Stayed there last night.

Previous reviewers are right about the paper thin walls and the nickel and dine treatment.

However, its proximity to ORD is great.  I was able to get up at 5:00AM for a 6:30 flight and still get through security in time to be at the gate 10 minutes before boarding started.  For this reason I give it 3 stars

My bachelorette party fun started early in the morning with delayed flights and bridesmaids getting in hours apart. After some frantic phone calls, I took the El up to the airport to greet one of my bridesmaids. Since it was early in the morning, we were hungry for some much needed breakfast. We learned the hard way that O'Hare doesn't have any food service outside of the terminals other than Starbucks. After walking around a few terminals, we decided that the Hilton O'Hare was our best option for food.

We had breakfast in their main dining room area. The menu is pretty average and is hugely expensive. My bridesmaid had the lox and bagel while I had eggs benedict. Despite the expensive plate, they served a lot of food. I only made it through half of my second egg benedict in addition to the side of the potatoes. All in all, it's your average hotel food. Nothing extraordinary or anything. It certainly filled us up for our afternoon drinking we embarked on after returning to my apartment. Our service was attentive and pleasant. Our waiter didn't seem to mind that we lingered long after finishing our meal. For that, Hilton O'Hare deserves some stars.

After our fun bachelorette morning experience, I now know that the Hilton O'Hare is the only place that you can get food outside of the gates and Starbucks.

If you're staying the night in Chicago and need to catch an early flight out of ORD the next morning, this is a great hotel for you.  If you have no business being at O'Hare, however, you should look elsewhere for your hotel needs.

You may or may not be aware, the hotel is actually on airport property.  Good news, travelers!  The hotel is located at Terminal 2 so wherever you're going, you're only a short walk away from your gate.

The property is rated 4 stars and it lives up to its rating.  It is a well maintained hotel and is very welcoming.  The rooms are nice and well furnished.  The bed is really comfortable and plush.

The only gripe is that the walls are paper thin.  I could literally hear my neighbor's conversation over the sound of my TV.  He wasn't talking very loud, either.  This flaw in wall design was made worse by the cleaning ladies who attempted to clean my room at 8 in the morning.

8 in the morning?  Isn't check out at noon?  Hello?!

After I explained to them I that I had no interest in having my room cleaned, they stood outside my room and rapped at each other in loud Spanish.  I think they were discussing the intricacies of the Triangle Offense.  They seemed very engaged in the conversation.  Too bad the walls seemed to amplify sound rather than dampen it as most walls are designed to do.  I laid in bed, half asleep, and wondered why I decided to stay at this hotel in the first place.

Outside of the noise issues, this is still a decent hotel.  Be aware, though, they will try to nickel and dime you.  This was made none more apparent than the set of toiletries they will charge $7 (plus tax!) should you decide to use it.  I'm sorry, I have a hard time paying $17 for internet access (per night!) so whenever I see a 4 star property trying to squeeze another $7 (plus tax - gah!) for a travel size toothpaste and a set of combs, I draw the bloody line.

ps:  Parking is done through general airport parking and will run you $30 a night or you can opt for the valet service for $45.  Take the El in and save yourself some cash for the minibar.

it was a night place the gas light club inside the hilton. the drinks were ok but not the best, had better at Redstone in oak brook. They didnt know how to make a few drinks which other restaurants and bars know how to, but the atmosphere in their is decent. low lights and has a piano which starts after 530 pm even tho when went there he didnt play at all only a little towards 630. the outfits girls have to wear are decent. wish they had better drinks!

All things considered, not a bad place to be stuck. Room was clean, beds comfortable and the towels were nice and fluffy.

Despite very nice staff, a miserable experience. In other words, it's hotel policy that makes this so awful. Decent hotel room. My room key wouldn't work, so I had to go back downstairs and wait 15 minutes in line to get it re-programmed. You feel nickel and dimed to death, or more accurately twenty dollared to death.

Internet access is an unbelievable $15.50 per day -- that's for the SLOWEST speed available. It's not possible to buy a beer or anything alcoholic to take up to your room, so unless you want to wait in line for the extremely noisy bar and drink it there, you have to use the minibar. They forgot to give me a minibar key when I was checking in so I called down and they said they would send one up, which ended up taking 45 minutes. An airline-sized bottle of wine (terrible quality of course) was $8.50 plus 18% service charge.

Why am I staying at this horrendously expensive awful place? Because when I got to the airport I learned my flight was cancelled and they put me on a 6:30 AM flight tomorrow.

