WOW! This thin crust All American was sooooo good! It reminded me of the pizza I used to get at a place called Hanger#1 which is no longer in business but High Five seems to have captured that amazing taste.

The All American consists of pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, canadian bacon, salami, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, onions and linguica; your basic combination.

Their pizza sauce and dough really make this pizza stand out. Next time I'll order my pizza extra crispy.

Can't wait to try everything else on their menu!

GREASY and NO Free Refills!!!

I came here as I read the decent reviews of this place.  Those of you who said it was similar to Round Table were right on.

We ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza to share with myself and the kid that I mentor.   I saw a sign that said limit only one ranch dressing per order.  The pizza came out after 15 minutes and it was fresh out of the oven.  I had to pick up the pizza as they wouldn't deliver it to the table.  The pizza is nothing special and greasy.  I've had pizza all over the US, and this place does not compare to any of them.   If you put a napkin on the pizza,  you'll see how greasy it is.  YUCK!!!

I was done with my soda and wanted a refill, and they said I would have to pay for it!  Excuse me?!!! How cheap can they be?  I'm thinking is the tip I left them warranted?

I do NOT recommend this place to eat pizza in the San Jose area.  There are much better places, and heck I would rather go to Round Table where at least I would get my free refill.

This place is pretty cool. Good pizza (the Thai Chicken is yummy), lots of TVs, and great atmosphere. Has a very at-home feel to it. Prices are a little on the high side but the happy hour specials are pretty good.

Summary: 3.5/5 stars rounded down
+Pizza (love the crust)
+TVs everywhere!
+Atmosphere
-Kinda expensive
-Was hoping for more Cal fans to be there

Met some friends for dinner this evening and ordered the All American.  Excellent pizza!  Crispy crust was the key, all the toppings were good quality as well.  There will be a second visit for sure.

I've gotten take-out pizza from here about 5 or so times now and I have to up the stars. It's good pizza. Plus, even though I've never eaten in the restaurant, you can tell it's got a fun vibe. Sports fans gather at the bar and throughout the restaurant and get into whatever game is on the multiple TVs throughout the place. Looks like a lot of locals hang out here regularly.

Went here for lunch today. Since it was across the street from our work, it was pretty easy to get to. Just cross the street. This High Five was located in Silver Creek Valley next to Club One in the Sportplex.

I ordered the personal pizza, small salad, and a drink for a total out the door price of $7.57. The pizza was good. You get one topping so I got pepperoni. : ). The salad was decent. It's not just iceberg lettuce. It's on of those with weeds. LOL!! Pretty healthy.

The place is clean and pretty big. You'll be able to find a table if you have a large group. They do serve alcohol but do not have a full bar. So don't expect a martini or a lemon drop.

Overall I would go back again. Can't beat the $7.57 lunch specials. They have four different lunch specials: mini pizza with green salad, wedge salad/cesar salad, ravioli & garlic bread, or the sandwich with choice of macaroni salad, potato salad, or fries. Get a lunch card because if you go six times and get it stamped, you get the 7th lunch for free. This is only valid Monday thru Friday.

Sometimes it's hard to hear them say your name over the load speakers. That's my only complaint so far.

What happens when you make a Round Table pizza and then place it inside a High Five Pizza box?

You have a 3-star pizza that will average 4-star ratings on Yelp since it is not coming from a chain pizza restaurant!

In the past, scientists would give people placebos in medical/social studies and it produced interesting results. For example, some scientists would give patients real and fake medication for certain illnesses that were being researched.

Those given fake medication (placebos) felt better even though they had taken nothing to help their respective illness. And in an alcohol study, certain tests subjects were give fake doses of alcohol (placebos) and their behavior was altered, even though they had no alcohol in their system. For all intents and purposes, the mind is powerful thing. And as cliche as it sounds, it is a terrible thing to waste.

And well, I feel Yelpers are wasting it on some of these High Five Pizza reviews. For all of you that have reviewed High Five Pizza, please take a quick trip to Round Table Pizza and order a medium sized combination pizza. When it is ready, please take notice of the cheese, sauce, toppings, crust, and taste. And while you are at it, take a look at the salad bar.

