It's the best gym that I've belonged to but don't use... but hey it's not their fault that they can't cure me of my laziness...

Although my mom lives a five minute walk away from this gym, I didn't go here until she joined. I wish it weren't so out of the way for me, or I would be here more often.

love the open reception area. it's much more inviting than the BSC Copley or Watertown
love that it is its own building, which means lots of windows and natural light. The back bay location has windows too, but not like this.
like the locker room. it's pretty standard. maybe a little more spacious then back bay
love the layout. they have a lot of areas so you don't feel like you are fighting for mat space when you strech out. sometimes the trainers can take over, but that happens everywhere
so far, i have only taken the yoga class with helene on saturday morning, but she is great. she also teaches at the back bay location, which is a plus.

oh, and i love that i am always the youngest one in the room. :P

It's pricey, but it's worth it.  I absolutely love the fact that it doesn't smell like gym socks each time I walk in (I think it has something to do with the eucalyptus steam room).  The gym is broken up into two buildings, the main gym area and then the spa/pilates building.  The main building has plenty of locker room space (with sauna, hot tub, steam room, clean showers, etc), a cafe, nursery, all the cardio equipment possible, and a weight training area.

The primary clientele of this location appears to be stay at home moms, so it's busiest between 8am and noon.  So, if you're a working gal, and go before/after work, it's generally pretty quiet.  The con to that is the class selection isn't as abundant at the times that you want to go (i.e. after work).  However, with the Chestnut membership, you also have access to the Brookline location (on Comm Ave.), which offers quite a few more classes after work.

i miss going to this gym since I moved out of the area. So clean! Tv's on every treadmill and they played great movies as well. Very relaxed and no pressure.
It was modern and worth the little bit more per month.
The jacuzzi and sauna were great, and again the locker rooms and showers were so clean

they had lots of classes to choose from and lots of parking
Great late night evening hours and it was never crowded and I never had to wait for a machine!
