When you have to travel about 5 driving hours to reach St George for business and you step out of your air conditioned car and are hit with 100+ degree temperature and 40% humidity, all you want to do is crawl into an airconditioned room again.  Luckily, I got to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is a newer hotel in St George, Utah.

When you walk in the front doors and head for reservation, you notice the dining room on the right and the foyer/living area to left.  A fireplace sort of hides the secondary living area behind it.  Everything was beautiful and new.  The evening front desk clerk, Kate (I think), was super professional.  There was a problem with my reservation, and she fixed it quickly and timely.  She was very polite and nice.

We had a main floor room (typically I hate those), and it had a king size bed, and work suite area.  The interesting thing about the bed is that it had a dial on it that you could make stiffer or more comfy.  The pillows were also comfortable (typically you get the too hard or too soft).  The comforter cover was a white cotton and looked clean.  the Work suite area had a Herman Miller chair which was very comfortable to sit in.  This hotel had free (wired) internet access.  The wifi signal we found was very weak, and we had to hook up.  The room also had a microwave and refrigerator which were nice to store bottled waters in.  The bathroom amenities were Neutrogena, and they were okay.  The shower did have a curved shower rod, so that the liner and curtain didn't cling to your wet body while you're showering.  That is so nice to have.

The hotel has a fitness room and small pool, along with a business center (none of which I used).  It appeared to be a nice facility.  I din't try the restaurant but assumed it had the typical hotel restaurant fare with a morning breakfast (presumably buffet) for about $10.  The hotel also has the only private club in St George, but to find it you have to walk through the dining room facility and down a hall to get there.  The offerings were limited but good considering that the rest of the town didn't have anything better.

My stay was very nice and comfortable, especially after running around in the humid heat, having business meetings all over town.

One caveat - apparently St George has some bugs, and you may find them in your room.  It's a natural thing in that area, but the hotel pretty much keeps it very clean.
