6-26-08 stopped here going from Moab,UT to Mesa Verde, CO. This is a fun a and interesting place but it is missing a place to eat. There is a mini mart, souvenir/jewelry store, and the Hole N'the Rock souvenir/museum. I didn't take the tour of the Hole N'the Rock store, it was about $5 and no photos allowed so forget it. I did get a waffle cone ice cream in the mini mart and spent some time looking at the stuff like the metal junk sculptures, very good. There is an old tow truck, funny out house, and neon signs also. The cactus landscape was in bloom. Nice place to stop and take a break.
Its more of a cave than a hole. It used to be a someone's home at one time, but its now a roadside attraction. There's a gift shop, a petting zoo, and a memorial to the guy who carved out the hole. Definitely worth the stop.
