2 reviews for Hill Aerospace Museum
Hill Aerospace Museum is THE BEST Military Aerospace Museum I've ever been to, hands down. I was fortunate enough to have an hour to walk through the museum, and that hour did not do it justice. I could easily spend 4-6 hours looking through their collection of aircraft. It is THAT GOOD.
The museum has a collection of over 60 or 70 aircraft. That may not sound like much, but once you walk the museum and the grounds you get a good idea that this is a lot of planes. Not only that you get a sense of how big these planes are. Outside they have B-52, C-7, C-124, B-47, and a B-1 Bomber. You don't get too many opportunities to see a B-1 Bomber up close and personal. And that's on the outside.
On the inside they some of the personal highlights were the P-40, P-51, P-38, Mig 21, Mig 17, F-4, A-10, F-16, and a SR-71! Are you kidding me, if they just had the A-10 and SR-71 that alone would have made it worth the trip. But add to that all the other aircraft they have here and you have one of the greatest collections of aircraft open to the public you will EVER SEE!
Not only the aircraft but they also have a learning center that includes a couple of simulators and plenty of really cool learning computers and models about avionics that you can easily spend an hour just playing. Add to that they have a theater, uniform display room, and an art gallery, you have a great Aerospace Museum.
Now after all this information comes the price of admission, you may expect to pay $15 to get in. Wrong! How about $10?... Wrong! You can't tell me it's $5... yeap wrong again. It's FREE. But people are encouraged to leave a donation. So my suggestion is that, if after walking through this museum you don't feel like leaving a donation, there is something truly missing from your soul. Don't be cheap, leave a donation the experience there is well worth $5/per personal donation.
I ended up leaving $10 and even though I only spent an hour, it was worth every penny and would have done it for $20 just for 1 hour. Hill Aerospace Museum is THAT GOOD. If you are into aeronautics, THIS IS A MUST STOP! Hands down, one of the best Aerospace Museum you will every come across and definitely should take advantage and spend an afternoon/day there. Perfect 5 Stars and this is coming from someone who is very stingy about giving 5 Star Reviews out.
What a neat museum! I totally had fun.
