This place has cute stuff. I just walked away with like 4 items for under 30 bucks. Yay soooo the value. Nevertheless it's like a cheaper version of Urban or Anthro. The quality of the stuff isn't super cheap either like Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe where you basically wash it once and it's over.

A fellow yelper and I used to pick our best dressed mannequin(s) whenever we walked by a Forever 21 display window:

"They should make a Forever 21 store for guys", he joked [or not].
He also mentioned something about how girls always had better/trendier clothes compared to a guy's Hot Topic shirt and Old Navy outerwear we were all sporting at the time.

It wasn't until they opened up the Valley Fair location that I realized the mass appeal of F21 to the ladies.. it's cheap, and posh as fcuk. I usually buy most of the brand online because the selection is wider than the actual store. A minus is that maybe because it is side-off of a predominantly female line, they run almost 2 sizes small.

Case in point, the linen vest I purchased off the website as a Large, never really buttoned over my torso comfortably. The store accepted my online exchange (as it should, of course), + the young lady at the counter was very friendly & helpful. This is the only H1981 I know of in the South Bay, so if any girl plans to shop clubwear for their man, get here because these prices are a steal.

I miss the 80s.  1981-85 was my Duran Duran period when I had a collection of skinny ties and Nick Rhodes was my fashion idol.

Forever 21 opened a new concept store, Heritage 1981.  They have men's and women's clothing as well as jewelry and accessories, inspired by 1981 (but not the Duran Duran/New Romantic look).  I wandered in and saw plenty of plaid, stripes, tee shirts, sweaters, thermals, camisoles, and some outerwear; $10 - 20 for a top is certainly reasonable.  The clothing here is completely casual and reminds me of American Eagle.

I didn't get anything but some of the striped sweaters weren't bad looking.  It's somewhat preppy but the items have a worn, vintage look that I actually like.  Some of the t-shirts were pretty cute, like one said something about being Pong master.  The highlight was seeing the Members Only inspired jackets!  I wish they had Atari t-shirts.

Thank you for reminding me how OLD I am.  I remember when everything in this store was originally in fashion.  Bitches.  Now, if they start selling spandex pants, neon anything, hypercolor t-shirts, and/or cutoff gloves, I am going to run out and look if Marty McFly was outside in a Delorean along with the professor.

I was very excited to stumble upon Heritage 1981! At first sight it reminded me of Urban Outfitters but once on the inside it has more of a urban club feel to it.

The men's section is pretty dope! Lots of cool screened tees, sweaters, jackets and more. The best thing was, it's CHEAP!!!! I think the price for the style of clothing your getting is pretty low priced. I could defiantly see myself paying hundreds of dollars more at Urban.

The place is owned by Forever 21 so of course they are going to have great styles at great prices.

The only downfall is, I wish they had SLIM FIT tees! I'm a small guy and I like my shirts fitted, even after a wash the shirts were still pretty big on me.. SUCKS!

Hopefully they'll jump on the slim fit band wagon soon!

Sometimes Heritage has some good things that look decent but the women's clothing seems to have a boring look. I think that Heritage is a better place to shop for the budget man. The guy's clothing is trendier but the quality is not so great. Basic T-shirts oftentimes shrink in the wash.

This store is a nice change from it's famous neighbor b/c the air circulation and air conditioning is actually on! The floor layout is better too since clothes arn't jam packed and messily arranged.

This is like the nicer, less club-ish style of clothing owned and operated by the mother of all cheap quality clothing stores, Forever 21. The prices are slightly more expensive than Forever 21, and for that, the quality also seems slightly better too. It's neater and less hectic because it's a lot less packed like it is in its sister store with girls in every nook in cranny. I get really overwhelmed whenever I'm in those stores, but at least at Heritage I can have a calmer shopping experience. At Forever 21, you usually have to make sure you have lots of time on you if you really want to find something decent. Sifting through racks and swimming through herds of girls can get terribly difficult. So, I was really happy to find a cute print skirt and tank in a matter of minutes. They carry some men's clothing here, too.

This store is a hidden GEM!  Great styles, fabulous prices!  My 18 year old and I had fun shopping here...We BOTH found things, stylish and affordable....I love the look, lots of cottons and the latest styling....very nice basics are just plain cheap!  The clothes look well made, as well as other out there at a much higher price....hope they open one here sometime soon!
Most of the sales staff seemed indifferent, but there was one girl who was very helpful...If they beefed up the sales staff in the "personality area", they'd be really HOT!  They need to "work" with customers and not just stand there...

The only reason why I would torture myself with a 3 hour long drive to Valley Fair Mall. They carry this at the Forever 21 in the City but all the cute stuff sells out fast, so I go here to try to find the smaller sizes. Then I reward myself with a hot dog on a stick and pray that I can find my car and avoid traffic on the drive home.

I have never bought anything from this store, but I have been inside and the clothes are nice! I've also seen some of the stuff online, but its more real in person. The clothes are fashionable, but not expensive, just slightly more expensive than Forever 21, their sister store. From what I've seen, I like Forever 21 better, only because they seem to have a better and wider selection of clothes. When I actually buy something from here though [lol] I will see!
