The Hide Gallery is a cool downtown newish arty space. It's in on the industrial side of Locust on Front Street. If you're an old Santa Cruz hand you'll remember this building as the old taxi stand. The Hide Gallery, near as I can tell, is a joint venture between some friends to open a place that rotates the work of local artists and also has unique clothes and accessories. I went there for an opening and thought this would be a good place to come back to find Christmas gifts for those special surfer/skater/tattoo artist/neo-punk musician friends. The people were really friendly, they weren't all "art gallery."
