Nice hotel, clean. But we could not sleep because the refrigerator was very loud AND there was a loud fan cycling on and off all night long. Also, we asked for extra pillows and they never showed up. Breakfast was good, We received a free coupon when we checked in. I would stay here again though...

I've stayed at a lot of Hilton Garden Inns and I've never had to wait over ten minutes for the clerk to actually show up at the desk so I could check in. Granted we got in late, but it was still before midnight. And the last thing I want to is go on an employee search. Even more annoying was the guy in the security uniform sitting in the lobby on his cell phone, who if he had looked up to notice might have offered to help track down the missing clerk. We even tried calling the place from our cell phones multiple times to see if it might ring through to some other phone. Anyhow the guy eventually did show up and we were able to check in.
Other than that, the stay was pretty normal. The room was clean, the bed decent, the wireless connection was free and strong. That's about all I really require in a hotel anyhow. Despite not having a super check in experience I think this is probably still the best place to stay in Wilmington. -

I stayed here with my brother who just returned from Afghanistan and was disappointed. The TV in his room was broken, and after two days of being there, no one actually fixed anything despite countless requests. He had been in the desert for 7 months without anything, the least they could do was fix his television.
Also, we were told checkout was 1pm, so when we returned to checkout at 12, my brother's room was already cleaned and vacated, and we found his shirt and telephone guard in the trash outside his room.
The two stars instead of one stems from the really nice guy at the counter who went above and beyond to help us out. I do not know his name, but he is African American and on the short side.
