Highland Park is a wonderful market on a variety of levels. I mean, where else does a smiling, polite person actually assist you out to your car with your groceries?
The produce is fresh and the variety is quite good - although if you are looking for something "ethnic" you will have to go elsewhere.... The meat is excellent, as is the poultry. The seafood is fresh, but the selection is somewhat limited....(i.e. no fresh mussels or clams in the summer). The take out section is great! The Sushi Chef is marvelous! They have a pizza chef on staff and the take out pizza is fresh, hot, flavorful and reasonably priced! The bakery is to die for! OOOOHH - check out the desserts! They have numerous desserts available either by the slice or in their entirety.... so much to choose from that it is difficult to know what to pick!
Excellent and knowledgeable meat and seafood departments. This is an upscale chain, so be prepared to pay as much if not more than what you would at Whole Foods. I love Highland Park, but because of the prices, reserve shopping here for special occassions only.
