I attended an event at HHK. Where to begin...it was fabulous. They have a wide variety of menu options to choose from. You can choose to put the food together yourself or you can purchase made from them and just take home and freeze. These are known as "meal assembly" places.

The HHK menu options are robust. The have beef, fish, poultry and veg dishes. The prices break down to an average of $4-$5 per serving. For example, I got a chicken meal for 2-3 people (a half order) and it was $17.99. I don't know too many places where to people can get a healthy meal for less than $20.

They use organic, locally grown ingredients and are 400 calories per serving max.

I can honestly only think of one downfall -- the delivery area. I live in Salem, MA and on my way home, I was so excited I called my husband and he said, "um, hello, we live in Salem. The place is in Wellesley, do you want to drive that far." The delivery fee to Boston is $30, so I can only imagine what it would be to Salem. However, Sue (the owner) had a good idea. Go in with people in your neighborhood or at your office and split the delivery fee. Seems reasonable. Also, the food was so good and I had such a great time, I would definitely drive to Wellesley once per month to pick up several dinners - it was that good.

Wow this place is pretty pretty awesome.  I bought 4 dinners there this week and so far have made 2 (the lemon chicken curry and the nacho turkey burgers).  They were both super easy to make and delicious.  I picked up the meal kits at HHK (I didn't assemble them), so I can't speak to the assembly process.  My order was ready as soon as I walked through the door and the woman who handed it to me and explained some of the basics was very friendly and helpful.  The directions were easy to follow and nothing was missing.  I LOVE that they post their nutritional info.  I did the small sizes and the portions were perfect for my husband and I.

My only complaint is that it's in Wellesley, so not super convenient for me living in Southie.  The building is easy to find though and pretty close to the highway.  They have delivery to Boston but it's 30 bucks and requires a 6 meal minimum, which would be ok if I had lots of extra freezer space (I don't).  I would love it if they came to one of the farmer's markets in the city.

The frozen pre-packaged meals are tasty, high quality, healthy, and quick to make.... but pricey.  I especially like having the nacho turkey burgers in the freezer for emergencies.

How sad that this business gets slammed because other people screw up and don't use their online coupons before they expire.

    I bought a groupon, yes I did.

So, this place is in an office building, on the ground floor. I think I got more lost in the building than trying to get to the building. Their menu changes monthly and the concept is really nice, I wish they were closer to Boston or had a location near my hood as I would come here at least once a month. They are also pretty flexible and will accommodate you if you need to pick up a little later, like after normal hours.

I ordered four half entrees which serve 2-3 people. The meals are pre-measured and packaged if you choose that option. I didn't want to assemble my own as it feels like it might be awkward.

They were pre-assembled and frozen, all come in a small brown box with easy to follow instructions, and the ingredients are packed in plastic bags inside the box. This service is such a time saver for those who like to eat healthy but just don't have the time to buy ingredients to cook a gourmet meal.

The 3 M chicken is awesome, it is probably very easy to make and a lot cheaper, but like I said if you are low on time then it can be worth it, it was very easy and quick. Also, these are healthy recipes and while it tasted rich, it was also light at the same time. I probably won't need to use the service again as its pretty far from my home, but its a a really nice concept.

I was a little confused during checkout online and I added a note letting them know I am using a groupon, Sue responded faster than immediately...this was on a Sunday night at 10:30! I laughed and wrote back saying how I loved that she answered my question even before I asked it, and she was very friendly over email and in person. Now THAT is service!

Update: I just had the coconut ginger chicken nuggets and they were divine. Very simple, clean and easy to make.

I presented my groupon on 7/29/2010 the exact same day that a couple of fellow reviewers here vented in overheated "poutrage" about not getting special treatment. Sorry folks, not only was the expiration date obvious EVERYWHERE but http://groupon.com ALSO helpfully emails you to remind you about your expiring offers. This small business also sold 812 of these group offers and they were *madly* working to get orders out the door during the final days as many people (like myself) used the groupon at the last minute.

How did I get by with a 7/29 pickup? I presented the groupon when picking up on 7/29 but I had actually used the darn thing online on 7/27. Not very hard. At all.

Review the food, the service and the value, don't trash a small business because you can't follow simple rules and you are not being treated like the amazing unique super awesome snowflake your parents have always assured you that you were.

My experience was extremely positive. I arrived at 3pm and walked out with a large order about 4 minutes later. They run a tight operation in a small space which probably explains the inability to accommodate special snowflakes. The staff were super friendly and made sure to ask if you were familiar with their system. The prepackaged food is very well put together with heating/serving instructions on everything. The meals are ready to go directly into the freezer if you want to store them long term.

So far we've only had time to enjoy the brown rice, will update later once we try the entrees. Most of my order is destined for a freezer in maine.

I came to Healthy Habits after buying a buywithme coupon. Their website was easy to use and informative. I placed my order online and went to pick up my food on the scheduled date. They were ready for me and had everything prepared for me.

There are two options to choose from:
    1. Pick-Up. (They do ALL of the work)
    2. In-store assembly. (You do some of the work)

Because I like to cook, I chose in-store assembly. It was a good experience but wasnt what I expected. I thought it would be more of a group cooking class kind of thing when really it was just me measuring and bagging ingredients. I would just do "pick-up" next time.

The recipes were easy to follow and taste good. I didnt think they were culinary masterpieces but they got a meal on the table fast and effortlessly.

Overall I would recommend Healthy Habits Kitchen to the super busy person who doesn't have alot of time. Sure, you could easily make these "packet meals" your self but this saves alot of time in prep work (Grocery shopping, meal planning, chopping, etc.).

If you think its expensive, ask yourself this:
How much $ is your time worth?

These folks just refused to accept a gift certificate that expired yesterday.  Seriously??  You are turning away new business on something that expired yesterday?  I hope their food is better than their service -- and better than their business judgment -- both of which are seriously lacking.

I tasted Healthy Habits Kitchen's peachy chicken at the farmer's market - it is delicious! I first saw this company at the Russell's winter farmer's market...a great resource.

Good food, but expensive. My only complaint has to do with the portion sizing/pricing. They are great if you have a lot of money and very little time (which is their target market), so it's fantastic if you're a workaholic that wants to stay healthy, but have variety (instead of the standard grilled chicken breast with sauteed veg and brown rice everyday).
I am a 5'7" female that weighs 124 lbs and I was starving after eating one of their portions with sides. I needed about 1.5-2 portions to be satiated. I guess I need to learn something about portion control.  So if you're a big eater, this isn't for you.
Something to note is that the quality of the ingredients is stellar - something restaurant quality and not something you can source yourself (easily). Their tilapia is other worldly, and I usually find that fish bland and soggy. Theirs was firm, sweet and bouncy to the touch. Flavouring of the food is good, but not as good as things I usually make at home.

I have tasted several different meals from Healthy Habits Kitchen.  All have been scrumptious.  I just finished the last of my stash of their veggie/bean burger.  So delicious.  Seasoned perfectly.  Next time I will be them by the dozen.  Quick and easy.

HHK just refused to extend my Groupon too - it expired yesterday and for whatever reason that is certainly my responsibility, not extending it means I will never spend a dime at this business. For what the costs are to them directly, they have lost a potential customer for good.

When I called, I expected them to say: sure, do it now and it'll be fine. I had even picked out the items days ago so I could have done the order in minutes. I'm not sure how sticking by a deadline helps her grow her business....

Great way to save time and creative brain cells trying to come up with low-fat, healthy options you can make quickly. Multiple options on the burger...tucked away in an office building, but worth looking for.
