as good as it gets folks.
found this place from yelp and was pretty skeptical about everyone's reviews before me giving this place 5/5 stars. Usually when something is too good to be true it is. And i'm not giving it 5/5 star just because everyone else did.
as i entered i was offered something to drink before even explaining my situation. Very welcoming, professional, and friendly staff.
the interior chrome door handles of my 03 honda civic were coming apart. tho, i bought the car used, i didn't mind how they looked until day by day it started to bother me. i also needed my side window replace.
no job is too small for Hi-Quality. Edgar Gomez helped me out by giving me a quick, straight up, and honest estimate on how much and how long will it take to complete the job.
i've actually searched for the parts online but without luck. Edgar made a few phone calls and found all the parts would arrive in just a day. I sit down with Edgar, he answers all my questions, sums up the total and tells me he won't charge me for labor for the mirror, just for the part. all the parts and labor was pretty reasonable. SCORE! with a small cash deposit and a signature i was good to go till the parts come in.
a day after, Edgar calls me saying the parts are good to go and ready whenever I can get my butt over there.
as i arrive about 2 hours later, Edgar is there waiting for me. He tells me it'll take no more than an hour and to just take it easy at their lounge inside [which has a tv, magazines, and even a mini refrigerator for complementary water and pop for customers just like myself. Edgar offered me drinks TWICE the one hour i was there.
as i wait and watch the obnoxious, self centered and annoying tyra banks show, Edgar gives me an update on whats going on with my car, keeping me in the loop, and that the handles are already good to go and they are working on the mirror.
another 13 mins pass and Edgar shows up again saying his workers are actually washing my car??!! totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. at no charge by Hi-quality.
the job entire was completed in 1 hour and 13 mins. a little longer than what Edgar originally estimated but i got a FREE car wash so... WHO THE HELL SHOULD BE COMPLAINING?!!
paper work and payment was completed very quickly, accurate, and professionally. My total actually came up a little less than what it was on the first invoice. be sure to double check your numbers, people! Again, totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. They gave me a written proof of warranty and my invoice/receipt.
Edgar walked me out explaining the warranty of my parts and said to come back whenever i needed anything for my car, even if it was just a light bulb change.

This review is really late but I still want to leave my experience!
I am a teacher who works in an East LA school. I had just purchased my lovely little Honda Civic back in January. One day I was headed to my car and found the front hood all kinds of scratched up! I was fuming! :( What to do?
Luckily, it looked like the idiot that did it did a piss-poor job and only scratched the top coat - not the actual paint. As I live in Pasadena I wanted to find a detail shop in my neighborhood so I checked Yelp. I found great reviews for Hi Quality which made me a little skeptical but figured I'd give them a shot.
I stopped by at closing on Friday night and was greeted right away by Edgar. He took one look at my car and said, "oh, no problem - we can buff that out - no painting required." He apologized that they couldn't do it tonight but if I could stop by the next morning they would see to it. I inquired about the cost and he said, "no charge - this is a small job."
I felt a bit unsure about no cost but came back the next morning. I was greeted this time by a service guy and when I told my story he said, "oh, sure, Edgar mentioned you would be in - let me get him." I was already happy - they were already on top of things and expecting me. For me, this is not a common thing at auto shops!
Edgar grabbed my keys and handed them to his tech. He then showed me to the waiting room where I was offered something to drink (for free - no vending machine!) and he asked if I wanted the TV on. I said I was ok with my newspaper and he left. Edgar checked on me about 2-3 other times and made sure I was ok. The whole process took about 30 minutes which was what was promised.
When I went to my car it was like new! All scratches gone - it looked fantastic! I brought money as a tip for the tech as I know he still spent time working on this car. I felt bad not paying as hey - it's still a job! :) Edgar flat out refused my money - I kept insisting and explained my dad works for the auto industry and I know this was not a "free" job. Edgar had Elliot (the owner) come over and also insist that I do not leave money - that a good review on Yelp or telling a friend about them was payment enough.
I was beyond pleased with the service - everyone was helpful and friendly at all times. The work was completed as promised and the car looks like new! I hope to never need an auto body shop again (fingers crossed!) but if I do I will DEFINITELY go to Hi-Quality again!
