One of the lesser known smaller beaches of the national seashore, this beach is perfect for swimming. Much less crowed than the other popular beaches in the area, it's easy to find a spot to stretch out on for the day. You're going to see some interesting sights so don't say I didn't warn you when oil slicked boys in blinding white Speedos with Gucci sunglasses sashay by.
most importantly however is the water, and yes while the sand, as others have mentioned, is rough when the water is this warm and clear you won't care about the rocky bits or the speedo bits for that matter.

A nice beach - great place to watch the sun set. Great place to scope cute gay guys (and some not-so-cute, but it's the beach, people gotta sun!)
Just waaaayyyy too rocky. Nothing that can be done about that, but just know that there are less rocky beaches close by.
Ok, this isn't a horrible beach.
It doesn't have a lot depth to it but is fairly wide. It has bathrooms, shower & rinse off areas and a vending area. Parking is also decent. Water isn't overly strong for the kiddies (wave wise) and a nice ocean view.
Here goes my slam. This has to be one of the rockiest beaches I've ever been on. There is no way you are walking anywhere on this beach without going "ooh e, ouch". You NEED to wear sandals at a minimum anywhere on this beach. Sand? what sand? They should name the beach "rock beach" or "your feet will kill you beach". Trust me, when you get off the beach your feet will love ya.
When you get into the water, it's rocks amplified.
Don't exfoliate your feet before walking on this sand. I'm just sayin'... you've been warned.
Some highlights include:
-Beautiful setting
-Quiet and serene
-Lots of gorgeous shiny rocks in the sand for collecting
-Bathrooms nearby, but not seen from the beach
There are no faucets to wash you're feet when you head back out (that I noticed)...
Oh, and, thank you, to the group of lesbians that looked at me like I was a tasty ham sandwich. Actually, my ego and I both thank you.

A beautiful beach with sand dunes and small waves. The area near the parking lot had a good number of people during peak season. There are also showers, bathrooms, and beverage vending machines in the area (vending machines take change and one-dollar bills only). There's not always an open food stand. Contrary to the appearance of some maps, this beach is NOT close enough to Bradford Street to just stroll over. Only walk, if you are up for a lengthy hike. Hiking to Herring Cove from Bradford Street can be interesting, with trails over sand dunes and little ponds with fish; but to efficently get there, either bike, use the shuttle, or a taxi. And don't forget to bring beach shoes for sharp rocks. Best shoes are not open-toe.
One of the most gorgeous beaches I've seen in Massachusetts, and possibly New England.
While we Yelpers were not there for long, I enjoyed our casual stroll looking for all the gorgeous rocks and getting my feet wet in the water. It was a bit chilly but warmer then other beaches I've been to.
This was also the place where the other hotties I was with (including myself), got scoped out by the ladies! The only time all day we were oogled. It felt good, so I have to shout out to them. Sorry we don't bat with you but we still appreciate the gesture!
This beach is amazing. The water is so warm. Very swimmable.
Either drive or bike here. If you walk, be in good shape as it is quite a work out.
Being here feels like you are out in another world. You are so far away from everything. Try to walk the rock break water and make it to the point lighthouse! You can make it!
I advise to stay clear from the parking area, as it is full of kids and tourists and RV's.
Hike in and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Yes the dunes are cruisey w/ naked men lurking about.

I wasn't as thrilled about my experience as others who reviewed it have. I didn't mind the walk out but once I got there it was so rocky! I don't like rocky beaches as it is comfortable to lay on and walk on, etc. The water was nice and warm and the views were nice - but it was a bit out of my way and definitely would not return.
There is the wood end lighthouse not to far of a walk that is nice though. There is some of the naked homos as well but not too many.
my favorite of the cape beaches!
The water is really warm and clean and you do not feel like you are in a cess pool like on other bay side beaches.
The beach is big, the porta-potties are not so good and unless you are gay and looking for a hook up do not go back into the dunes. But there is a lot of parking, and the beach and water is just the best relaxation ever. Maybe this is because I would nurse a hangover here all day and every day for a month, but seriously, it rocks!

A small and narrow beach but it is fairly devoid of crowds, and it is just gorgeous! Plenty of rainbow umbrellas among others - and families, gays, lesbians, straights, couples, singles - all enjoying the scenery, the sun and the beach. I even made some random friends while walking on the beach picking up shells and pretty rocks, a really nice couple from Brooklyn now but grew up in Jackson Heights (which is sooo cool because I live in Jackson Heights now)!!! I would totally go back here whenever I'm in Provincetown next. Oh, the parking costs $15 for the day but it has in and out privileges and it includes parking at all the neighboring beaches, so it's totally worth it!!! Next time, I'll make sure I wander the dunes too, though.

Nice beach, swimmable water, rarely big waves. Around the parking area is crowded but enjoyable. The shower and toilet building is creepy, hope it is replaced by now. Slightly down beach to the left is the lesbian section. Sometimes the boobs are flying, but atmosphere is friendly and respectful. Keep going down another mile and the men hang out here. Gay men. And that is the way it should be. They are at play and not for the straight people to bother. We are friendly and courteous but don't enter our world if you aren't familiar with it. Nudity and cruising and sex in the dunes. If you pass the bikes on the road, that is the back door path to the beach. Don't say i didn't warn you. LOL Now go out and tan all those white places.

One of the best beaches on the Outer Cape, next to Race Point. The little tidal pool that comes in during high tide is SO MUCH FUN! I have been going ever since I was little, and was too scared to full on brave the FREEZING oceanside of the Cape, so this little pool was nice...so bring your kids, and you won't have to worry about them getting knocked over by the waves! (just make sure to look up the tide chart so you go when the pool will be filled in!)
Anyways, it is nice, and I never worried about parking because I always drove my truck over the dunes. It gets really crowded in the summer, but if you keep on driving down the beach you can find a semi private spot away from all the trailers. Just make sure to watch out for the Piping Plovers! These endangered birds are protected on much of the CC Nat'l Seashore..and you will see parts of the beach blocked off so they can breed. And, if you are driving on the dunes, make sure to take enough air out of your tires...we have gotten stuck a few times going over those little dune hills!!!
For its stellar swimming and amazing atmosphere, this beach gets the highest marks of any that I have visited in New England. Go for the warm, clear, calm, and clean water, which will always be dear to my heart as it is the first place where I managed to do a proper freestyle. Go to relax on the slightly rocky sand that may be a tad unwelcoming but doesn't end up in every orifice of your body while you sunbathe. (Just make sure you have flip-flops and a towel, because the sand does get awfully hot during sunny summer days.) Go for the incredible array of people, all jumbled together comfortably along the shore. Go and feel a bit better about yourself, the world, and your place in it. Not to get too sentimental, but that's what Herring Cove does for me.
Great beach for swimming. Take the bus or drive in, Or ride your bike but it's still a pretty decent hike once you've locked your bike up. Go to Race Point for the sunset, but go to Herring Cove for a nice swim. It can get packed with breeders, so set up your stuff as far down the beach as you can handle. This beach is definitely second best in Ptown, but it's still darn good.

There is a great deal of parking, which is a plus, but definitely do not wander into the dunes unless you know what you are doing.
