So there I was cutting through residential El Segundo to avoid traffic on Sepulveda by LAX......
and what do I discover but a park!  Woohooo!  On top of a hill, with its own parking lot and.......ta da.....a swimming pool!
Holy crap what a lucky neighborhood.

There were young mothers with toddlers sunning on beach blankets in the grassy area next to the pristine little pool.  They were happily chatting away while the kiddies played, in their own private summer paradise.

Enter the parking lot just to the north of the park.  You can't see it from the street, you have to go up a driveway to the top of the hill.  
Then you'll look down on the large playground and the pool.  There's also a picnic area right there, with lots of big barbecues (see photos).

Walk around the building with the showers/restrooms and you will find a more secluded picnic area.  Everywhere are big shade trees.

There's a lifeguard/attendant at the pool.  Hours for swimming are Monday though Sunday, 11am to 3pm.  From the posted sign, I assume you don't have to be an ES resident, and can just pay a $3 non-resident pool fee.

Hilltop Park is almost directly under the El Segundo water tower!  Just lock your eyes onto that and drive toward it, can't miss it, haha!