Great shop! If you ever get into a car accident or need a fresh paint job, or even a minor bumper repair, go to this shop.
Ask for Elliot, you're in good hands.

This review is long over due. I came here about two months ago after having damaged my side mirror. The dealer quoted me $200 just to get a piece of mirror replaced. $200 just to fix a broken mirror the size of your hand is just ridiculous. So I went to High Quality after my sister's recommendation and they took care of everything for me. They fixed the mirror, gave my sister & I each a free drink, and at the end even gave me a free car wash. All for under $16. I was really blown away. Do people like this really exist? To this day, I am still in awe. Yes, there are good people out there. People out there who are willing to help and will not overcharge you for anything. I really can not thank them enough. Edgar, you're wonderful! High Quality, you're the best!
Part 1 (Not too happy):
This is a progress review since we have not gotten our car repaired yet. My wife received an estimate from Jose and he asked her to email him our insurance company estimate so he could review it and get back to her. She emailed and heard nothing for a few days. She called and he wasn't around so left a message. After a fews with no return call, I decided I stop by to discuss the repair. He hadn't looked at the email or acknowledged my wife's message. I considered going elsewhere but the location is convenient and we don't have time to shop around. I hope the repair goes well. To be continued...
Part 2 (Getting better):
The owner, Elliot, called my wife yesterday (8-28-09) and apologized for the lack of response. He said Jose is new and will have Edgar take care of us. We had some questions about the estimates from HQ and our insurance company and Elliot was very responsive in addressing them. We drop off the car tonight so my final rating will be submitted after the repair.
Part 3 (Final):
Elliot has really taken care of us after finding out we had some initial concerns. He said that Edgar was ill at the time we had some issues so he was short on staff. That makes more sense since High Quality has had perfect reviews so our experience seemed uncharacteristic.
During the repair, Elliot kept us updated on the progress. He even noticed a door ding that we ahead and took care of. When we picked up the car, he made sure it was polished (even the exhaust tips) and ready to go. That sounded more like Hi Quality!
I saved over 200 dollars by going to Hi-Quality Auto Body. I needed my side mirror replaced after it had been knocked off. The dealership gave me a quote of $450, another auto-body shop quoted the job for $470, and my mechanic cousin was going to do the job for free but needed $350 for the parts. I found HQ through Yelp and thought I'd give it a try. When I walked in, they immediately made a few phone calls to try to get me the cheapest parts. Within 5 minutes, I was told that they were able to find a used mirror for $125 and the total cost would be just over $200 dollars.
The people who work there seemed honest and are definitely very friendly. They did all the negotiations with the parts people in front of you, so you know you're not being totally ripped off.
Once, the part came in, I was out the door in less than an hour. Even though I just went in to replace my side mirror, my car came out looking brand new. They do a very thorough cleaning inside and out.
When I came to pick me my car up I saw an elderly couple struggling to fix a flat tire outside. It was probably over 90 degrees outside, so this was a terrible situation for them. The guys at H-Q went out there and asked the couple to come inside and have a drink. Within ten minutes they changed out the flat tire and put in the spare without charging them a dime!
It goes without saying, but the people at H-Q are hard to find good honest people. I highly recommend them to anyone!
The Best of the Best. Hi Quality Auto Body definitly holds up to there name, not only for the quality repair work but with customer service,Customer care is just as important as the quality of there repairs. I had them restore my 1967 Nova from the ground up and couldn't be more pleased. Show Quality. In summary just a great bunch of people that go way out of there way to make there customers happy which is unheard of anymore. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.I would just like to add that my insurance company tried to steer me towards there own body shop saying that I would have to pay anything above what there adjusters damage estimate was, It's our right to go were we choose, which I did and Hi-Quality auto body made sure all numbers matched. Great job guys. Thank You

Some retched human being hit and ran my car, leaving me in his dust with tons of damage and stress. Dealing with my insurance company was a big mess. I was so over the whole situation. I thought getting my car repaired would be an added headache, but Hi-Quality was like a much need Tylenol during this stressful time.