Then go over to High Five Pizza and notice that they have the same exact salad bar and pizza as Round Table Pizza. It's uncanny. The crust, cheese, topping, sauce, and the taste. It's all the same. It would not surprise me if the owner of High Five Pizza used to manage a Round Table Pizza restaurant, saved up, and then started his own restaurant using the same crust, toppings, and sauce distribution companies.

Anyway, the combination pizza I had was as bland as C-Span. The sausage on my pizza was so dry and tasteless, I considered going vegetarian. The onion ring appetizer was the best part of the meal. And since I am feeling nice, I'll give them an extra star for the numerous screens located around the restaurant.

Other than that, there really is no reason for me to drive across town to eat here again since there is a Round Table Pizza down the street from my place.

I would have to say that this place is pretty good. I ordered a medium pizza thinking that i would be full off of it, but it was soo good that i wanted more. Really, their pizza was pretty damn good. I liked the whole atmostphere of this restaurant. Plenty of room, flat screens, and a bar. Reasonably priced, delicious pizza, but this place is kindda hard to find beacuase its hidden in the back corner! i would come back here to kick back and watch some football! 49ers!!!

I'm surprised I had not reviewed High Five yet, so here it is. I used to come here on a weekly basis with my buddies, but now I maybe go once a month...our lives have just gotten busier, the food remains great.

I noticed one reviewer stated that it is just Round Table Pizza at a non-chain location.... this reviewer must have had some really good Round Table Pizza somewhere before. High Five is quite possibly my favorite pizza. The crust is not too thick or too thin, the sauce has not nasty aftertaste to it (like Round Table leaves in your mouth), and if you ask for extra cheese, they sure give it to you and you won't question it.

They have some good beer selections and the prices on them aren't as insane as some other places... the potato skins are my favorite appetizer there. Probably my only gripe about the place is they don't have delivery service.... but I wouldn't even live in their delivery radius anyway so whatever.

The location has several HD TV's to watch sporting events. Pittsburgh Steeler fans come out of hiding and basically take over the place when the Steelers games are on. I have sat and nibbled on food while watching entire baseball games before.

This place is more like a Pizza Sports Bar.

Pizza is good, not too greasy but still just enough. Drinks are good, beer of course the most must have during a game on one of their flat screens as well.

Place is pretty big, so you can have big parties here.

Not much to be said...I sometimes come in and see people sleep in the corner why the group that they came with still eats.
Just means it feels like home?

I have only found one 4 star slice of Pie, regardless I will be back her for another fat day sunday,,,,,,

I watch what I eat and exercise on the daily, so my BF had an idea to have a fat sunday hahahaha I love it... We order unhealthy food and veg and watch movies nice way to end the week and start another!.

Our fat Sunday brought us to Hi- Five Pizza. It was yummy ( not uniquely fantastic) but yummy he ordere a halfer one side comb and the other br b q chicken yummy hahaha so how about i ate three slices of each so a total of 6 I couldn't help it, not the taste I would want pizza to be but the toppings were good.

I noticed that they have awesome choices of lunch specials, they also have bar b que night and dinner specials with tempting combinations!!!

To work of the flavorable toppings and dough I rode my bike from Mclaughlin all the way to Bascom the pizza a night before was totally worth the drive!!!!!!!! Now Zumba off I go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

High Five to you Hi-Five Pizza you scored three stars!

Had a recommendation to check this place out on top of lots of positive Yelp reviews.

Came here in the evening last week during the Lakers and Magics game. Surprisingly not as packed as Jakes during the Sharks playoffs which I am still getting over. Luckily we called ahead and did not have to wait for a table or wait for our pizza to be made. (this is an awesome tip: call ahead when ordering pizza, even if you are eating it there, you save so much time and your belly will not be rumbling as much) We ordered the All American pie which came with Pepperoni, Sausage, Ground Beef, Canadian Bacon, Salami, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Green Peppers, Onions and Linguica .

