Our name may be "Hill Street Cafe," but we're so much more than just a cafe -- we're a full-service restaurant with a dedication to quality and service. There's something for everyone on our menu of home cookin', from eggs Florentine to club sandwiches to our famous tri-tip pot roast. Whether you're here for a business lunch, a weeknight dinner, or a family breakfast on the weekend, we can't wait to serve you. We've come a long way since we opened our original location in 1992 on, you guessed it, Hill Street, but our love for the family business has never changed. So come on in and let us get to know you -- our customers and our staff are like family to us, too.

Talk about an amazing catering experience!!! I needed a place to cater for 100 people for a reasonable price. My office was looking for a thanksgiving feast dinner and Hill Street Cafe was the place to go. The owner (Charbel) made everything so easy from beginning to end. I am always a bit worried ordering from a new place, but I don't regret this decision one bit.
The feast included salad, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese (one of the best I ever had), stuffing, gravy, cranberry, vegetables, bread, turkey, and amazing pumpkin cobbler. This was the best catering experience I had to date and will definitely use them again. My number one worry was running out of turkey, but this was not an issue at all. Definitely using this their catering service again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Picked this place because it was right across from Woodbury University and we were there for a conference.
The place seemed to be very much like a homey, old-fashioned American diner, and staff were friendly and helpful.
I was too hungry and was deep in conversation with colleagues so I don't have pictures of my food, but they have an extensive menu!!
But I ordered breakfast for lunch, because they had breakfast all day, loved that option! Our server was very experienced; he totally figured out what we needed, was ok with multiple receipts, and could remember what each of us wanted!
Not a bad go-to place if I'm in the area again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Laura F.Burbank, CA03247Mar 16, 2024
Not just a "Cafe," a full-service restaurant with good food and nice and friendly service. I ordered Mexican food. I ordered a Chile Relleno, It was tasty and I ordered their drink special today, a special Margarita. My husband ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, (Sorry I didn't take a picture, he ate it so fast). Our server, Valerie, was accommodating. My husband asked for buffalo sauce in his chicken sandwich. He loved it! The staff was friendly and attentive. Julio, another server, constantly checked in to refill our drinks. Nice service we will be back.!

Food was amazing! Ordered the clam chowder soup & the boracho fettuccine because they were recommended & boy they did not disappoint! Big props to the chefs! My mom ordered a sandwich which was also delicious & an orange/mango mimosa. Customer was great. We understood we got there at a busy time so service was a lil slow.. Well worth the wait. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back soon. The ambiance is quaint, cozy, & nice.

Through ownership and menu changes, Hill Street Cafe has really improved in the last couple of years. Excellent food, and friendly & helpful waitstaff. They're more than accommodating to what you're looking for. The "south of the Border" menu items are a hidden gem: the carne asada is very tender and has great flavor. The chicken fajitas are delicious, not oily at all. (Ask for both salsa options.) Other items me and my diners have enjoyed are the biscuits and gravy, the chili, and the turkey dinner.
Slightly expensive as Diners go, but it's not money wasted as the food is excellent. It's a relaxed vibe inside, not noisy, and (usually) not crowded. Looking forward to our next visit!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Hi Brian, thank you for your review, we appreciate your input. Regarding the kids' drinks, we agree and starting this week they will come with that choice. A lot of people have been asking for them so we figured it's time to give the people what they want! Hopefully we will see you in the near future.
Mar 21, 2019Previous reviewHadn't been here in a while, but remembered the kids eat free deal on Tuesday and it's Spring Break, so what do you say, little one?
They've re-done the interior and altered the menu a bit. My favorites were thankfully still there...kids meal worked out, but the drinks for kids are sodas only. If you don't want your kid drinking a soda, you're paying for anything else. The meal was free, but I was surprised that you couldn't have a drink choice for the kid (unlike every other diner/family restaurant).
Waitstaff took a LONG time at the start (we felt ignored, and the little lady wanted to go, but the coloring got time to pass) but it improved as the meal went on.
Not in a rush to return, but will eventually and see what's what. - Jan 14, 20237 check-ins
This place is great for that old school dining experience. Small parking lot in the back but the area isn't too busy (or at least on the rainy weekend it wasn't)
Service was fast & friendly
Food was good and had a home style feel to it.
I would highly recommend if you're trying to get out of the hustle and bustle of the Glendale & Downtown Burbank areaHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jun 20, 2023
We went for vacation in California. Our hotel that we stayed in did not offer a good breakfast choices. So, I googled a good breakfast place and Hill Street Cafe came up They have several locations. We opted for the one near my hubby's sons house. The place had plenty of seatings. It was clean and the servers were professional and friendly. The food was plenty and tasty. The server, forgot her name was very attentive to our needs. I recommend this establishment

Good food, nice staff. Great pot roast. We can not understand why there seems to be not many customers when we eat there. Give this place a chance, you will not be disapointed

Had some business to take care of in the area but was early, so decided to walk into this place. Its a time warp to the late 70s/early 80s in terms of decor and maintenance, but as I say in my reviews, I dont eat the furniture.
Around 8am mid-week only a handful of customers, I sat in one of the old-school booths and ordered a santa fe omelet with toast and hash browns. It was very filling and tasty; loaded with cheddar cheese. The hash browns were terrific and crispy shredded, with the crispy top sticking from frying, the way it should be done. Coffee was also good and topped-off frequently. A nice hidden find and surprisingly very good food. Costed about 20 bucks and even had enough to eat next morning and tasted just as good reheated.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thrift Shop H.Burbank, CA01Jan 22, 2024
This place has really good breakfast. Its usually not too busy so its perfect if you want to get away from the crazy crowds in Burbank. The place us to be an old Bobs Big Boy back in the day. Lots of free parking too! Ask for Modesto! Its family owned!