I'm coordinating an event for work right now and it brought back memories of a time when I used the Hilton Chicago O'Hare as our venue for a different meeting.   After being dicked around by these people and majorly ripped off, I was lucky my boss was sympathetic to my situation.

I understand hotel contracts have the "fine print" that you must read, or else they will take you for all your worth.  I read that fine print and asked the representative to clarify my concerns.  She answered my questions like as salesperson would, and pressured me into signing the contract by a certain deadline.  When I discovered that she duped me, she refused to take my calls and the only way to reach her was through her underlings.  The folks I worked with from there on would continuously transfer me to other departments or make me wait days to get an answer.  Our final bill was sent to us by three different people, all with different amounts.

We lost a lot of money by working with Hilton O'Hare..They don't care if you are a for-profit business or nonprofit organization, they will try to suck every penny out of you.  Despite its convenient location, I will never use this hotel for a meeting venue again.

The only reason why they get two stars is because the meeting went smoothly and everyone enjoyed the food.

Stayed here for two nonsequential nights in May 2009, the first after a late night arrival at ORD, and the second before an early morning departure at ORD.  The quality of the room was decent for a domestic Hilton property, nothing to complain about.  The hotel is conveniently located a close subterranean walk away from the CTA blue line station and the rest of the airport.

As a Hilton HHonors Diamond member, I received a coupon for a free bottle of water from the minibar; I had to leave the coupon in the minibar where the bottle was so I wouldn't be charged.  The minibar was somewhat larger than other hotels that I've seen, with a lot of little bottles of alcohol, water, soda, snacks, etc.  Too rich for my blood, other than the free water.

I was told there is no Executive Level or Executive Lounge, so breakfast was available only at the on-site Andiamo restaurant.  Continental breakfast was free for Hilton HHonors elites but was $15, I think, for others.  It had a nice variety of cold cuts (turkey, ham, roast beef), Dannon yogurt, fresh fruit, and pastries, but was just a continental.  The hot breakfast would have costed extra.  I thought the breakfast was a tad below average for an upper-middle-end (Hilton/Doubletree) or middle-end (Hilton Garden Inn/Embassy Suites) Hilton property.

The fitness center looked fantastic, with dozens of cardio machines, weight machines, and dumbbells; I would've been in heaven had I stayed here on one of my work trips, but unfortunately couldn't afford the time on this trip.  My welcome letter indicated that it the health club would have been free for me due to Hilton status, but I'm not sure what the cost is for those without status.

Nice enough rooms, but everything is expensive and the restaurants aren't great.  Seriously - hotel guests pay the *discounted* rate of $11 to use the fitness center that is closed at 10pm?  There's a 'convenience pack' in my room with a toothbrush and razor - $7 if I open it.  Wireless internet is $17.50 and doesn't extend to meeting rooms or restaurants.

Okay, I am bitter.  I am in Chicago for work, but the entirety of my 48 hour stay is intended to take place here, at the airport Hilton--the hotel you walk to from the terminals. It's your basic Hilton, and one that seems to take full advantage of its totally captive clientele with mostly mediocre food offerings and .50 per page printing in the business center.  I was sullen and snotty until I encountered the Gaslight Lounge.  People, it's like Vegas and my schoolgirl fantasies of working in a dancehall wrapped up and served along side a perfectly rare steak and a lovely Manhattan.

Did I mention the piano stylings of Cookie? Seriously, if this place was in San Francisco, it would likely be overrun with those with ironic sensibilities that suck the soul from all that is pure.  I am so happy that it exists where it does, and that it added the solitary piece of joy to my airport hotel business trip.

Well, I must say, it's pretty dope to be able to roll on out of terminal 2 at O'Hare and waltz right in to the lobby of the hotel. And they did re-do the lobby and the rooms in the last year or two. So here's my breakdown:

Front Desk: ****
Rooms: **** (great recliner + ipod-capable alarm clock)
Food: didn't try - too pricey
Gym: * ($11 to use- witf?)

This really all cracks out to 3.5 stars, but on Yelp, I always round down because I'm sure I've probably been way too generous with a few reviews.

Priceless moment: Looking out the window and seeing pretty much nothing but planes. Like 24/7.

This hotel is ONLY worth it if you are going to the airport the next day, or coming from the airport before you, say, drive up to WI (I know it's just two hours, but sometimes you are just DEAD tired from the flight!!)