The pizza was just mediocre, reminded me alot of Jake's pies. But I definitely would choose Jakes over High Five based on taste. The pie could of used more sauce and I was not too crazy about how the crust tasted. Service here excels though, my  favorite part of the experience was the cashier, this semi-older man who called me "buddy" and "love." He was a sweetheart! The only strange thing was that you have to pick up your soda from the bar because its not self-service. All in all I can see how High Five is a great choice to kick back, have a cold one, and watch the game. Plenty of televisions and all you need under one roof.

This is a great place to go for lunch, pizza and watching sports. They've got tvs everywhere for your sports viewing pleasure.

Lunch specials are $7.50, either a salad & mini one-topping pizza or any sandwich off their menu. They've got lunch cards, and every 6 lunch stamps earns you a free lunch.

If you're going for the sandwiches, I suggest the Tri-Tip. It's by far their most popular, and their sandwiches are huge! You could even split it between two people if you're not that hungry. It comes with a drink and either macaroni salad or french fries.

In terms of pizza, my favorites are their chicken pesto and their thai pizza. If you're doing the lunch special, it's $3-$4 extra to get these pizzas. The chicken pesto has huge chunks of chicken on it and the thai pizza comes with toasted almond slivers.

I would give them 5 stars, but they don't accept the lunch card from the Hi-Five in the Silver Creek Sportsplex and vice versa. Plus the one in the sportsplex doesn't have a salad bar.

I've been coming to this place for probably 15 years now. I loved it when I was a little kid for the arcade games and I love it now for the great pizza, televisions, and atmosphere.

The arcade is tiny, only maybe 5 games stationed right next to the bathroom but kids still love it.

I almost always get an All American aka Combo pizza. Ingredients go very well together, especially the salami, delicious. Handful of good beers on tap including Sierra Nevada and Newcastle, both of which are $3 during happy hour.

There is no shortage of televisions in this place. Wherever you sit, you can probably watch your game playing on 3 different TVs and a different game on 2 others. All are flat screen and high definition. The atmosphere is great, can get very very busy on Friday nights and its one of my favorite places to catch a Giants game with other random fans.

The only knock I have is the price of the pizzas. $25 after tax for an XL pizza I felt was a little excessive, but I believe it is justified because it supports local business.

High Five Pizza is a local pizza joint located in south San Jose that is a great spot to watch any sporting event.  I'm surprised I haven't already done a review on them considering I've gone here so many times to watch football games. This place gets pretty packed during the football season, especially if the Steelers are playing.  This pizza joint seems to be the Steelers fan club HQ, so plan accordingly if their game is on as it gets completely jam packed.

Last football season I came here almost every Sunday (I missed one Sunday due to a hangover from partying too hard on a Saturday night, whoops) to watch the NFL games, eat good food, and try to keep up with all my fantasy football players by watching all the NFL games on their LCD TVs they have inside.  They show all the Sunday NFL games except for Raider and Cowboy games.  Even if I don't care about a particular game, if I had a player on either team, I would include it in my list of games to watch.

Sandwiches: The Slam Dunk and Philly Cheese Steak are both to die for.  The Slam Dunk is basically a French dip sandwich that has thin slices of tri-top topped with mozzarella cheese, backed on a French roll and you get to dip it into Au Jus sauce. OMG, when it dip it into the sauce it's so heavenly delish as your taste buds will explode full of flavor.  The Philly Cheese Steak is my second favorite sandwich here.  Pretty standard shredded beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, topped with melted cheese on a French roll that makes another savory choice.

Pizza: The All American, BBQ Chicken, and Thai Chicken Pizza rank as my favorite three.  The cool thing is this place allows you to order half and half, so you get to mix it up a little.  The All American is loaded with tons of meat.  It has Sausage, Canadian bacon, Salami, pepperoni, and ground beef.  How can you go wrong with an all-star lineup like that?  The BBQ chicken has a really tasty western BBQ sauce along with scrumptious boneless BBQ chicken that makes it another top notch choice.  Perhaps one of the most unusual, yet very tasteful pizzas is the Thai Chicken.  They have this peanut sauce that makes this pizza so unreal.  Other toppings include almonds, chicken, carrots, cilantro, red cabbage, and green onions which help make it highly pleasing and easily one of my favorites here. YUM!

