they were fine. Breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express, with decent cinnamon rolls, and the rest of the thaw it out/heat it up type items. I will mention, however, that the bathroom displayed a distinct lack of ventilation - and therefore, it joins...the list. Staff was friendly. Just a totally normal, pleasant experience.

The rate was astonishingly cheap - $73 after tax for double occupancy. Maybe because this was for a Saturday night, and this hotel is largely for business travelers during the week? But either way, I'll take it.

If you need a place to stay near the RDU airport, there are about a dozen options. Probably all the hotels down this 'hotel row' will pick you up right at the airport Terminal 2, at Stand #15. Have the friendly staff inside the airport call for you and by the time you get outside, the van will be waiting for you. I had a friendly driver who was courteous and helpful at giving directions, and carting me around the area.
Check in was easy, the touchscreen TV in the lobby gives arrivals, departures and nearby restaurants. The friendly staff behind the desk gave me recommendations for a solo dinner and the driver dropped me off and picked me up - like my mom driving me to the Italian restaurant.
Free breakfast provides healthy, and not so healthy options.  Check out isn't til noon.
Only complaint was the non-ventilated bathroom that got a bit too damp after a shower.

The staff was the rudest staff that I've encountered and thoroughly incompetent.  Especially Jed.  After I checked in he called my room to ask for a copy of my driver's license as if I am a criminal.  This of course is after they swiped my cc and it was processed. Racial profiling even in hotels is unacceptable.  When I asked him why he needed my driver's license he didn't answer.  Moreover, he went on to tell me that I had gotten the room for cheap and that he cares about his daily room average.  Jed needs to be fired.  I think that a room that is occupied is better than an empty room and a pissed off customer who is going to write reviews about him everywhere.

Disappointed at everything. First off, the Holiday Inn Express near RDU in Raleigh was empty but was placed in a room on the smoking floor right across from the elevator. The whole hotel had a certain smell to it. Rooms were not clean, neither were the bathrooms. Front desk staff was snotty. Breakfast was not that good either, not many choices.

    Would not go there again.
