Yes, the hotel is a bit older. However, they recently underwent remodeling/renovation. Thus, the hotel does not look as badly in need of repair as it once did.

The main downside to this hotel is its location; it's a bit further away from the main attractions of Tucson -- particularly, the University of Arizona.

I have found the hotel staff to be extremely accommodating.

The room service is average and overpriced... which is typical for most hotels.

I might stay here again, but I wouldn't set my expectations too high...

When I hear "HILTON" I think of cultured grounds, fine dining, and plush bedrooms for the price, but recently, with the economy spiraling down to who knows where and what?---Hotel establishments are cutting corners at the fringes. ie; serving orange juice from concentrate instead of fresh squeezed, the lobby is vacuumed so much from the maintenance folks trying to look busy that the lobby smells like detergent.
The baggage carts are old and worn out (badly in need or replacing!)

But the overall setting is pretty and somewhat ideal for a desert location in the city of Tucson. it is located close to a major mall, easy to get to Mt. Lemon for the adventurous at heart, and restaurants are just a jot away in any direction.  A place for a date?----Hummm?-----I would use this as a location to get to other locations in the area...but go to a Hilton Resort for a date.

As I said, I might stay here again...just that I will not set my expectations too high!

We just stayed a couple of days and is was ok. I agree with the comment below about how bad the contractors work was.

The only really nice thing in the place was the gym. Very very nice brand new gym. Had ok pool and spa. They also have free internet access. It wasnt too great overall but nothing serious to complain about. We priclined it for like 50 a night so...

Good hotel with nothing wrong about it.

Unfortunately, if you are visiting someone at the university, this may not be the place to. It is quite a drive away

Oh, my. This hotel needs some help. They're boasting that they've recently remodeled, and are celebrating their new look, and sadly, it already looks old and worn. HUGE stains on the carpets in the hallway, wallpaper not set right, some of it coloured with the stain from the valance, as if one of the contractors had stained the valance while it was mounted above the window, splattered a few drops of it on the wall, and then tried to clean it up unsuccessfully. And the air conditioners! The only hotel I'd stayed in where the air conditioners were louder was a one-star in Hawaii, which had a window unit on its last legs. I turned the damned thing off every night just to get some sleep.

With all the complaining out of the way, I have to admit that you can get a nice room here. It's a bit hit and miss, and whoever hired the contractors better have gotten some refunds, considering the shoddy state of some of the remodeling. For example, the sink countertop is flush with the cabinet on one side of the sink, but a few inches separated from the other side. It's comical. Does this affect your stay? Not likely. But it makes you wonder.
Anyway. The rooms can be nice, plenty of space, wireless internet is good, TV is a countertop flat-screen. Bed is comfy, sheets are decent, by which I mean they aren't scratchy. Plenty of pillows. Not all the comforts of home, but you can handle the stay for a while.

The staff does a good job of making your stay pleasant, one of the key philosophies of Conrad Hilton. So it's a good hotel. Just a victim of some unfortunate remodeling decisions.

The review really should be three and 1/2 stars, as there are plenty of good qualities about the hotel. So I'll round up. 'Cause of the staff.
