Hidden Brook is right next door to Lost Creek Winery. Lost Creek is owned by the father and Hidden brook by his son. All in the family!
This was a quaint place with a nice porch to sit on. The log cabin feel was very cool and not something you often see at a Virginia winery.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Just like Lost Creek the prices here are great! Most bottles are $13-$15. We bought 3 when we visited.
I love wine and visiting wineries but I'm no snob. I appreciate a wine for what it is. I don't compare them to others of the same variety. The bottom line: I liked these wines. I'll visit and buy again, no doubt!

Definitely better than Lost Creek next door. Long cabin building with pine trees all over the acreage. Upon walking in, the staff was friendly and greeted us. My girl had the sampling of wines and GOT to keep the glass unlike Lost Creek. The prices of the wines were very good (sweet) as well as the wines. Thumbs up for Hidden Brook.

Not much better than sister winery, Lost Creek, but nevertheless, better. Wine is still thin and watery and smells like a damp, moldy basement. Service was much better at Hidden Brook than Lost Creek; more personable and engaging. The wife liked one of their wines, so we did buy a bottle.
I'd suggest stopping by if you have a few minutes and don't mind Virginia wines. Try Lost Creek too for the comparison (both are owned by the same family) if you have time. Just don't come expecting the best wine you've ever had.
The sister winery of Lost Creek---Hidden Brook is right next door and is a great winter winery. Housed inside a log cabin, with a roaring fireplace (can't remember if it's authentic or gas), plus some tables outside to watch the pine trees if it's warm enough. The wines are too sweet for my taste but there are a few drier selections. If you like sweet wine, this is the place. The prices are decent.
If you like sweet wine, hit this place. After tasting of 10 for $3, which starts with sweet wines and gets sweeter and sweeter, you will have a double buzz from alcohol and sugar. We bought a bottle of Merlot, a nice table red with a hint of oak and probably the least sweet.
The lady (her husband is the wine maker who is a son of the owners of Lost Creek Winery next door) was nice and charged two of us for only one tasting fee. Ladies beware, they only have porta potties.

Not a fan of sweet wines.
When Hidden Brook and Lost Creek first opened, I tended to prefer the wines at Hidden Brook, but this year I seem to prefer Lost Creek's.
This is a very nice place to visit, everyone I've met here has been great, and the tasting room also has tables that you can use to bring your picnic lunch in inclement weather. The tables out on thedeck also provide a nice place to sit, eat, and enjoy a glass of wine on a good day.

Very chatty pourer but super nice and excited about the wines (that's super important for me). Not a busy place and the pours are hefty so make sure your DD takes it easy. VERY sweet wines which is right up my alley. After a while you get a bit of a sweet-headache. An interesting fact: they built the tasting room in a few weeks with the help of the community. It was like a big Lincoln Log kit she said.
