Healthy Dining Finder.com

Was referred to this company's website when I was at Sammy's Pizza and asked about the caloric count and sodium content of the new Thin Crust Pizza that I had there-- as compared to the regular Wood Fired Pizza that I've been enjoying the past 11 years.

----------------

A great resource on the web to help you locate Restaurants that serve Healthy items.

You plug in your current address and the radius that you'd like to check out-- and the website lists a number of different options that helps you to locate the best picks in your area.

When you find the restaurant that you want to investigate--
They will pull up items on the menu that show you the whole list of nutritional data that would help you to make a wise decision.

-------------

Here's an Example from a Local Restaurant:

Steamed Shrimp
Lightly seasoned, peel and eat shrimp served with drawn butter and cocktail sauce. Drawn butter and cocktail sauce not included in analysis.

Calories Fat (g) Sat Fat (g) Cholest (mg) Sodium (mg) Carbs (g) Fiber (g) Sugars (g) Protein (g) Fruit/Veg (cups)

-----------------

This info. is like Calorie Count, Sodum (mg), Fat (g), etc....

Great for people who are on restricted health diets-- as well as those of us who want to know what our favorite dishes "Actually" have in them.

**************

ie. ---- When I pulled up Sammy's Chopped Chicken Salad (one of my very favorite salads over the years... the one that I concidered to be "Diet Food") I was amazed to see that it had a Sodium Content of a Whopping 3690 (mg) ---  and a Fat Content of 19 (g) !!!!

Yikes!!!

No wonder I had not been losing the weight that I would have thought I was losing by eating the salad.  (The sad thing.... I thought I was making a "Healthy Choice"--- but I may have actually been better off to have eaten a pizza than this.  I often much prefer pizzas to salads).

Sometimes salads are more packed with Sodium and Fat than other dishes.  It pays to actually look up all of the contents and find out what's in your favorite foods.  This could seriously make a huge difference in the long run!

***************

Just another way to stay up with the New Year's Resolutions!