Bummer: What I don't like about this place is they don't have no hard alcohol.  They serve beer, but can't get no shots or mixed drinks, bummer.

Summary: Pizza, football, and hanging with the homies = priceless.

i was going back and forth between giving this place 2 or 3 stars.  i've decided to go with 2...because seriously, it was a "meh, i've experienced better" type of feeling that i left with.  tonight was the big game between the packers and the vikings...from reading the reviews, we already knew that the place was going to be busy.  i don't mind eating at a crowded restaurant...but i do mind eating at a crowded restaurant with a bunch of disgusting pigs.  there were guys with their feet up while other people were trying to eat...people were belching so loudly, i could hear that over the stereo system.  gross.  blech.

i was hoping the food would make up for the crowd.  well, i was extremely disappointed.  first of all, the guy messed up my order.  i asked for thin crust but our pizza came out with a thick crust...meaning, that i was charged a few extra bucks also.  we ordered a half all american and the other half was the garlic chicken thing.  the pizza was tasteless.  the crust was just ok.  like i said, i've experienced better.  the fried zucchini was lacking flavor also.  all i could taste was the batter on the outside which wasn't very good.  we ordered a pint of hefeweizen which came without a lemon.  the whole point of ordering a hefeweizen is to add the lemon to it mr. bartender!  i remember reading someone's review about how the bartender got upset because  their pitcher of beer only came with one lemon.  so...we decided to just leave it be.  and i just thought to myself, maybe the bartender has a second job as a "save the lemons activist" or something.  sigh.

anyhoo, we thought we'd pack up our leftovers and try not to waste our food.  next thing you know, there was this HUGE spider webbing its way down from the big screen tv to our table.  we freaked out and left...by the time we got home, neither of us had the food.  we left it there for fear of the giant spider.  double sigh.  if the pizza had been really good, i'd seriously be bummed out.

i don't expect much service from a pizza place so i will give them the benefit of the doubt there...although the order was messed up.  the tv screens were great.  one star for that.

oh, and the guy that belched outside our car door was really attractive.  gross.  what happened to manners?  i won't be returning here again.

Alright, came here to meet up with friends and watch the sharks game.
$9 for pitcher of domestic beer.  Not Round Table Status, but I'll let that slide.  This place was packed.  A lot of LCD's to watch games.  Pizza seemed decent or comparable to Round Table.  I will be back to try their pizzas.  They offer sandwiches that range from $7-9 and combo appetizer which consists of garlic bread, onion rings, potato skins and fries.

This is a great family style pizzeria, the kind everyone remembers before Round Table and other places took over as the leading pizza places.

They have a ton of great beers on tap, several LCD TV's with sports playing on them.

Their menu is very versatile as it's not just pizza and salad.  They have wings, onion rings, fries, burgers, and their French Dip sandwich is the BOMB!

Their pizza is top notch and they have stolen my business from Round Table and Mountain Mikes.  They use nothing but top notch ingredients and extra hot ovens so your crust is crispy but the cheese and toppings ARE NOT rubbery.

Great food, great prices, and great atmosphere!

High 5 pizza ROCKS!!

I love this place! We came back for dinner last night since we hadn't been in a while. The order remained the same Lg. Combo w/Jalapeños and cold tomatoes, personal pepperoni, wings and fries. The combo was especially good this time, they loaded it with tomatoes and jalapeños and the crust was a little crunchy so even with so many toppings the pizza was easy to pick up and shove in my mouth (I mean, eat).

I think the prices went up a little though, which wouldn't be surprising. All the food plus a pitcher of soda came to $40. Next time I'll rethink getting the wings, they were good, but for $8.50 I expect a little more. This won't keep me away though! =)

I used to frequent this place a lot when I worked in South San Jose and I loved it.  While I haven't been here during football Sundays or when the Sharks play, I'm sure its hectic.  They got a good number of large LCD's througout.

Their pizza's are excellent, but their grand slam sandwiches (tri tip, with au jois sauce, yum.) are the BOMB!  Friendly staff - be careful of getting blinded by rock that is sitting on the owners finger.  That thing was massive.

