Wow. The ice cream was so very much awesome good. Maybe it's because I'm a big fan of soft serve, or maybe because the hot fudge sundae was perfect. The chocolate wasn't too sweet or fake tasting, the ice cream was thick and creamy, the whipped cream was actual whipped cream not some fake "whipped topping" and the nuts were fresh and not stale as in a lot of other places.
My friend got a dipped butterscotch cone. She gobbled it up. She said the butterscotch is a little waxier than the kind at Dairy Queen and she liked it a lot more.
Like everyone said, it's really small there, so be prepared to stand in line. There is plenty of street parking and benches to sit. If you're ever in the area, definitely give this a try.
Ever wonder what clouds taste like?
Go to this place, get the vanilla custard and you'll have your answer!
Seriously, smooth, creamy deliciousness.
Small little shop, nice staff. A few benches scattered about the street for people watching.
They always have this really delicious chocolate and peanut butter frozen yogurt that I get swirled together. Yum.
This past Sunday my mom and I stopped in and enjoyed the peach froyo.
The price is right here and if you're on the run stop in.
The place to go if you want a good diptop custard cone. And check out the banana split.
This little Ice Cream place is soo good. We would drive past this place and say " hey we need to try it." Well we tried it and we LOVED IT. They have a huge menu with tones of homemade deliciousness. The banana split was so delicious. The woman who made it loaded it up and it was so YUMMY. They even have a variety of ice cream sandwiches. The service she was so friendly and they are cash only. Were going back soon.
Soft serve like you remember as a little kid. Great custards, yummy sundaes and delish shakes. Don't go there looking for 31 flavors, it's simple flavors and oh so good.
Aptly named. Fabulous custard. There's always a line on any nice summer evening. The cookies and creme swirl is my favorite.
Great ice cream! If your trying to eat healthy or lose weight, the frozen custards great also. You can get sundaes, or regular ice cream dipped in a chocolate, peanut butter, cherry, or butterscotch sauce. This place is great for a summer night to get desert! Bring the kids to this place! I always get chocolate ice cream in the middle of two home-made peanut butter cookies for my treat. They have a wide selection of popsicles and ice cream sandwiches for the kids. So don't worry if you think they won't be able to find something they won't like. Because there is a ton of kid treats there. Come here for a great family desert. I come back every few months and always find something I like. If you want a good time and treat, you'll like this place!
Very Good, but not as good as some of the other ones I have been to. I liked the Cherry Top and I think my wife got the chocolate top. Its extremely small, just south of 290. They had other ice cream from Fox Valley Creamery (or something like that). I would stick with what they do best- custard. Definitely worth trying.
It has pretty standard soft serve ice cream, but some days that's all you need. :D They have four different cone coating flavors which I'm a fan of. I've never really tried anything else. It is good, but I wouldn't go if I didn't live in the neighborhood.
Doesn't look like much on the outside. If you walk too fast, you'll miss it. But once the tempature goes up, you'll be waiting in line like the rest of Oak Park just to taste their super scrumptious ice cream. Their niche market is softserve. They serve it up on a cone, or in a cup or in a sundae topped with nuts! They also have cherry, fudge and caramel diptops. And unlike the overpriced Oberweise or ColdStone, an ice cream cone won't cost you $6.00 and require you to bring a friend for support. I disagree when people say their are only two seasons in Chicago, Winter and Construction. I believe there are three: Winter, Construction and Hole in the Wall!
There are better places in the area, but still this is really good. I like getting a chocolate diptop. It is very small, so you probably need to eat outside, where there are benches. I'd overall say don't make the special trip, but if you are near it anyways, stop by.
A bit of an odd experience as this place is a word-of-mouth, hiding down the street and across the bridge spot, but a fun summer adventure. You'll have to wait in line outside with the kids on their way from the pool and the old guy who looks like a regular, but it's pretty darn good. Definitely better than the usual stores. Melts fast outside the tiny service area, so eat up!
tiny little ice cream stand with soft serve, some shakes, and ice cream truck fare. they also make great chicago style hot dogs. closed during the winter November to March.
