Great place for Mexican food! Everything is fresh made right there, and they have beers too. They used to not card so we'd come here all the time and get some nachos and pitchers. They card now so I guess it's a good thing I'm 21... The atmosphere is great (bright colors, feels authentic) and really chill. You could sit here for a few hours with no problem.
Delicious greasy cheap taqueria food and aguas frescas. I used to eat here weekly when I was a student at SCU. The place is usually full of drunk SCU students on Saturday nights.
I've heard people complain about the staff not being fluent in English but what do you expect when you go to a taqueria? If you like Mexican food you know enough Spanish to place your order.

Just....wow.
This place is so very full of pure win, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, sated and happy.
The staff are awesomely friendly. The staff gives *everyone* a cheery "Hola Amigo" when they stroll in, which is nice. They really appear to enjoy thoroughly the work they're doing, and it shows in the food.
Oh, the food.
To me, a good sign is when I can order anything with carnitas and be in heaven. Oftentimes, others seem to fall short on this, but Henry's just does it with OOMPH. The salsa is to die for (BOTH the red and green).
My husband gives hi5's for the shrimp tacos, and the vegetable quesadilla (although he was overwhelmed by the amount of veggies packed into that morsel of goodness).
I've gone with the carnitas and asada so far, and next trip I'll be going through and trying the pastore.
The menu is large, the chips & salsa are fresh, and it's very filling, and tasty.
Cons: Parking can be problematic, and the orders can get confusing when this place is packed.

Ok, I think we found the best Mexican dive -ever! Family-run and served, SO friendly and helpful. And, the food was perfect! I ordered the Ranchera salad with steak and muchos nachos. Best mexican salad I've EVER had! My husband got the Oxinaraburrito (sp?), was good, but not bulging like Chipotle, but very tasty. Mild sauce is spicy, but really good. Total dive atmosphere, but so worth the money and time.
Best burrito joint in Santa Clara so far. The staff is very friendly, all meat is grilled to order, not out of some tub, and everything comes with some fresh chips. Can't go wrong.
Decent cheap Mexican food for SCU students and locals. You could pop in on a Saturday night, see college students take up the back with 40 oz beers and margaritas.
For about $3, you can get a fish and veggie taco. For about $10, you can get some serious eats.
Picking up your order can be confusing if someone ahead of you has the same order. They just call out what you ordered and if someone's not paying attention (or ahem drinking a little too much) well, ...
I might still prefer to go to Mondo which is a few blocks away if I want a fat burrito for cheap, but there is more variety here.

Such a great deal. Not very expensive, large burritos and If you eat there they usually give you all the chips and salsa you want. The best thing on the menu is the Oaxacano (i think that's how its spelled, "wha-ha-KANEO") which is a grilled burito with carne asado and pico. Much better than Mondo Burrito if you're in the area.

I was looking for a good Taqueria in the Santa Clara area and found this place on Yelp. I am used to having to drive to the East or Southside in order to get anything that tasted remotely decent.
This place was GREAT..... The rice and beans are like those my suegro makes at home. I did not have trouble finding any parking.
The people are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Henry's has really friendly employees, even though they prefer to greet you and ask your order in Spanish, you can see the friendliness come through. Plus they call you "amigo/amiga" which really makes me feel at home in the wildly colored place and feel the authenticity. They have vegetarian refried beans, which wins them over in my book. I used to go there for the small bean and cheese $1 burritos, but recently they raised the price to $1.75 I think. Still a deal since they are made fast and hot and delicious (tho I gotta admit, the beans are a little runny) but I'm kinda miss bragging about getting 2 small burritos and having dinner for $2. Inflation is a bitch!

The food here is decent to solid and the staff are ultra-friendly. I like how they just assume you speak Spanish and start talking to you in it.
I LOVE HENRY'S. they are friendly, and always greet you with hola amiga/o and the burritos are delicious. My favorite is the Hawaiian burrito (it's cousin, the hawaiian taco is also pretty yummy). I got my fiance hooked on those bad boys.

Man. I can't believe I've lived in this backwards little town for 13 years and have never known about Henry's. I went there 2 weeks ago, and was totally impressed. The contents of my fabulous burrito was as flavorful as anything I'd ever had. The folks here, are really, really nice, and they really appreciate your business. We need to reward business like this by going back and telling our friends. Awesome place. It's even worth parking 3 blocks away because there is no place to park.
Henry's has tasty food at a reasonable price. Their staff is friendly, and in no time remembers you and your "regular" order. Since it is right across the street from SCU, they rely on student traffic. Unfortunately, this means they sometimes curtail their hours bases on when school is in. Since I'm out of college, I have no idea when school is in/out, so I've arrived at Henry's several times to find they are closed during posted business hours.
Try their green salsa with the chips.
Another selling point for Henry's: they sell 40-oz beers.
Henry's is like a national treasure...well, it was to me, at least, during the time I was in college at SCU. I used to get a bean and cheese mini burrito, with pico de gallo and onions, every single day for lunch, costing me all of one dollar! HELLO GREAT DEAL!
The family that owns Henry's is extremely personable and generous. They're from Oaxaca, Mexico, and incidentally, I took a student immersion trip to Oaxaca during my senior year. When we came back, we wanted to host a reflection event about our trip, and to lure people in, of course we wanted to serve food. So we talked to Henry's and they gave us probably enough (totally delish) food to feed 40 people for the event! In exchange, we passed out fliers for them (like anyone even needed to be told how fabulous they are!) Now, if that's not generosity, I don't know what is!

Henry's consistently rocked my world at least once a week while I was a student at Santa Clara. It is SO much better than Mondo Burrito. The people who work here are so, so friendly! They take time to know who you are and what your 'order' is. Free chips, guac, and sour cream to those they love. They also serve beer and have birthday specials.
The nachos were my favorite. HUUUUGE plate of nachos for about 4-5 bucks. Also, the veggie burrito was great!
I'm still having Henry's withdrawals.
