11 reviews for Hearthstone Lounge
The service is great and the drinks are strong. You wouldnt know that youre right next to Disneyland. Its where we go to get a cool drink and get away from the crowds. Usually dont see more than a couple kids in the lounge area.
Nice architecture and valet service!
We went based on reviews for just a cocktail. We had the Acai berry Martini and the Godavia Chocalte Martini. Both were great we only had one since we heard it was pricie. Low and behold I assumed we would pay 12-15 per drink and when the bill came it was only 9.25 per drink.
I'm a martini drinker and that's a bargin for a good martini, so i'll be back. I'm only giving it a 4 because it was my first visit.
The service was great and it was crowded on a Friday night.
Shhhh.... Don't tell any one but this is my favorite land in Disneyland!!
When you just need to get away from all of the hustle and bustle, and screaming kids and annoying people. This is the spot for you.
They have a great drink/wine list. They have a cool Martini with a light in it.
This is my safe haven. I love it here.
This is where I had a Sidecar for the first time and I was in love. The glass was just big enough, the drink was just strong enough, I had another one and I was DRUNK. Not stumbling around drunk, but just drunk enough to be all smiley to the bunk ass tourists sitting around me. The bartenders here are VERY generous with their pours, sure you pay a lot for a few drinks, but damn they make it worth it. Plus, I can't get over just how quiet this place is....it's a sharp contrast from all the ruckus of the resort. And a word of advice: Don't tell the bartender to make you a shot to get you fucked up, because they will make you regret ever giving the freedom to do so.
The Hearthstone Lounge (HL) located on the ground floor of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel is mere minutes, walking distance, from our house. But when there, we feel like we're at first class mountain resort hundreds of miles to the north somewhere in the California High Sierras, maybe even Yosemite. So whenever we feel in the mood for a vacation but don't have the time or money we just head on over to the Hearthstone Lounge and have a cocktail or two and enjoy the atmosphere of the whole place. Enjoy a cocktail in the HL, then have a walk around the complex. There's a cool pathway leading from a courtyard located between the main structure of the hotel and a wing that borders Downtown Disney (DD). The wing buffets the 'hustle bustle noise' of DD and thus offers walkers a quite stroll amidst the landscape of lush greenery that lines either side of the pathway. Or as someone else noted, grab your cocktail and head out to the lobby or patio, located just outside the HL, and enjoy sitting by a warm fireplace.
As with everything 'Disney', the drinks are pretty pricey. But, hey, just think of all the money you saved by not driving hundreds miles to an actual mountain resort plus spending more money once you got there. So just take that into consideration when you read reviews with complaints and whining about how expensive it is. There are no reviews like that yet, but give it time. For the price, though, we've found them to be good and strong.
A solid 4 star rating for an establishment that offers visitors, even those not staying at the hotel, a magical escape from a metropolitan environment to a sierra 'mountain resort'.
I don't do the whole bar thing in any of the places in Downtown Disney. Instead, I always go to the Hearthstone. I love the Hearthstone because it's the perfect place to sit back and have a drink with friends during or after a Disneyland excursion. It's great for an afternoon break or a late night drink after the parks close.
There's a menu with some pretty tasty mixed drinks on it (pomegranate splash is the best), and of course there's a full bar. They give very strong pours here!!! One drink is usually good enough here, otherwise you'll be stumbling around the parks. I recommend going up to the counter and ordering if you're ordering something that's not on the menu. The servers aren't bartenders, so I've seen them get confused with more complicated requests. Service can get bad when it's really crowded, so just go up to the counter to get served faster. There's this younger bartender guy that gives the best pours. Go to him!
The space isn't very accommodating for large groups, but there's a patio area outside that has plenty of room. Also, they have brownies here!!! It's not on the menu, but they should have it if you try to order it. Last time I went here the server said they didn't have it, but she was new and didn't know anything.
This is a great place to unwind and relax. The last time I was here was back in March. I was able to grab a couple of chairs by one of the fireplaces with a friend and just chat the night away. The hot drinks were yummy. I got a peppermint schnapps hot chocolate and my friend got an Irish coffee. Both were topped with a tall peak of whipped cream.
The best thing about this place is if you time it just right to get a place by one of the fireplaces. The rustic look of the lounge makes you feel as if you're in a lodge in a wooded national park somewhere. The price of the drinks are a little on the expensive side, but I guess that's because you're in the Disneyland resort area. The service was a tad bit slow despite the fact that we were there past midnight. But I would definitely go back just to lounge in one of the armchairs near the fire. The ambience is enough to bring me back here again.
I love stopping by the Hearthstone Lounge whilst visiting the Happiest Place on Earth. The bar has a wonderful fireplace with comfy chairs (definitely the choicest of seats if you are fortunate enough to snag one). My fave drink is the Blue Glo-Tini. It is served in a martini glass with a glowing blue "ice cube". So pretty! Whenever I order it, tons of peeps ask the cocktail server what it is, as they bring it to me. It is definitely not subtle, but it is really tasty. I highly recommend it. :)
What makes this nice is that you can order a drink and sit in the lounge, head out the back door to the outdoor patio with fireplace (smoking is ok) or head to the lobby and sit by the huge fireplace and just relax. I have fallen asleep a couple times just relaxing by the fire. A great place to take a much needed break from the chaos.
The perfect ending to a long day....grab a drink at Hearthstone. After a long and I seriously mean long day at Disneyland..my girls and I came down here for drinks. We were here the night before and the bartender remembered us. Shots are pretty standard...I had a guava mojito....which was not bad. I have to admit it was good but too girly for me...I ended getting a shot of Jameson too. The prices are pretty steep even for me to say that...but what ya expect...its a lounge in a hotel. Also, too bad the seats outside were all taken...it would have been nice to sit out there.
This is usually my last stop whenever I come to Disneyland or to Downtown Disney!!! This is the ultimate place to unwind your day!!! I usually order a cup of black coffee with a shot of Myers rum!!! The setting is so nice with huge lounge chairs/couches and a huge fire place to warm you up!!! If you come here at the right time, they have a cast member telling stories..... yea yea, kinda childish but hey, we are at Disneyland!!! The prices are a little steep but I guess your kinda paying for the experience at the same time!!! There is also a door to the left of the bar that leads you out to a patio area where you can have a smoke and listen to some crazy audiomatronic crickets and birds!!! Whether your in the mood for a late night cocktail or a cup of hot cocoa, The Hearthstone Lounge is where its at!!!