Catering Review Only.

So I've had pretty bad experiences with any company catered food, but High Five totally turned that around. We had smoked tri tip and pork ribs as our mains and they were cooked really well, really good smoke flavor and tender meat. Also, the fruit plate was very fresh, much better than what the other department had for their catered meal.

The catering staff also stuck around and made sure the food stayed hot as well as cleaned up afterward.

The other department said we have a bigger budget though, somehow I believe that.

I'm a big fan of High Five, I live nearby and it is a great neighborhood hangout.  In fact, I will straight up call it the best sports bar of the south bay.  15 or so Plasma TV's and autographed jerseys of Bay Area legends decorate the walls, while great sporting events are showing everywhere.

The pizza and sandwiches are fantastic too.  The style of pie is similar to Straw Hat or Round Table, but a notch better.  They also have a few creative pizzas like the BBQ Chicken or the Garlic Chicken.  Their Olympic Gold Metal Burger is one of the better burgers you'll have, and their tri-tip sandwich is also a belly buster.

On Wednesdays, they have a BBQ plate meal - with steaks, chicken, ribs, etc.  Really good stuff, at a reasonable price.

If you are ever looking forward to a good sporting event on the tube, plus some great food - High Five is your place.

Food is pretty good here... I came on BBQ Wednesday which was a mistake but luckily I scored a table woooo. We ordered the jalapeno poppers which were not good at all, a small pepperoni which was DELICIOUS and a full rack of ribs. The ribs were cooked very well, the meat fell right off of the bones.. mmm.. their bbq sauce is very unique. Has a small hint of bourbon or some type of alcohol....

The pizza has a lot of cheese on it. I don't mind because I LOVE CHEESE but a lot of my friends were complaining that it was a little too much. So they ordered extra pizza sauce on their pizza and they said it helped a lot in balancing the tastes.

Back to the jalapeno poppers. Mine were a bit cold. (sad) I love jalapeno poppers but these were not worth the 6 dollars. Cold cheese inside and overall soggy.. *sigh* oh well..

Overall, I had a really good time. The people are very friendly at this place and the food is actually very good. $36 for jalapeno poppers, a small pizza and a full rack of ribs. YUM xoxo

Fair weather fans, galore. Seriously, if you are a Steeler fan, this is the place for you.

High Five has really really good food, but the service is miserable. I moved recently and haven't been back because of it. The majority of the employees carry about the restaurant like hungover zombies.

How hard is it to smile? Or say, "hello?" Or, "Thank you?"

I despise SOGGY PIZZA!

Is it really that hard to make a veggie pizza with a crispy yet dough-y crust?

PLUS 1 star because they let you order half and half's and they've got tv's all over the place. I love sports, and if you're into beer, pizza, and watching sports you'll probably love this place.

Pizza is better than let's a say a domino's or a pizza hut, but yea, still wasn't too impressed.

We went here tonight (a Friday) and in retrospect, we shouldn't have!  It's definitely a popular place, and it was very crowded tonight.  We ordered jalapeno poppers, a medium pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage, a beer, and a fountain drink.  Once you pay for these things, you have to get in another line at the bar to get your drinks... Kind of a pain, especially if you're not good at getting a bartender's attention, like us.

Tables are hard to come by, but we ended up snagging a booth, so that was nice.  The jalapeno poppers came out pretty quickly, and they were very good.  BUT the insides were a tad cold.  I think they should have been cooked awhile longer.

The pizza was actually pretty small for a medium, but it ended up filling us up because we had an appetizer.  We ordered a thick crust pizza, and it was decent.  My favorite part was definitely the semi-spicy (some may call it "zesty") sauce.  The toppings didn't really blow me away, and I'm not sure I liked the cheddar on the pizza..  I love cheddar, but on a pizza?  I don't know..  Overall, the pizza was very Round Table-y..

A pet peeve:  I wanted a refill on my drink, and they charged me the price of a drink for it ($1.50).  That is kind of a rip-off...  In my humble opinion.

