Compared to the other options in the area this place is like the mother fu**in Ritz-Carlton.

Don't bother saving $50 on other options - you'll be dissapointed and only end up here on your next trip to Thunderhill.

Wife and I were up in Chico visiting her family for the holidays and needed a place to stay. My wife grew up in this area and since the Holiday Inn was close to where we were visiting, we decided to stay here.

This Holiday Inn is located right off the 99 and hard to miss. It's a decent enough hotel with plenty of amenities. They have an on premise Indian Restaurant, Gym, Pool, a Small Business Center, and even an Event Center/Banquet Area. They also have a sports bar here in case you want to get your drink on.

One of the advantage of this Holiday Inn is that they are a Pet Friendly Hotel which was perfect for us since we were traveling with our two small dogs. They allow up to 10 pets but you have to pay I believe about a $30 pet deposit, which wasn't a problem for us.

My wife checked in and we brought in everything including the doggies up to the room. This is just the "basics" kind of hotel and you can tell the place was old (probably built in the 80s) but they did a decent enough job of maintaining the place. We got a decent size room with a queen bed. Everything was clean here and the bed nicely made so that was fine. They have basic cable here and HBO but nothing as fancy as flat screen TVs here. The bathroom is clean and both the shower and toilet are in the same room. They offer both WiFi and cable internet for free which is a nice plus.

A couple of other bonuses this Holiday Inn offers, one is if you are a priority club member, you get a nice little gift bag filled with information about Chico, coupons, cookies, water, etc. The other nice things is you get two comp drinks down at their bar and a free breakfast buffet. The buffet is really nothing special and just contains the basic of scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and your carbs such as bagels, toast, and cereal. Not much to complain about since it is free, I just wish they also had something sweet too like donuts or muffins.

We paid about $220 for 2 nights stay including the deposit for the doggies. We did hear some noise through out the night and during our time here but that's not unusual for this kind of hotel and it wasn't that bad after 10PM. Lots of little extra goodies to make up for the fact this is an older hotel and extra bonus for being a Pet Friendly Hotel. Solid 4 star experience staying at the Holiday Inn in Chico.

This is one of the nicer, non-luxury type hotels I have been to in awhile. The rooms were super clean and the decor wasn't tacky. The bed was comfortable and actually had a cotton blanket on it...COTTON! Cotton  is usually unheard of in hotels!

Rooms are equipped with desks, fridges, microwaves, coffee makers, and lock boxes. Also, very nice pillows, and they gave us four, not just two!  There's a bar in the lobby and drinks aren't too expensive. This hotel is a good value.

5 stars based on other Holiday Inn's I've been to.  I've stayed here every time I went to Chico for college recruiting.  I give the front desk 5 stars.  Great customer service.  Free buffet breakfast is adequate.  Not just your typical continental breakfast.  Plenty of parking.

We love this place! While the rooms are certainly standard, nothing too fancy unless you get the jacuzzi suite, there are certain intangibles that make the Holiday Inn truly special. The front desk staff is helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and good looking, and the in house restaurant serves up gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel bar is staffed by talented, pleasant bartenders who are willing to cater to your every need. The Holiday Inn gets five full stars!
