Hinesly Orthodontics - Ann Arbor

I'm currently 27 years old with braces for the fourth time under the fourth orthodontist trying to correct the mistakes originally made by Hinesly's office. My parents took me in at the age of 11 for what was a "routine straightening." The predicted two to three years ended up lasting from mid-sixth grade through the beginning of senior year. I had a baby tooth inset and fused to my jawbone, and so Hinesly's team decided to take the quick fix and align my teeth around that tooth rather than remove it in favor of an implant. This led to an uneven bite and jaw clicking (had to see a periodontist who claimed the clicking was due to the misalignment of my back teeth) and follow-up from three more orthodontists (due to moving so frequently) and an oral surgeon to remove that tooth and have a bone graft in preparation for a permanent implant. Concerns were voiced multiple times by me/ my parents about the fact that my back teeth were so misaligned that I could no longer chew on one side of my mouth, but they were all brushed aside. When I finally got my braces off, my rubber retainer didn't fit because the teeth were "aligned" on the retainer how they should have been -- but weren't -- aligned in my mouth.

Now, after thousands of dollars and work by three more orthodontists, this mistake is finally almost taken care of. I would definitely suggest getting multiple opinions before deciding on this office.

Dr. Hinesly and his staff have been wonderful for our 13 year-old son's orthodontic treatment. The staff makes our son feel at ease so visits are a pleasant experience. Dr. Hinesly's treatment plan took into account not only our son's current (somewhat complicated) orthodontic situation, but also the changes that will occur to his facial structure as he grows. Additionally, they recommended a specific course of treatment based on his outside activities (he plays hockey and wears a mouth guard). We felt informed throughout each step of the process, and have seen great results.

My 11 year old had the best experience at Hinesly Orthodontics. He was very nervous about getting braces. The staff is very kind. Dr. Hinesly quickly made him comfortable and gave him a safe environment to talk about what changes should be made to his mouth. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

My 10 year old daughter's teeth look amazing! The staff was always friendly! We will definitely be back with our other child!!!
