There are a few other places to stay in Harpers Ferry, they aren't that well-known. Plus, there's Charles Town, and they have more accommodation there that is a short drive to Harpers Ferry.
This place is now closed -- a couple of years ago they shut down in order to convert it into a top-of-the-line resort, but they ran out of money.
Oh no. No no no no no. Never again and I advise all others to stay away too. I have one word and that is... SPIDERS!
Big one's. One that was the size of my girlfriend's fist.
Small one's. About 10 or 20 of them along the corners of the rooms.
When, at 1am I went down to request another, less arachnid infested room, I was literally laughed at by the inebriated front desk man.
He eventually relented after a little ribbing about me being a "city boy" and as he lead us down the hall to another room four or five other spiders and a few roaches scurried by our feet as we approached the door to our new room.
Needless to say, we didn't even make it in to the room. I demanded my money back and left. Unfortunately, this place was one of only two places to stay in the whole of harper's ferry so we had to drive all the way back home to DC and abandon our next day's plans.
Stay away. The hotel is nasty, old, rotting, and infested with bugs.
Avoid at all costs.
