5 reviews for Hilton Omaha
I was very surprised by this Hilton! The staff was incredibly nice, my room was a nice size and immaculate, room service was unexpectedly good and the price was good.
This Hilton is definitely the one you want to be at if you need to go to the Qwest Center. There is a walkway connected to the conference center so you can get that extra 10 or 15 minutes of sleep in the morning. Such a key thing when travelling for work!!!
Two added bonuses: 1. they have an airport shuttle which runs every 30 minutes (even the driver was nice) 2. If you join the Hilton rewards program, the bottled water in the mini bar is free!!!!
Why only 4 stars??? Well, I had to go to Omaha. Enough said.
This is the Four Seasons of Omaha, NE. Seriously.
It was my first trip out here and haven't rented a car in five years, so I was thinking that I would be driving for awhile until I got to the hotel. Well, literally the hotel is around the corner from the airport. And I am not sure why the signage on the freeway cannot be called the airport as it is Eppley Field?
Overall the service of the hotel was fine, as it was for work travel and Omaha. I do think that paying $10 for the gym was ridiculous though. There were actual members and not just hotel guests though. But it looked like a regular hotel gym. Step it up if you are make me pay.
Also, if you are going to have a mini bar, don't make me ask for a key to it. They must not get a lot of usage from that if you don't just offer up the key at arrival.
But why you get 4 stars..... the lobby bar had $5 Stoli cocktails. 'Nuff said.

This realtively new Hilton is the only 4 diamond hotel in Nebraska, next to the revitalized downtown area anchored by the Qwest Center, which hosts major college sporting and other special events. The area is being transformed from decaying brick buildings to metal and glass, modern structures, and the Hilton is part of this.
The hotel has its own multi-story parking structure (pay), however it doesn't have a direct entry into the lobby, so on those cold midwest evenings you have to walk around to the lobby under a covered walkway. The lobby is modern, with a clean design, and the rooms are to Hilton standards. There is a large 2nd floor ballroom for major events, accessed by elevators or a direct staircase from the lobby bar. There is also a nice restaurant offering a wide range of selections, mostly in casual dining.
This hotel is close to everything, like the Marketplace area of old brick buildings now a major nightlife area of restaurants, shops, and bars, but out on its own enough to give you a clean modern feel of safety and comfort. Average room rate is about $175, depending on seasons, amenities and specials.

Don't get me wrong -- this is a nice hotel, but just "average-nice" in my opinion. It appears to be relatively new construction, so features some snazzy decor, but the rooms are far from sound-proof from its noisy corridors. I became less impressed the longer I stayed. Since I attended a wedding here, I also experienced the ballroom facilities, which were fine, but the servers and bartenders were so surly, me thinks they should have carried vats of dip for the chips on their shoulders rather than hors d'oeuvre platters. Lastly, the main elevators always reeked of maple syrup, which nobody seemed to be able to explain. In summary, I don't think Paris would deem this particular location "hot." It's just tepid.

You might think I'm giving this place 5 stars because of its location, physically attached to the Qwest Center, very near to most everything that's good in downtown, and about 5 minutes from the airport. Not only are all of those things true, but it's a very nice place to stay as well. I am a big fan of location, but this place also has nice amenities and is probably one of the nicest places to stay in Omaha.
The price can even be reasonable, particularly if you've been wanting to discover everything Omaha has to offer in February (cold and Creighton Basketball, if you were wondering).
