we were looking for a place to stay near pismo for a night and decided to book the HI express because the rates were less expensive than all the other hotels in the area. its less than 10 minutes to pismo beach and around 15 minutes to slo.

it turned out to be a great hotel. the room was really spacious, clean, and the bed was huge and really comfortable!  the only negative was that the bed wasn't facing the tv but the tv swivels out, so its not that big of deal. it would have been nice if the tv was a little bigger/nicer but oh well, we weren't there to watch tv.

theres also a free continental breakfast that we didn't take advantage of but definitely a perk in staying here

check in/check out was quick.. definitely wouldn't mind staying here again if i'm back in the area

I stay at Holiday Inn Expresses while on the road.  Especially if there doesn't seem to be much else or if everything else is either overpriced or a flop.

This holiday inn has to be one of the unsung jewels in the area.  It is tucked away in an area just south of Pismo Beach, kind of hard to find as it is behind a restaurant and nestled behind some trees.  The rooms were clean and roomy, the bed was nice and firm, they have a little fridge and free WiFi so you can write a Yelp review.  The price of the place was surprisingly reasonable, about 80 bucks including tax.

The breakfast was pretty good although typical Holiday Inn Express fare, the only negative was that the scrambled eggs tasted a bit like they were made from powdered eggs.

All in all this is an excellent place to stay.  I would return if in the area in the future.

We pulled into this hotel totally stressed out from a long rainy drive and were greeted by the happiest counter person I have ever seen. Excellent price. Don't be put off by the smell of the carpet in the hall. Our room glistened. Someone cleaned the room within an inch of its life. Spotless.

Great location. We could see the sign for Pismo Beach from our window.

The funky western restaurant that shares the parking lot closes at 9, and we couldn't find an open dinner place nearby. So we chowed down for breakfast the next morning at the hotel's large complimentary breakfast bar. A great deal indeed.

You can go into a coma on their beds.

If you need a good sleep I suggest you check in to this hotel, let your head hit either the firm or soft pillows and knock the hell out. When you wake up (if you wake up in time) you get a decent free hot breakfast. I also forgot to mention that the rooms are super clean and its just miles from Pismo Beach. Its a hell of a deal for the price they ask.