As far as prices are concerned, our total for everything came a little under $30.  Not TOO bad, but the pizza was pretty small, so eh..  The food here was decent, and I'd probably try again eventually... But my list of pizza places to try is ever-growing, so we'll see..

Pizza is still outstanding, they've added a few new beers, but really I'm writing an update because they've changed the way food and drink ordering works, and for the better! Now, instead of two separate purchasing lines, you go to the food ordering line and order the drinks at the same time, then pick them up at the bar. A small change but one that has really helped the traffic flow.

This place reminds me of pizza parlors that I used to hit up for post-season Little League get togethers.

We had a medium thin crust All American Pizza which is their combination pizza and a pound of hot wings.  I liked the pizza.  The crust was nice and crispy and the toppings were plentiful.  The wings were ok.  I wish they were spicier or hot sauce was available.

I also wish this place had a fountain and free refills.

I somewhat felt sorry for the Bills fan that cheered on his team.  Wide right :(

Although the food is super duper good and yummy and delicious, I get the feeling the employees here do not lead such a charmed life. Let's start with the hand written signs in Caps, underlined, with more than enough Exclamation Points that scream the following:

"PLEASE keep the door Closed!!!!"

"Out of Order. Do not remove this sign!!"

"Outside food is NOT WELCOME. That means do not bring any food or drink inside it is not allowed!!!!"

etc. etc. etc.

So after this warm welcome, you get a bi-polar cashier who takes your order. You can finally order sodas at the register now (before all drinks came from the bar). Guess they finally realized it's illegal for children to order from the bar, even if it's soda.

If you do choose to order an adult beverage you will deal with the meanest rudest and seemingly unhappiest of all bartenders, all of whom have pretty much no experience pouring beer from a tap. It takes them about 12 minutes to pour a pitcher because they don't know the trick of leaning the pitcher to the side to let out the foam as the beer is poured.

And finally, when they call your name for you to pick up your order you will reach an empty stare should you wish to have some ranch or extra plates. When your point finally gets across  you will get tossed one plastic ramekin or something equally insufficient.

The most entertaining and amusing anecdote from last night's dinner was when we asked the cashier to send someone over to clean our table and she replies someone should be around soon as if that were good enough.

I only crave High 5 on occasion, but to be honest the service here just ruins my appetite. I doubt I will be back.

for some reason, i love coming to this place when im hung over. hah!

high five has always been one of my favorite pizza shops. i love this place, because they offer more than just pizza. they have chicken wings, sandwhiches, a salad bar, and a full bar! A great place to come watch your favorite sports game on tv. also a great environment for kids to run around, because they have a little arcade of games in  the back. i love their individual sized pizza. they are the perfect size and cooked to the perfection! light and crispy but full of toppings! The kids love coming here, especially after swimming. They go nuts when i tell them "we're going to high fivesss!!" The price is great, and the kids are all able to choose a pizza to their own personal taste! no more arguing kids about what pizza to get! come try it out for yourself! ;) maybe you'll see me, with two wild kids running around! haha

I absolutely love this place.  My family and I have been coming here since it was first opened (when it had the basketball machine).

I often come here to watch Warriors games with an enthusiastic crowd.  The service is good and fast.

Some of the good things to get here:  Tri-Tip Sandwich, Garlic parmasean Pizza, Slam Dunk (French Dip Sandwich), Fried Zuccini, Buffalo WIngs.... and dont forget the Wed Nite BBQ.

Wow, I haven't been here in YEARS!!! But what a great way to totally kill a 2 hour work out. LOL.

The pizza is good. I wouldn't say it's the greatest but I walked out pretty satisfied. All American medium for $15 (12 slices). Hot wings are good, however, a bit on the pricey side. Some of the wings barely had any meat on it so that sucked. Jalepeno poppers were delicious. Sodas SHOULD have free refills.

Came during slow hours and there wasn't a game on so it was fairly quiet in there. I can see the place getting crazy during game times. Had some kids running wild but it is what it is, a family environment. If you get annoyed easily with all the ruckus going on then this probably isn't the place for you. Or you can just sit outside and watch cars go by. FUN!

Nice spot to hang out with some friends and spend way less than Round Table.