A family friend recommended this place, and I'm so glad he did.
People here are super nice, professional and very informative.
It was refreshing to talk to people that care about whats going on with your personal situation, also to walk you through the steps of what they have to do.
Chill waiting room area with delicious beverages and a big TV.
I swear when I got my car back it was like I won a brand new car. Looked just like the day I bought it.
This place is definetly as GOOD AS IT GETS WHOO HOO! Got into a minor scrape the other day (not my fault) and after going to a couple places to get estimates, i was about to settle for this chinese place based on my friend's referral. But the lady who hit me actually recommended this place to me, so i got myself there before closing and as soon as i got outta my car, Elliot, the owner there, came up to me and introduced himself. In fact, he even knew my circumstance since the lady had told him that i'd be on my way. He quoted me an estimate, which actually matched the estimate i got at the other place, and after talking to elliot who made sure that i understood that i could choose my own body shop and did not have to go to the one the lady (the one who hit me) chose for me, fell in love for the first time...with a body shop. From the get go, he made sure that I was taken care of, walked me through everything, and treated me like a VIP client. (extra star for the free refreshment especially since it was still burning hot out, even after 5pm!) the whole process was so painless, as other reviewers mentioned, and when i went to pick up my car, i was actually a little early since i had a deadline to drop off my rental, so i got to his shop early, but they got a buncha guys working on my car, washing it, and got it back to me so much earlier than i expected! On top of that, he noticed a small imperfection on my bumper, not even part of the original damage, that he wasnt able to completely fix, so he offered to fix it...for FREE, AND pay for my rental car (since it'd hafta be repainted and kept overnight) Now remember, this imperfection isnt even the reason i took my car in in the first place...he fixed that on his own while he was fixing the damage from the accident...AND because he couldnt completely get rid of it, he offered me a free rental and fix on another date! Had he not pointed it out to me, i would never have been able to even see it! And this wasnt just an empty promise, he actually had alex (the lady who handled my paperwork, an absolute gem) note it down in my file! I was so shocked, im pretty sure i didnt even thank him properly...
Hats off to Hi-Quality, Elliot, Alex, and everybody there. There's a reason this place has consistently won rave reviews. And as if that's not enough, this place has actually been voted one of LA's best businesses...they're filming the shop for a tv show! i'm gonna do my part to tell the world, and since my world isnt big enough...yelp, i'm telling you too!
Nobody like to have to get their car fixed up after some minor run-ins and scratches. But when you do, you want to get it taken care of right and with a reputable business. Like everyone else so far..I had a great experience with Hi Quality. They kept me up to date almost daily on the status of my vehicle. At delivery time, my car was not only fixed, but much cleaner inside and out than how I brought it in. People are very friendly and worth the drive for me to get out to them (live in South Bay). Would definitely recommend and use again..hopefully won't have to (crossing my fingers)!
Man, if your car gets hit, and you have to deal with those insurance bitches, then get your ass to Hi-quality. I could not have gotten through the process without their help. Their assistance was incredible, they called the insurance company numerous times advocating on my behalf, and the information and guidance that Elliot and Leti gave me was priceless. They helped me get the best amount for my car, and dealt with everything from having it towed to them, to dealing with my AAA account to have it towed away. You can rest assured that if you have any auto body or collision needs that Hi-Quality will take care of you.
Im am extremely impressed with how professional and nice the staff were when I had my lil car problem. Elliott is the owner and he is a super cool dude. He comes out looks at your car and knows exactly whats up. He gives you a no BS estimate and he works a lot faster than Marcos Auto Body. When I got my car back I got it back like new. Nice facility and 24 hour security so I know my car is protected. NICE JOB HI- QUALITY!!!
I recently had my car fixed at Hi Quality Auto Body and could not have been happier! The staff us super friendly and make you feel totally at ease. Their work is stellar and you can't even tell at all that my car had been in an accident. Ask for Elliott becuase he is amazing and really knows his stuff. They work with any insurance and will have your car back to you before you know it. I would never take my car anywhere else for body work except for here. Hi Quality is awesome!
