Went in because a part fell off the bottom of my glasses and a lens fell off.
I can't speak to how typical this is, but $17 and 10 minutes later I was driving away with glasses as good as new.
They quoted me 15-20 minutes, but the guy must have had his afternoon coffee already!
I love when a local business exceeds expectations.
Pro tip: the place looked completely closed when I parked and went in. Ring the bell and someone comes running out (literally, she was running!!!).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steffan K.Los Angeles, CA3527066May 18, 2018
Walked in and dropped off my glasses to have the nose piece reattached. My local eye glass shop wasn't able to do it, but they referred me here. They fixed it in under an hour, but for the $32 they charge, I would say the work wasn't exactly perfect. They did an awesome job fixing it, but it's not the prettiest soldering job. Better than I could ever do myself though. They are very nice and the service is excellent.

Yes, they can fix your broken glasses. But don't expect them to be fixed well. The transaction happens through a small window (like a bank teller). They made me fill out a form, hand over my glasses and wait. The clerk spoke broken English and the "technicians" are grungy guys who basically cut and weld the pieces.
When I got my glasses back, they had huge scratches in the area they fixed and when I pointed it out, the clerk said yes--she made a note of it on the form I filled. I said I only filled out my name and address on the forma and my glasses never had scratches. Basically, she noted them as scratched AFTER their technician scratched them to cover her a#s. Total scam. So yes, they can fix your glasses. But if you value them all, don't bother. They will scratch them and fix them very sloppily. Btw, another customer was there complaining how they botched her glasses and couldn't even put on the pads right.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Barb B.Norfolk, MA055Dec 17, 2018
I am just questionable about this place. I had glasses repaired there last week ($32) and they broke again today. They scratched the metal frame when they repaired them by the way. I brought back today and had to wait another hour for them. You would think if I had to go back because of their bad job last week they would fix them right away instead if making me wait. I thought being charged $32 last week just to fix the ear piece a bit much. All it required was an adjustment and a screw.

An important place, if you wear glasses.
Awesome service and prices, as well as hours of operation.
I wound up breaking an arm off a pair of frameless glasses (yikes!) and it was a no-brainer for them to fix it. I was told to wait one hour, and since I was wearing my spare glasses at the time (old, with an arm taped together, broken in the middle), I decided to give them those, too. Kill two birds with one stone!
For the spares, I was given the option to solder the arm, or replace both arms, but since the arms were already in bad shape, I had them replaced. I completely blanked on the nosepads, (it did not occur to me they can fix those.) but they replaced them too! If they had not done so, then I know they would have broken off soon, due to years of bending.
Very impressed. On top of that, you can buy clip-on sunglasses (the ones that they sell) and have them custom cut to the shape of your glasses. That's definitely something I am going to need.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bob H.Gloucester, MA1033May 25, 2016
I have glasses with fairly delicate wire frames which broke at the hinge. I walked in, was told it would take about an hour and cost $35 and change. A half hour later my glasses were on my face, beautifully repaired, tightened and squared up. Fantastic service!

This place is amazing! They fixed two fairly expensive pairs of glasses that I assumed I was going to have to throw out. They did it in under 2 hours.

This place is amazing!!! I thought I would have to go somewhere else and pay large amounts of money but they did it within a short amount of time and it was 29 bucks!!! That's a steal. I'm so happy I found this place.

I found myself with broken glasses the day before Thanksgiving, and I bought them 30 mins from my home. I looked on line and found Hilco. Being new in town, I didn't know what to expect. I was so happy when they were fixed in 10 minutes at a very reasonable cost. Everybody was so pleasant and helpful. People are right, a hidden gem!!!

I am tellin you this place is a hidden gem.
I brought in a pair of expensive glasses from a mall based "eye glass retailer" who basically said Sorry pal, your warranty is over so we can't help. I basically found HILCO through word of mouth and was amazed they could manufacture something to do some improv work to replace the hinge pieces I had lost from the frame, even though they did not carry the part.
On top of this, I was able to pick them up at 6:30 on a Friday night after dropping them off at lunch! Holy schneike!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
