We had a VERY good experience here when we stayed for one, Saturday night in the fall of 2009.
My 4 year old enjoyed the 89 degree indoor pool, and we all enjoyed the very well stocked breakfast buffet that came with our upgrade to the 7th floor (the "towers"). The only complaint? The butler service area on 7 was closed and had been for some time.
Room was large, clean and all requests were cheerfully and quickly taken care of.
Nice ! We'll come back when we visit this area again.

This Hilton used to be the crown jewel of Tyson Corner. It's really become a tarnished over the years and is definitely due for a facelift. But that won't stop Hilton from charging you for every little thing.
My first shock was the $12 a day for internet access. Any you don't find out until it's too late the signal can be weak in some rooms and you're paying for a slow connection. The second day I pulled out the Sprint cell modem and got much faster speeds.
Day two - I didn't feel like fighting Tyson traffic to grab breakfast so I hit the hotel restaurant. For two eggs, bacon, and toast they wanted $15. And coffee was another $4. Or, you can get the buffet for $22. I went for the buffet and it left me wanting for a Shoney's. Nothing spectacular here. Same food you would find at a Homewood Suites, but $26 more (tax and tip of course).
Don't forget to print everything you need for your trip before you get to the hotel. Otherwise you have to use your credit card in the business center.
I did have to laugh when I opened my room door. Some hotels have a nice little metal or marble threshold there. Not the Hilton. They have duct tape on the floor, apparently "hiding" the unraveling carpet.
Very nice. Well done.
I've stayed at plenty of luxury hotels on business travel. I seldom leave feeling it was worth some multiple times the rate on the Courtyard or something else midrange nearby. I was naturally skeptical paying $300 night to stay here. A few blocks off Central Park. OK, I understand. $300 in Tysons?? Did I just luck into a totally-bad-rate day?
Yet ... the Hilton delivered. Large, clean, well maintained fitness club with lots of machines. Nice details in the room - high thread count sheets, down comforter, and comfy bed. Drinkable in-room brew, with actual half & half instead of powder (first time I've experienced that luxury!). A cheerful greeting from every staff member I happened across while walking around, on and off the elevator, etc.
Recommended. I'll stay again if business necessitates ...

After a long @ss flight from LA.. all I wanted to do was knock the f_ck out.. so it's about 11PM.. I check in to the tele, get my keys, go up to the room and get denied @ the door. So I pick up all my ish and head back downstairs to have the front desk reprogram the keys which worked the 2nd time around. VERY bad start.
The room was ok for my needs.. except for internet.. other hotels provide internet for FREE but the Hilton charges something like $12 for 24 hours. You would think that it would be included since you're paying over $200/night for a room.. So I pull out the iron from the closet and start ironing.. I'm down to my last shirt and the iron stops working..cold turkey..literally.. I thought it was the outlet but the light that was plugged into the same outlet was still on.. I really didn't want to try to troubleshoot it so I just left it.. The beds and pillows were VERY comfortable so I had no problems sleeping.. Note: The beds @ the Hilton Garden Inn's suck @ss. And I must've had a handicap room cause there were rails all over the bathroom and in the shower.. and the bathroom was extra wide. Walls were kinda thin as I could hear whole conversations coming from my next door neighbor... it kinda almost felt like they were in the same room..talking to me!!
The decor could use some updating.. lots of gold around but nothing that was awe-inspiring.. it felt kinda old. They have a gift shop down on the lobby floor where you can buy misc items.. a bar with live music on some nights.. and a restaurant which was always empty whenever I passed by.. I did check out the gym downstairs but my hotel key didn't work down there (you need to swipe your hotel key to get in).. go figure..
Parking is plentiful.. If you get there early enough you may be able to snag a spot out front.. if not, there's plenty of parking out back and there is a back entrance which I thought was more convenient than the front entrance.
Overall.. the Hilton met my needs.. but I'm a simple guy.. just need some running water and a place to lay my head.

A solid hotel proximate to the airport and DC. This place has a special place in my heart for the rubber duckies they put in the bathrooms. It is close to a really nice mall. Stay on the concierge floor and you don't have to go to dinner.
