Heil Valley Ranch is a great little spot for a day long hike or a few hours of mountain biking.  To get there you need to get to Left Hand Canyon Drive heading West, go about 0.7 miles and turn right onto Geer Canyon Drive.  This dirt road will lead you back about 1.3 miles to the trailhead.  Heil Ranch parking will be on the right side of the road. It is important to know that Geer Canyon Road is private and you cannot park your car along the side of the road. Please park in the trailhead parking only and watch for cattle while on Geer Canyon Road.

Heil Valley Ranch has approximately 10 miles of trail open for mountain biking.  The entry trail has the largest ascents and some hairpin turns.  Be careful as it is single track and can be quite rough.  The Ponderosa loop is pure hell on your body.  P.I.T.A. rocks are everywhere and even with a fully-suspended bike it gets really rough in areas.  The new Turkey Run Trail just opened recently and in time will be a great run.  Unfortunately right now it is very loose and sandy, but it's still a nice alternative to Ponderosa.

This is a great little park and well worth spending a few hours exploring.
