I've been here twice to visit a family member, and I really wish I could give it a better rating, especially considering how much time said family member has spent here.
The building is relatively new, and clean, but there is a lot of construction going on right now which is inconvenient for parking, and also makes a lot of noise.
Now, I know hospital staff are busy, and I know they are mostly overworked and probably tired. However, when a hospital provided social worker says to my father and myself that our aunt is simply "pleasantly confused," after her second stay at this particular facility for reasons due to her progressing Alzheimer's I do not find this helpful. I found that the nurses weren't all that attentive as far as listening to our concerns, or my great aunt's concerns. Yes, she is confused, yes she is old, yes she has Alzheimer's, but that doesn't mean she's imagining the giant bruise on her shoulder that hurts.
To make matters worse,after her first stay, my father left very explicit instructions that his aunt not be released on her own from the re-hab facility next door. He did not want her to be able to sign herself out before she was ready to leave, and yet, the hospital let her do this, which is most likely a reason she ended up back there a little over a month and a half later.
Disappointing.Listed in: Avoidance at its finest
