Compared to where I have spent the last 4 consecutive nights (Minnetonka?, Airplane, parent's house *oh noes*, Airplane) the Hilton Garden Inn was like Mecca to me. After the red eye from SFO to IAD to DCA I was ready to lay my self down somewhere... anywhere please!! It's a $12 cab ride from Reagan airport FYI and there's a metro stop about a block away so it's convenient to get around the Arlington/DC area.

The place is your basic Hilton: clean, free snacks up front (you know I was all over those) and hospitable. But I have to give it up for the service. I walked in there looking like post Bobbi Brown Whitney Houston and the concierge didn't throw me out or mistake me for a crack whore/crazy cat lady. I had no reservations and he found a way to get me a room with a really good price. (See, pity has its charms!)

After settling into my boudoir for the night (comfortable and free wifi) I took a nap and cleaned myself up Pretty Woman style. So when I came downstairs in my little dress, clutch purse and strappy shoes the same concierge did a "Whoa-de-whoa" double take then he helped me navigate the Metro, find the address to the embassy, recommend places to eat and told me where to get a metro day pass. I really respect it when places give you the same treatment whether or not you look like a queen or a call girl. It gives me the warm fuzzies.

Though on my way out he did ask if he should expect any "visitors" from me. -1 star for even insinuating that I was a call girl. PSHHAA!!
