6 reviews for Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Downtown
One of the first hotels I stayed at in the city, the Hilton does not fail to live up to the prestige one would expect. Thankfully, I was not required to examine the bill, so I can't be 100% certain that it was worthwhile, but these upscale hotels in downtowns, mere blocks away from key foot-traffic locations can't be anywhere in the neighborhood of cheap. That said, I felt the experience was worth it.
This location is right next to the Circle, downtown. This place is full of cute shops, restaurants, one strange biker hangout, and picturesque landmarks are just a staircase away. In the other direction, a slightly more hefty, but still doable, walk away, are the clubs and liquor-themed restaurants. But none of this seedy type of traffic would ever pass by the Hilton, it's simply out of their way. A horse-drawn carriage ride to another location in downtown would be entirely possible.
Inside the hotel it's clean, the staff is helpful and prompt. Nothing special to report either way, which is kind of the experience you want, after all, you don't come to a city to hang out in the hotel, it should be pleasantly neutral.
I really like this hotel!
Nice hotel! Although I only spent 10 hours in the hotel the staff was nice, the room was clean and the breakfast service/food was good. It is in a great location to get to anything in town. There are many restaurant choices within walking distance.
I used this hotel for blocking hotel rooms for our downtown wedding reception and we had a great experience working with their sales department. They gave me 10 rooms for $129 per night. This is a steal for a hotel of this caliber in such a fantastic location. They also gave us a nice room upgrade for the same price for being the bride and groom.
The hotel is just barely a block off the circle and walking distance to all the sights and sounds of downtown Indy. The staff was polite, friendly and helpful in distributing my "welcome bags" to any of the guests that stayed in the hotel. They were easy to work with through the process and assisted in grabbing a cab to the reception location.
We hosted a brunch for our guests the morning after the wedding for $35 a head. I thought this was a bit high but there was plenty of food and waitstaff assisting us which was nice. They also put it together with less than 48 hours notice, which I thought was impressive.
I thought for the price, it was well worth it. The breakfast and lunch buffets were average and overall, I would recommend it, b/c it was a simple, easy experience. I wouldn't expect to be blown away but otherwise, I think it is "A-OK".
Clean, centrally located, great amenities. The 24-hour pantry (read: extremely tiny limited convenience store) is great and they don't grossly overcharge. The business center is likewise great - free printing!
The restaurant is mediocre, and expensive. They kept raving about this bread pudding, but it was really very sub-par. Although the rooms have a microwave and fridge, there didn't seem to be anywhere within walking distance to buy groceries.
However, do NOT check out before taking a look at your room charges. I was charged $22 for valet parking (took a cab there) and for a 25 minute incoming call - they purportedly don't charge for incoming calls. All was corrected but had I been in any more of a hurry I would never have noticed.
I stay at this hotel a lot as my employer is located nearby (and I don't live in Indianapolis). The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, large and clean. Very happy every time I stay here. I've had a lot of bad hotel experiences, and this is never one of them. Each room has a mini-fridge. There is a 24 hour pantry next to the front desk. The restaurant is okay. It's great to have it, but there are a lot of other nicer restaurants nearby, so I don't usually eat in the hotel.
