Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks
3 reviews for Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks
The Bad:
My car got allot of sea-salt but that isn't the hotels' fault :). The maid service was about a 3 on a scale of 1-5, but I am into extreme cleanliness so I am a hard grader in this area. Good little breeze off of the ocean - but then again there was a hurricane warning [not the hotels fault].
The Good:
I totally enjoyed myself at this hotel. I spent a week there in 09/2008. Check-in was easy and pleasant. The staff were very accommodating. Plenty of baggage carts were available in the doorway as needed. The beach is so close. The pool area is in a nice and sunny spot. There is a 24 hour coffee/tea/cocoa bar. There is a business center on-site with complimentary wireless printing. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and sauna on-site. Plenty of towels are available so you don't need to bring any down from your room. I had the buffet breakfast every morning and it was great! I got a King room, which was a corner view and had a whirlpool in it and simply loved it! This room gives a view of the ocean on both sides. Soooooo relaxing!!!
Walking Distance:
A drugstore to purchase incidentals [can't remember if it is a Walgreen's or Rite Aid]. Gas station on the corner. Close drive to Hooters, McDonald's and tons of other food places. Lots of bathing suit shops with tons of off season discounts. About 10-20 minutes up the road is a shopping plaza with a dollar store and a few other stores. About 20-30 minutes up the road is a shopping outlet. I spent allot of money on nice outfits that I don't see at home. There is also a Walmart & Home Depot nearby. Get your snacks at Walmart and meals on the strip :D. There is also a fishing pier "right there".
I plan to revisit this location in the Spring :)
This is a pretty nice hotel. I'm in room 528, I have a sliding glass door with a balcony and a view of the beach. The lobby as well as the room is very clean and they give you a hdtv and free internet.
They need to work on the pillows, they're hard as rocks. Also the ac/heater is right by the work desk and the vents don't move, so you have to move down to the end of the desk to avoid the arctic breeze. Money shots on pay per view are explicitly banned, everything else including foreign object and different species interaction doesn't seem to be a problem with the township of Kitty Hawk . The last and weirdest problem is the noise the people above me made moving the furniture. Except I'm on the top floor. Jacob Marley perhaps?

Stayed one night for a wedding on the outer banks. Very friendly staff, normal check in time is 4 pm they allowed us in at noon so we could get ready for the wedding after flying in that morning. We paid $149, had a view of the ocean from the balcony. King size bed, an office area that includes free internet, a little kitchenette, pretty much standard upper scale hotel room. Clean room, nice lobby, didn't try the restaurant as I tend to avoid restaurants in hotels. Would stay there again if in the area. As for pillows, so personal of an item we bring our own so can't comment on them. The heat/ac worked fine for us.
