3 reviews for Hilton Garden Inn
I left my apartment at 3:30 AM to begin my sojourn to New Orleans. When I arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn I was met with mixed news. My room wasn't ready, but instead was offered a different room. What the heck I thought, no biggy right?
I hopped into the super comfy, king sized bed and took a serious nap. I woke up starving and grabbed some food in the French Quarter. After I had been refreshed both by food and sleep, I returned to the hotel room with a strange feeling. Was it me, or were my feet sticky? Was it my shoes, or the carpet? It was as though my room's carpet had been sprayed with soda and maple syrup. EW!
I zipped down to the lobby located on the 11th floor. While it's unusual that it's on the 11th floor, it's great because it keeps the overzealous tourists out! The hotel gladly switched my room and the third one was a charm. They also threw in a complementary breakfast.
There's a roof top pool and by pool I mean over sized hot tub. It's a tad tiny. While I didn't make it in the pool, I did spend some on the roof. The view is amazing because the 18th floor certainly provides a birds eye view of most of New Orleans.
All in all, it's a good hotel to stay in. It's close enough to the French Quarter but without all mess and the noise!

Friendly staff and a convenient location, although the valet-only parking is a little steep. Good location to stay if you're going to a convention at the Intercontinental or want to visit the French Quarter but stay in a more modern hotel a little away from the drunken hoards.

Kind of a weirdly placed hotel, you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. First of all the main street level entrance is a garage. That's because the main registration desk is on the 11th floor, maybe I didn't look up, but it looked nothing like the website. Its not really in any busy neighborhood but it's only two blocks from Canal Street and maybe one block north of Bourbon from there. Kind of a no-frills version of its wealthier cousin, the Hilton Hotels. The rooms are huge, they have free (but spotty) internet, and there's freshly baked cookies at the front desk. The hotel also has a pool and fitness room on its rooftop.