IT IS NOT, however, AT ALL WORTH IT, even if you pay $80/night in priceline, when you want a hotel to go downtown.  If only because of the parking.  It SUCKS to pay $30 in parking and kinda makes it a moot point, because I am THE QUEEN of priceline (this is more of a commercial for it, huh?) and have gotten rooms downtown for less than $110.. then again, there's the whole parking, but it's worth it if you're downtown)..

But I digress.

The room is ok.  Not spectacular, but definitely not creepy.  It's for business people... Think of that.

And they have limited valet.  And they'll be pissy if you ask for it when "it's clearly full"

RIGHT!

wow! what a nice hotel! i've never been the type to stay at airport hotels cuz i always felt it was more for the "suits"...you know, the mid week business travelers. even though i only stayed here one night due to my late flight in, i really enjoyed my stay and wish i could have stayed longer. i got a room here for a cheap price through hotwire and honestly, i cannot complain.

pros:

- quick an easy check-in (especially since i booked thru a 3rd party)
- friendly staff
- NICE and clean rooms
- bath towels were extremely SOFT, not like those rough towels you normally get at hotels
- LCD TV's!
- i had an unexpectedly SPACIOUS room
- very modern rooms

cons:

- they do charge for everything (but thats normal any ways)

i got a room that had a conference table with 6 chairs which was definitely a first for me! lol the only thing i didnt like was that i had a connecting room on both sides of my room. i heard the rooms here are normally pricey but since i had to book through hotwire at the last minute, i was super psyched to have gotten a room here. LCD TV, sitting area, a wet bar with coffee maker, fridge with snacks and drinks (for extra $$ of course), toiletries for extra charge ready in the room, a modern hideaway bed attached to a bookcase, bath robe, HUGE window with view of airport, conference table.

this is a beautiful hotel and definitely good for the business traveler and people flying in late or flying out early. its attached to the airport through terminal 2 so it's easily accessible.

My parents had a morning flight to China, and I had to drive them from KY. I was happy to find this hotel and got a decent rate from priceline.

Valet parking was full, and had to drive to a daily parking and walked to the hotel. Not good in a cold day.

United airline terminal is right across the hotel. Very good for anyone to fly to China.

We stayed here when we missed our connection and the next flight wasn't until morning.  We got a discounted rate through the airline, and although we could have paid less to stay at another hotel off-site, this was just so much more convenient.  A short walk from our terminal to the hotel, a leisurely dinner in their restaurant (salad was good, burger was ok), then up to our room for some TV and sleep.  The room was on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable and we did not hear any noise at all.  We had a scenic view of the terminal from our window, but what else would we expect by staying at the airport?  Overall we were quite satisfied - comfortable and convenient.  Definitely not cheap, though.

One of my favorites in the airport area...okay my number one favorite.  For the sheer fact alone that you can walk there from the airport.  As for the other hotels you have to walk right across from the Hilton and wait for a van to take you to some remote location...all the while staring up at the hotel rooms thinking I could be pulling the shades right now and sleeping.  The rooms are comfy...down everything, clean and quiet, considering you are staring at planes landing and taking off at all times of the day.  The thing I don't care for is that they charge for internet....

This is the only hotel that is part of O'Hare Airport, so this the place to stay if you really need to make it onto your flight. It's a popular hotel with amenities like a gym, and its lobby is rather cheery considering you are basically surrounded by one of the busiest airports in the whole wide world.

Technically, this is cheating, as I have never had the occasion to stay here.  However, if you are picking someone up from the airport, and that someone's flight is delayed, this is a great place to kill some time and get your drink on.   While beverages aren't the cheapest, the barstools are comfortable and the bartenders are usually pretty friendly.  Plus, once your friend's flight gets in, he/she can join you for one last beverage before you skip to the blue line for home.  Nice.

The entire Hilton Family system is so sketchy and low-technology that they had a technical difficulty with their computer system and they cannot handle ANY reservations.  What kind of customer service is this?  Unacceptable.  Better off at Choice Hotels.

stayed here twice in the past month.  the rooms are nice.  they are smallish but that is to be expected at an airport hotel.  the sports bar has delicious food.  the food from the restaurant adjacent to the sports bar is not bad either.  the hotel it is directly across from the united terminal (tip: one can walk to the hotel via an underground tunnel and avoid jay-walking ... which is what i did the first time i was here).  one caveat: their airport check-in kiosks are ridiculously slow or perhaps broken.  it took over 10 frustrating minutes to check in and print my boarding pass..  this task takes about 30 seconds at the terminal across the street.  i don't want to be a snot, but time is sometimes really important, especially for things like printing boarding passes.
