8 reviews for Hilton Garden Inn
I am no snob.. I ain't afraid to stay at a Hilton Garden Inn..
This is a really good business hotel next to O'hare airport.. Obviously, the best hotel in the area is the big Hyatt, or even the small Hyatt but, this is a great place for the money.
I have a 89 dollar hook up whenever I stay here so that's a great reason right off the bat..
The second reason is the Hotel Policy.. Every time I stay at a business hotel, I feel like I am getting screwed.. They charge you for internet, they charge you for parking, they charge you for the gym, and every other little annoying thing.. The HGI doesnt do this.. Free WIFI through out the hotel.. Free Business Center, Free Breakfast if you are a honors member, and free parking.. They also give me free waters and apples when I check in.. Microwave and fridge in the room.Free Shuttle service to anywhere in town.
Next is the staff.. Everyone there is really nice.. They even know my name by now and the whole staff says hello.. All super nice.. They might even give you a suite on your bday..
Lastly the Bartender.. Dude is cool as hell. He is one of the best bartenders I have ever met.. No he isnt some cocktail dork that is going to make you the best Side Car or something.. He has a heavy hand on the pour, he too remembers your name, and has a fair buyback theory.. He is a cool dude and I look forward to seeing him on every trip as we pick up where we left off..
So yeh, its a Hilton Garden Inn in some airport town.. But its working at the best of their ability and would rather stay here then in any hotel in town..
Did I mention they won Hilton Garden Inn hotel best Hotel in the Country award! Good for them, they deserve it.

This hotel needs some help, yet Im still OK with it...and I would stay here again if I had to.
For $99.00, a very nice room that has a soft bed and working central air.
NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR!
It also seemed as if we were staying in another state...not sure why??
Sure the pool was lame (5 ft deep in the "deep" end) and the vending machines were empty, but all in all, a nice experience.
The bar on the main floor is small and homey. The shifty-eyed bartender from England is the shiz though. He was ease-dropping our whole conversation and giggled when we cracked jokes about stuff. I liked it when I finished my cockatil, waited for about 10 minutes, and then looked up at him. His shifty-eyes auto-focused on mine really quickly, and he said in fear, "I didn't want to make you another one because I wasn't sure if you were ready or not..."
HAHA!!
You crazy bastard, grab that bottle of Makers and let's make some magic happen!

Thanks to my mother's research all my out-of-town wedding guests stayed here for a long weekend. While all the actual wedding-day events were in Chicago, we opted to book rooms out by ORD for the free airport shuttle, the free parking lot, the free breakfast and for their really reasonable rates. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. All the rooms were neat and clean (at least to start with--before my brothers brought the beer coolers) Their full service breakfast is not only complimentary for guests but has tons of options. There is a huge atrium lobby that we were allowed to use for a pre-wedding pizza dinner. Staff even allowed us to have "concealed" alcoholic beverages in the lobby. The pool area was a fun amenity since it has a fenced in kiddie pool with a waterfall feature, a hot tub, and those floating noodles and lots of beach balls to toss around or to play poolside dodgeball with. To top it off, all rooms have mini-fridges that can be stocked for a weekend party and there is a bar in the atrium with a decent beer list.
This place gets my 5-stars for group event accomodations.

This was my first time staying at a Hilton Garden Inn so I didn't know what the expect. The rooms were clean, and parking was free so i was fairly happy. I only spent about 8 hours there, most of those asleep, but I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.
I would bet the fines and insurance increases for my next speeding ticket that this place is going to have a fire drill within the next week!
I have been here for meetings- a few times. Why? Don't ask me- I don't pick the places, I just count myself lucky to show up at the right hotel and find the right conference rooms. Anyhow- the food- well, it is usually pretty darn good.
The parking- very simple. For the hotels around this area- it is extremely simple- no garages! YAHOO! I can park and walk- perfect and FREE.
The conference rooms, well lit, windows, airy, not a problem....UNLESS THE DAMN FIRE ALARM GOES OFF FOR AN HOUR STRAIGHT!!
Yup- you heard me- and yes I was screaming- my hearing is still affected, and I am still seeing spots.
It all started with flashing lights... I ignored them at first (just like I do in my review mirror) confident that they would go away- but they did not ( they never do). The lights continued for awhile. I considered breaking out my IPOD and putting on some Darude just to make the mood complete- but, one of my kind employees requested blindfolds. (I had forgotten to tell her to be on her best behavior- we are smart asses, but not with whole groups)! Instead- the banquet manager took the request to heart (a good thing as there were a few in the room who could not handle the lights) and brought in duct tape- and taped the fire alarms. Well- who would have thought it? Problem solved... If only.
About 10 minutes later- the horns started- loudly. We all cleared to stand outside- as far from the noise as possible. About 20 minutes later everything was "fixed". We resumed our seats and began rigorously discussing SSOS, RTI, and TQ. What a thrilling day.
Needless to say- the test of the fire alarm system did not go well. Hope they get that fixed soon!

After previously staying at a Hilton Garden Inn in Joplin, MO I had really high hopes for this place. It was pretty much the same in terms of amenities, but was quite a bit busier and didn't have quite the same atmosphere. I have three complaints about the experience.
1] Tried to order room service at 10:30 pm and was told it closed at 10, even though the menu in the room said 11.
2] Only one washer and dryer for laundry services for a hotel this size so close to O'Hare is RETARDED.
3] We extended our stay for I think a total of 4 nights. The first two nights they kept the rate the same and made mention of it. The other two nights they made no mention of a rate hike, yet hiked it anyone. Sure we should have asked, but they mentioned the rate staying the same but not increasing? Cheese if you ask me.
The place does have free wifi, a decent (although a bit overpriced) restaurant, and the beds are comfortable.

Clean. Friendly staff. Shifty-eyed bartender (not a bad thing). HUGE bowl of free snacks on the bar. Comfy bed for resting your feet after dancing in broken heels all night. Mini fridge for your leftover wedding hot dogs. Crappy small pool. Nearly empty vending machines.

Clean, new looking place near O'hare Airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make for a comfortable stay. Shuttle to and from airport was great, free, and convenient. Rooms were nice. Met the bartender Michael. I unsuccessfully tried to adopt him as my uncle. Good dude.
