I saw Hill Country Catering driving down El Camino one day. I checked the reviews here and thought I'd give them a try for my office's next event. I'm so glad I did!
John was very responsive and willing to accomodate the needs of my event from location technicalities and allergy/dietary needs. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. This is an annual thank you lunch for our volunteers and choir, and SO MANY of the attendees complimented the deliciousness of the food and the service. The brisket was melt in your mouth tasty and the grilled veggies were presented beautifully.
I added pictures, so check them out. We will definitely be using them again. -

Yum! I am still thinking about the food from Hill Country Catering. Our office is hard to please, but no one could turn down delicious BBQ--we got BBQ chicken and beef brisket, with baked beans, potato salad, and cornbread--and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. John was very friendly and professional. He usually does events, but agreed to do a lunch for us as he was on his way to a Stanford event. Despite the generous portions, pretty much everything was gone by the end of lunch. I would definitely recommend them for a gathering as he has his own truck for events. :)

These guys are da bomb! We used their catering services for our 100-person company BBQ in a public park. They were a totally professional organization. They worked with us closely and flexibly on the menu, coming up with great ideas and combinations. The food was delectable. We had their BBQ brisket, which was gen-u-wine Texas goodness -- moist, smoky, tasty. Also had the BBQ chicken. To my delight, that included boneless breasts, then drumsticks and thighs. Again, moist and perfectly seasoned. We also had their sausages, which were very high quality. Couple this with a veggie platter, baked beans, potato salad, cookies and cupcakes, and plenty of iced tea and lemonade, and we had one heckuva BBQ.
The prices were also darned good and the service was pitch-perfect. I would recommend Jon and his Hill Country BBQ to anyone looking to cater from 30 to 500. These guys know their stuff and they sure bring it. -

I don't do many reviews like this but after a holiday party that John at Hill Country catered I felt inclined. Fantastic food. I loved it. Whatever you do don't miss out of the brisket. It almost converted me to a Dallas Cowboys fan (but the I came to my senses). Cheers!

Absolutely fantastic grub. I've been to several BBQ's put on by Hill Country, and everytime I go back for third helpings. I've eaten at hard-core Texas places (Salt Lick, anyone?) and Hill Country ranks right up there. They'll be handling my next get together for sure. Plus, the staff and owners are fun to have at any party.

I recently tried Hill Country at a work sponsored event. I was not impressed. The chicken was dry and sides were cold. The metal serving pans looked like they haven't been cleaned in years. I really feel that 10 min of steel wool would have taken care of that. Careless. One of the caterers I think it was the owner, smelled like cigarettes. Super unprofessional. The complimentary cupcakes were a nice addition, tasty. The ribs were good, but the service and presentation were definitely subpar. I'd rather go to Armadillo Willis any day as it tastes better. Ugh!
