7 reviews for Hilton Burlington
This was a tough one to write because I had to make sure that I stayed objective. For various reasons, I have found myself checking in this hotel several times a year. The view of Lake Champlain is fantastic (if you have a lake view room) and it is walking distance to Church Street of downtown Burlington. This hotel used to be the Wyndham and they have undergone a multimillion dollar renovation to update the dated motif of the Wyndham.
For the most part, the hotel now appears to be more modern. For the life of me, I don't know how a multimillion dollar renovation could not include improving the hotel elevators (very slow just like the Wyndham days). Check-in is usually quick and efficient and hotel staff are fairly friendly. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and bedding. The TV needs to be updated to flat screens. Their neighbor (Courtyard Burlington Harbor) have flat screens and they are not even a full-service hotel.
Overall, this hotel is acceptable and should be a low "3." The reason I took off a star from the rating is for their consistently poor recognition of Hilton's most loyal customers, HHonors Diamond VIP members. I am one of these "Diamond"members and for the multiple times I have stayed here, the only recognition I have received is the free breakfast coupon. When I needed their assistance for getting on a reservation wait list or have asked them to clean a mildewy bathroom, they've always failed to deliver. It doesn't even matter that I have "Diamond" status, I would hope that they would be willing to assist any of their guests when needed.
If not for my Hilton status, I would pick their neighbor any day.

The best reason to stay here is for the location. Request a room facing the lake, it's a beautiful view! It's also walking distance from downtown so it's a great place to stay if you have limited time to explore the town. Other than these reasons, I would not recommend staying here. The rooms were cramped and middle end. The lobby staff was mediocre. I would have given this hotel 3 stars but the shuttle driver was amazing, so he earns the hotel an extra star. He essentially served as my cab driver throughout my stay and picked me up and dropped me off wherever I requested. Strong work.
The only part worth a positive note is the location - across the street from the lake and easy walk to Church Street. I would not stay here again, though, unless i secured a room with a lake view. The non-lake view is looking over the town, which could be secaucus, NJ. The rooms are VERY small. Not worth the price of $239 a night for 2 queens and no view. if you're going just to sleep, and can't find another hotel, the rooms are clean.
The GF and I stayed here for a long weekend. Nice place, great location, we walked to the downtown area and parking was $10 day. Unfortunately we also had some bad experiences too. The electronic key card didn't work and we had to return to the front desk 4x to get some cards that finally opened the door. The clerk was utterly clueless. We went out for the day and came back to a dirty room. I don't blame the cleaning staff, the guy that fixed our door stated they cut back staff and this has hurt service. Oh yeah, the coffee creamer was spoiled, there aren't any phones in the hallways and the elevators are excruciatingly slow. Check out the Marriott next door.
I loved this hotel, I unfortunately didn't get a view of the lake, but it was dark when I finally got there so I didn't know. The location is amazing, one block from the lake and two blocks from Church St. It was my first time in Vermont and it just added to the quaintness of the whole experience. The bed was super duper comfortable....good for my 10 hours of zzzz's!
This Hilton is probably one of the better hotels in Burlington. Just a few blocks away from Church St and short stroll to the shores of Lake Champlain where there's wonderful hiking to be had. Request a room on one of the upper floors with a view overlooking Lake Champlain, It's amazing.
It was a nice hotel with a great location. Very near downtown. The hot-tub was out of order which was a little disappointing. My biggest complaint was no free WIFI. I mean the Holiday Inn Express in town has free WIFI and you are supposed to be Hilton. C'mon, this is the 21st century.
